"On San Giorgio Maggiore, Le Stanze del Vetro offers a free historic Murano glass exhibition and continues the city's glass heritage while providing accessible displays that originated some of the Biennale's first exhibitions." - Jenn Rice
An unmissable experience for lovers of art and glass
Visiting Le Stanze del Vetro on the Island of San Giorgio was a truly fascinating experience. The exhibition stands out for the elegance of its layout, the quality of the works on display, and the care with which the history and evolution of glass art are told.

We got here accidentally, just exploring the island, and didn't regret it. There was a free exhibition of glass with some noteworthy exhibits.

It’s an amazing place, exhibitions well organized, space beautifully designed. When there is a guided visit, it’s highly recommended, the staff is very passionate to introduce the exhibition, we’ve learned way more than just looking at the display.

Free glass museum currently showing items from around 1920, when glass became part of the biennale. Well worth seeing, although some of the legends were hard to read. These are works of art unlike anything you’ll see in shops in Venice or Murano.

Very interesting and unusual exposition of animals made of glass. An amazing experience also for our daughters, who really enjoyed the activities too!

Exhibition of 60s glass by Stearns. Free to enter, but not too much to see, was expecting more especially due to the local history and association with glass. Nice to wander around for half an hour at most.
