"Set against a backdrop of lush jungle, this secluded luxury resort offers a mix of accommodations, from gorgeous villas with their own private plunge pools located right on the resort's powdery white sands to overwater bungalows with traditional thatched roofs, large lagoon-facing decks, and deep soaking tubs. The resort sits on the mountainous, verdant island of Taha'a, off the coast of Raiatea, and is accessible only by speedboat or helicopter. Taha’a is also known as the vanilla island, renowned for producing some of the finest Tahitian vanilla in the world, and the hotel offers excursions out to local vanilla plantations as well as to pearl farms, where guests can learn how famous black Tahitian pearls are harvested. Marine conservation tours are also available, and the hotel can even arrange yacht rentals for guests on request. Cultural activities include weekly Polynesian-themed evenings, complete with a Tahitian buffet and local performers, such as traditional fire dancers."

Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa | Condé Nast Traveler

"Absolute paradise--I didn't want to leave." On an islet filled with vanilla plantations, just ten minutes from Bora Bora by helicopter, this beach resort with a perfect location score is done in Polynesian style. Guests stay in overwater bungalows or beach villas built with local bamboo; the former have wraparound decks, so guests can kayak to and from their rooms, while the villas have plunge pools and hammocks under the coconut trees. "The lagoon massage was an exceptional experience." "I felt as if I was the only person on the island." Meals can be delivered to you on the beach, and activities include swimming with sharks."

Flight Deal: U.S. to Tahiti from $779 Round-Trip

"Honeymoon capital of the world that it is, Tahiti offers a range of cushy accommodation options, including the strikingly contemporary InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort and the wonderfully remote Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa (you'll need to jump on a helicopter from Bora Bora to get there)."

I've read other reviews about great snorkeling on the neighboring islands; those people must not have visited Le Taha'a and the coral garden! An absolutely incredible slice of paradise ~ you see something new each and every time! This is a smaller, boutique hotel with an authentic Polynesian feel. This was our second time there and this time we brought friends ~ it did not disappoint! Everyone agreed it was their favorite out of the 3 we stayed at (Hilton, Moorea and Westin, Bora Bora).

Heaven. Peace and tranquility, beautiful surroundings, kind and thoughtful people. The boat transfer was a lot of fun and i adored the flower crown on arrival. Everything went smoothly during check in and my jaw hit the floor on seeing the bungalow that was to be our home for the next few nights. Immaculate, spacious, every need had been thought of. We spent the days in peace on the deck, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, sup'ing, and snoozing away in the sun. We also joined a tour to see the rays and sharks which was very well organised (thanks to the concierge team). Impossible to go hungry at breakfast 😄 so much choice. And delicious tasty meals on offer in the eve. Don't miss happy hour at the swim up bar 😉. The manicured grounds are immaculate, sitting here by the beach as i write this taking in the water, mountains, and every ounce of peace before we have to leave. Evident that the team here work very hard. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

The staff of Le Taha’a went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and memorable. We were entertained by a young man and his ukulele on the boat ride to the resort from the airport. When we arrived at our sunset view OWB we were delighted to see that the resort decorated our bed with a congratulatory happy anniversary message made out of flowers. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary.||We spent much of our time drifting through the coral gardens next to the resort. We saw a multitude of colorful fish, anemones, and corals. It was magnificent!||The food was great with lots of choices for my vegetarian husband.||I will definitely be back!

We have enjoyed our many stays at this resort over the last several years and are delighted that the level of personalized service and attention to detail continues to remain exceptional. The resort itself and the lagoon around it is spectacular. Breakfast at the Hawaiki Nui is consistently phenomenal. As the dinner menu at Hawaiki Nui is not especially to our taste, we ordered from a limited room service menu. It would be wonderful to have more diverse menu options like Asian, Mexican, American, Middle Eastern etc. both at the restaurants and also on the Room Service menu. Also, we love the open air location of the Hawaiki Nui, but it would be very preferable to have more fans and also airflow under the tables as it becomes uncomfortably hot while we are eating, and we were also being bitten quite a bit by mosquitoes. Everything else was perfect and we love the resort so will keep returning. Thanks!

This place is absoluteyly French Polynesia at its best. The architecture and grounds are amazing and very well kept! It's unique in that it's in a private motu across from TaHa. This is a 5 star resort in my opinion and the over the water bungalows are decorated well and over beautiful views of beautiful palm tress and immaculately landscaped grounds. This was our second trip here and staff went out of their way to make our trip "special and memorable".

I started with a cruise through the Hawaiian islands and the Society Islands, my friend, and I then stayed at Le Taha’a at Pearl Resorts at the end of our cruise vacation. It was the best part of our 16 day travels. I was able to fully relax at this resort. The staff welcomed us warmly. They were so kind and hospitable they gave us one of the best rooms. I was celebrating my 60th. The food was off the charts delicious and the breakfast buffet also WOW! Snorkeling at the lagoon was the most amazing experience and from our bungalow. We just walked off the ladder and walked through the beautiful turquoise colored sea to the snorkeling destination. They had free snorkel gear for us to use as well as stand-up paddle boards. The room we stayed in was off the charts, beautiful with such an amazing view during the day looking out onto an endless light blue water I truly was in awe. In the evening the milky way and new moon was a sight to behold. I felt like I died and went to heaven. The beauty and experience a dream come true. During the day we saw a spotted eagle ray and turtles leisurely swim by. The room itself was very comfortable and the attention to detail WOW. The service WOW. I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was in fact it was so good. I didn’t want to leave. I was going to extend my stay one or two days, but then I realize if I did that I’d have to wait a week to get back home as there’s only one flight back to Hawaii. So regrettably I could not extend my stay. I recommend this place and I definitely plan on returning. Oh and I really love “Tattoo” he is a great guy he welcomes the guest and performed for us when we arrived. What a personality :) if you’re looking to do a once in a lifetime trip this is the place to visit.||By the way they do have a swimming pool but I opted for the ocean :)

This is a magical place, we knew it the minute we stepped off the solar powered shuttle on to the resort. We have arrived someplace very very special. Immediately we were greeted by a lovely young woman who graced our necks with sweet smelling lays. Then a tattooed man playing a ukulele serenaded us to our delight. Little did we know this man was the mascot of the resort and was the fire dancer at the Polynesian show. After we were taken to reception where we checked in. The process was easy breezy and very refreshing too after given a warm wash cloth and a fruity drink which was delicious. After we were checked in we were given a tour of the resort and information we needed to know about restaurants and bars on our way to our OWB. When we opened the door to our OWB we were blown away by the spaciousness of the room , the beautiful views of the water and mountains. I knew then this is what heaven must look like. The bedding was top notch, the bathroom was very private with separate sinks and separate toilet and shower. All details of this OWB were so tastefully appointed and so elegant. Our outside deck was extensive which gave us privacy from our neighbors. We couldn’t be happier with the quality to detail in this beautiful OWB. The restaurants were all beautiful but we mainly stayed in the main restaurant that I like to call the Tree House. It is so beautiful and you are actually in the trees overlooking the beach , lagoon and mountains. What a gorgeous view for breakfast and dinner. There are other restaurants on site but we only ate here every night because the food was just that good and the selection plentiful. The pool area is also very beautiful, it is an infinity pool that overlooks the beach. It was well maintained and very quiet most days. The umbrellas are oversized so you don’t get sun burnt. Lounge chairs are very comfortable too. Now to the real treat. The coral gardens snorkeling site right at the end of this property. It’s spectacular because the coral is alive and thriving. The fish are extensive in species and an abundance of fish which is hard to find these days. We spent most of our time snorkeling here at this site. I’ve got to give a shout out to my travel agent Claudia from Pacific For Less because with her knowledge she guided us to this remarkable resort. This 5 star resort is really a pearl. This is our trip of a lifetime on our 40th Anniversary. My heaven on earth

We stayed for four nights in August and had a really nice time. The resort is located right next to a huge coral garden, it feels like you are scuba diving not snorkeling as you float through and see such amazing underwater life. Food was also amazing. We stayed in both a beach and OWB and the OWB is a much prettier experience, the beach room while nice felt outdated and did not have as pretty of views as the beach tends to have lots of debris.
