Visited Le Square several times during May. First visit was good although the waitress was very reserved. Once she got used to us turning up every day or so she was efficient and charming,. The food and service was very good. Whenever we walked past the café she would greet us even though we didn't stop there that day. It's the French neighbourhood way. Once they are used to seeing you around they become more friendly. Would I recommend Le Square? Certainly! It's also a great place to sit with a coffee or a cold drink in the afternoon and watch the passing parade.

We had a rude waitress (despite being the only diners at the time). She had an abrupt manner, didn't smile, and was apparently unable to place things on our table gently --without a big clunk. My boyfriend's main dish was a dry, sort of tasteless fish on a bed of pasty pasta. Luckily, I got the duck, and that was fantastic. You can't go wrong with garlic roast potatoes and duck at a French place! Creme brulee also beyond reproach. Creamy where it ought to be, and crispy on the top. It's great if you want a quiet dinner on a weekday. It's close to government buildings, so you might even see some dirty old politicians with their mistresses.

Be careful when you order a drink. They overcharged for a simple glass of rose. Poured a small amount into a large glass and charged the higher price. I would guess they wouldn't try this with a French person. I live in France half the year and have never encountered this.

Where do we start....the service not that great. The lamb was uncooked, the duck confit was melting in grease and to finish the baba with rum was rather an old baba sponge swimming in a sea of watery rum. Used to be a nice and yummy place few years ago...don't know what happened since but it really went down! Pity, location is great.

I would say that is my favorite place to eat in Paris. There are other luxury restaurants, maybe, but this place is just warming my heart. Cozy, quiet, very tasty food. A must try: a combo dessert, mousse chocolat AND their creme brulee :D

Fish cooked to perfection. The sauce was excellent. Steak was very good too. Great quality of the products, very fresh. Good wine.

We stopped in for a late lunch after checking into our hotel. The food was nice and the service good. We enjoyed the outdoor seating on a nice day.
