Le Sauvage

Very friendly staff, good location with plenty of parking in the square in front. Nice room and well insulated as hotel is by a busy street and the noise did not bother us. Also we were right above the outdoor eating terrace - again OK with windows shut but not so good with chat and smoke with windows open. Good menus for dinner.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay last weekend. A beautifully renovated small hotel with gourmet cuisine based on local products. We enjoyed the intimate celler where the dinner was served and the kind staff. Also the fresh breakfast proposals, going away from 'all you can eat big hotels buffet' with lots of waste. The Sauvage proposes quality in its excellence. We hope to be back.

The Hotel Le Sauvage in Fribourg exceeded my expectations! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome from the start. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable – ideal for a restful stay. I also want to highlight the excellent service, which left nothing to be desired. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning! Thank you for everything.

The place is clean and tidy. Missing things of this apartment: 1 towel per person only. It's up to you what you use it for. Kitchen missing basics, such as salt, sugar or a towel. Plates and glasses are exactly 4 (apartment is for 4 people). If you use them in the evening, you can't use them also in the morning. Not a Romantikhotel.

Although I didn't stay at the hotel, I had the chance to check out the rooms, and I must say, they were very clean and well-maintained. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. I also had a great dining experience at the hotel's restaurant - they offered delicious meals cooked with fresh ingredients.

Very nice, modern and clean hotel in traditional building. The breakfast selection was a bit smaller compared to other hotels, but the quality and taste was excellent! The service was very friendly and attentive. We had a nice and large room with a comfortable bed. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family!

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. Natalia (reception desk) was very rude. She asked my wife and I if we wanted to buy breakfast for the next day. When we declined she appeared to be very displeased and actually irritated at our decision. When she was showing us our room she mentioned that there are chocolates and water in the fridge, and coffee pods for the Nespresso machine for us. She did not use the word “included” or “complimentary” so, I asked if the coffee was “included”. She appeared upset, looked straight in my eyes, and in an angry tone said “I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT THIS WAS INCLUDED!”||I have been a physician since 1986, and as such I consider myself to be very proficient in the field of customer service. Her response to my simple clarification question was unacceptable. It upset me so much that it affected the rest of my day.||Other things to note: no Air Conditioning, no English-speaking channels on TV, there are very loud church bells from nearby Eglise-St. Jean periodically, and the check-in desk closed at 16:00 on the Sunday that we checked in.||At check out we met a different person and explained dissatisfaction with our stay. | She was apologetic and seemed genuinely compassionate. If you choose to stay here I hope that Natalia is in a good mood when you check in.

Beautiful location next to the river and away from the central city. The funicular makes it easy to get to and from the hotel. up and down. The room was relaxing with a large comfortable king+ bed. Restaurant was also excellent with high quality local products. Most outstanding was been the incredible staff. From the front desk to the restaurant, the service could not of been any more helpful and responsive with a genuine interest in your enjoyment.

Excellent menu and wine in the quiet historic part of the city with plenty of parking. Very professional staff. The place breathes high quality cuisine and service. Cheaper than the top ranked restaurants yet value for the price is better.
