Le Stanze del Lago Suites&Pool

What a lovely hotel! We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist who was helpful and friendly. He was also happy to converse with me in my broken Italian which was very nice! The hotel is modern and stylish with lots of interesting art and has the feel of being in a home, with their few rooms all leading off the main staircase over two floors. Our room was a great size with a large bathroom and excellent shower. The small balcony overlooked the street and had a nice view down the hill towards the town. |It is less than a 10 minute walk down that hill to get to the old centre of the town (although a bit longer on the way back up!).|The pool is small but still a good size for a swim and perfect for cooling down. There are plenty of sun beds and there always seems to be some part of the pool surround in the sun! |Breakfast is ordered the evening before and served in the bright and cheerful dining room. There is a wide variety of breakfast delights from pastries and jams to eggs and tomatoes. They were even able to provide gluten free bread. The coffee was excellent too! All served by the lovely cook/waitress!

It took me some time to decide whether to share this experience and I feel it’s important to be honest. We stayed one night at this hotel by Lake Como in September 2025. Breakfast was fine the ladies serving were very kind and the receptionist was friendly. The location is good for walking into town. Unfortunately everything else was unacceptable. In the days and hours before our arrival we were contacted several times and repeatedly asked to confirm that we would arrive on time as the reception would otherwise be closed. We found this insistence rather stressful especially after a long journey. We checked in late afternoon after a long drive and were just passing through with another long trip ahead the next morning. The room we were given on the ground floor smelled unbearably damp and musty. We were told to “just turn on the AC” but even after hours this did not help. Black mold was clearly visible on the ceilings and in the bathroom and there were insects in the room. It felt like a backup room that should not be rented out at all. We did not complain that night because we were completely exhausted and there was nobody at reception when we returned from dinner. However the room was absolutely unacceptable and in my opinion a health risk. Sleeping under only a thin sheet felt like being in a wet basement. The pool did not look clean either. After leaving I realized that my bracelet was missing. We contacted the hotel about one hour after departure and were told they would inform us if it was found. Unfortunately we never heard back. Overall mold stench insects unhealthy conditions and far too expensive. I honestly don’t understand how such a room can even be offered to guests.

I just cannot say how nice this stay was! I don’t understand how everyone doesn’t give it 6 stars. The staff…AMAZING!!! From the minute you arrive they are nothing but helpful, cheerful and accommodating. The morning breakfast was not like your typical hotel breakfasts, they are made personally fresh for you each morning…and the staff is wonderful. The rooms are clean, quiet and nicely decorated, newly remodeled and maintained. They provide evening shots for you each evening to “relax” and have a good nights rest. The hosts are great people, they work the facility and pamper you! This place is a hidden gem!!! Do not hesitate to book here. If we come back we would most DEFINITELY stay here again! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

What a wonderful stay in Como! So many positive things to say about such a unique place in a beautiful town. Le Stanze is a seven bedroom ‘hotel’ lovingly renovated from a villa but like nothing I’ve ever stayed in before.||Facilities: air con throughout (and controls in room), the most amazing small pool area with sunbeds- a real treat in Como! For two days we had the pool to ourselves , it felt like a private Villa! The Villa is incredibly well decorated and modern yet without taking away from the history. It’s about a seven minute walk down some steps which lead to the Duomo and centre of Como. Even in 35 degree heat we were fine going up and down. It also felt perfectly safe even at night as two women, as did all of Como. ||The room: We booked a junior suite and it was outstanding- modern but with everything you would need (and more). Slippers, robes, fridge, tea and coffee, water, blanket, pillow choice, free shots of limoncello in the evening, sweets, sun lotion even bug spray! The rooms had those clever external shutters/ blinds that completely block out light and much noise. The Toiletries: spa like quality! ||Staff: beyond amazing. Kind, thoughtful and they couldn’t do enough for us yet we’re never overbearing…water by the pool, pool towels (free), delicious breakfast (love the selection and home made sweet treats), taxi bookings, trip advice…they did it all with a smile. Especial thanks to Elizabeta who was so warm and welcoming. ||We would definitely come back again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Como!

We had a wonderful stay! The breakfast was especially impressive — everything was super fresh, served in small portions to avoid waste, and beautifully presented. Everything was very clean, elegant, and thoughtfully prepared. All our needs were met with great care. A special thanks to Ms. Jemmi, who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. She does her job with so much professionalism and warmth — we truly appreciated her support. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very quiet. Waking up to the sound of birds was the perfect touch. Highly recommended!

This was the most fabulous wee hotel (9no. rooms) built about 3 years ago within walking distance of the town centre. As an Architect, the quality of design, materials used, workmanship and detailing was outstanding! The staff were polite and very helpful and the breakfast was fantastic! A lot of superlatives I know, but it really was that good!||When we revisit Como, we will definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to other couples!

Absolutely fantastic hotel! I stayed in a spacious studio with a large, comfortable bed and a lovely terrace — perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and a great way to start the day. The staff were truly amazing — kind, attentive, and always ready to help.I was also impressed by their commitment to sustainability, from eco-friendly amenities to various green initiatives throughout the property. It’s clear they care about both comfort and the environment.Highly recommend this place for a stay in Como!

This is one of the best hotels we’ve been to and I’ve travelled extensively around the world.|The personal touches in this little gem are just amazing!!|What a charming place. We were able to enjoy the pool area as well. A rare find in downtown Como!
