The resort sits on the mountainous, verdant island of Taha'a, off the coast of Raiatea, and is accessible only by speedboat or helicopter. Taha’a is also known as the vanilla island, renowned for producing some of the finest Tahitian vanilla in the world, and the hotel offers excursions out to local vanilla plantations as well as to pearl farms, where guests can learn how famous black Tahitian pearls are harvested. Marine conservation tours are also available, and the hotel can even arrange yacht rentals for guests on request. Cultural activities include weekly Polynesian-themed evenings, complete with a Tahitian buffet and local performers, such as traditional fire dancers."

Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa | Condé Nast Traveler

"Absolute paradise--I didn't want to leave." On an islet filled with vanilla plantations, just ten minutes from Bora Bora by helicopter, this beach resort with a perfect location score is done in Polynesian style. Guests stay in overwater bungalows or beach villas built with local bamboo; the former have wraparound decks, so guests can kayak to and from their rooms, while the villas have plunge pools and hammocks under the coconut trees. "The lagoon massage was an exceptional experience." "I felt as if I was the only person on the island." Meals can be delivered to you on the beach, and activities include swimming with sharks."

The staff of Le Taha’a went above and beyond to make our stay perfect and memorable. We were entertained by a young man and his ukulele on the boat ride to the resort from the airport. When we arrived at our sunset view OWB we were delighted to see that the resort decorated our bed with a congratulatory happy anniversary message made out of flowers. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary.||We spent much of our time drifting through the coral gardens next to the resort. We saw a multitude of colorful fish, anemones, and corals. It was magnificent!||The food was great with lots of choices for my vegetarian husband.||I will definitely be back!

Le Taha’a is a beautiful resort overall. We booked this trip through Costco Travel, and thankfully it was a good decision that we did that. They pick you up in the airport and take you by boat to the resort which is lovely. The greeting is beautiful, and I love the little ways that they welcome you and say goodbye, those little touches were absolutely lovely and meant a lot. The fact that they give you a beach bag and water bottles is really nice, and getting our mini bar refilled daily and complimentary for the honeymoon was a nice touch. We went for our honeymoon, and they were very sweet about trying to do little things in the room for us, doing little floral decorations, trying to find an allergen free treat for myself, things like that. The bungalow was beautiful and really nice, the way the doors opened into your private deck was nice and private, but the water to go into off of the bungalow could have a very strong tide at times and was very shallow. Otherwise, it was a lovely room to be in overall, and it was good to be close to a machine where we could get water at any time. The staff itself was a mixed bag to deal with truthfully. The cleaning staff managed to lose my prescription glasses while cleaning and several times had gone through our bags without permission while cleaning or doing turndown, which left a sour taste in our mouth and was frustrating as if I had not had contact lenses I would not have been able to see throughout the trip. If I could give a four and a half star review that would be most of what I took off for. They struggled in being understanding and accommodating regarding my allergies, though I gave the property months advance notice and sent them all lists and documentation, it was disheartening that they basically just offered me items off of a kid's menu and didn't do anything to try to help, and even though we purchased a meal package going in, the one time they "tried" to do something they charged us for it. (for the record, it was a side of french fries that they charged us for since I could not have any of the starters at the hotel, which we felt was a bit ridiculous) This leads to the fact that there really is only the one restaurant on site and it is fine but nothing special, particularly in the fact that there really is not much variety. Their Polynesian night and buffet is by far the best and that was better then any other night by far in terms of food as well as the entertainment, it is lovely all around.

Heaven. Peace and tranquility, beautiful surroundings, kind and thoughtful people. The boat transfer was a lot of fun and i adored the flower crown on arrival. Everything went smoothly during check in and my jaw hit the floor on seeing the bungalow that was to be our home for the next few nights. Immaculate, spacious, every need had been thought of. We spent the days in peace on the deck, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, sup'ing, and snoozing away in the sun. We also joined a tour to see the rays and sharks which was very well organised (thanks to the concierge team). Impossible to go hungry at breakfast 😄 so much choice. And delicious tasty meals on offer in the eve. Don't miss happy hour at the swim up bar 😉. The manicured grounds are immaculate, sitting here by the beach as i write this taking in the water, mountains, and every ounce of peace before we have to leave. Evident that the team here work very hard. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

This is a magical place, we knew it the minute we stepped off the solar powered shuttle on to the resort. We have arrived someplace very very special. Immediately we were greeted by a lovely young woman who graced our necks with sweet smelling lays. Then a tattooed man playing a ukulele serenaded us to our delight. Little did we know this man was the mascot of the resort and was the fire dancer at the Polynesian show. After we were taken to reception where we checked in. The process was easy breezy and very refreshing too after given a warm wash cloth and a fruity drink which was delicious. After we were checked in we were given a tour of the resort and information we needed to know about restaurants and bars on our way to our OWB. When we opened the door to our OWB we were blown away by the spaciousness of the room , the beautiful views of the water and mountains. I knew then this is what heaven must look like. The bedding was top notch, the bathroom was very private with separate sinks and separate toilet and shower. All details of this OWB were so tastefully appointed and so elegant. Our outside deck was extensive which gave us privacy from our neighbors. We couldn’t be happier with the quality to detail in this beautiful OWB. The restaurants were all beautiful but we mainly stayed in the main restaurant that I like to call the Tree House. It is so beautiful and you are actually in the trees overlooking the beach , lagoon and mountains. What a gorgeous view for breakfast and dinner. There are other restaurants on site but we only ate here every night because the food was just that good and the selection plentiful. The pool area is also very beautiful, it is an infinity pool that overlooks the beach. It was well maintained and very quiet most days. The umbrellas are oversized so you don’t get sun burnt. Lounge chairs are very comfortable too. Now to the real treat. The coral gardens snorkeling site right at the end of this property. It’s spectacular because the coral is alive and thriving. The fish are extensive in species and an abundance of fish which is hard to find these days. We spent most of our time snorkeling here at this site. I’ve got to give a shout out to my travel agent Claudia from Pacific For Less because with her knowledge she guided us to this remarkable resort. This 5 star resort is really a pearl. This is our trip of a lifetime on our 40th Anniversary. My heaven on earth

Exceptional in every aspect of our stay. From the relaxed and gracious check in to the escorted tour of the property and our overwater bungalow. It is our wedding anniversary and there was champagne, gifts, and tropical flowers over our bed acknowledging our special week. The main restaurant was beautiful, quality food, and service was terrific. Our overwater bungalow was fantastic with a terrific view 0f the pristine lagoon off of our private deck. The property is on the higher price point but truly worth every penny - true value.

How and where do I begin? From the moment we got off the plane and picked up after getting our luggage we were greeted with a friendly face. This beautiful face with a bright smile welcomed us with flower lays that smelled like the inside of a florist shop. We were handled with care along with our luggage to a shuttle boat just steps away from the airport tarmac. It couldn’t have been an easier transfer. After everyone was on board we ferried over to our property with a solar powered shuttle boat. This resort is doing its share taking pride in caring for the planet and ecosystem you will soon be immersed in. Arriving at the welcome dock our reaction was nothing less than shock and awe, we knew at that moment we were somewhere very special. Greeted by this Polynesian ukulele playing tattooed man such an authentic touch that we enjoyed , little did we know this man was the mascot of this resort and we would see him everywhere including the Polynesian show. My husband loved joking with him during our stay, we felt like family right from the start. Reception was easy breezy, it started with some fruity tasting juice that I’ve never had before but found intriguing along with a warm wash towel. Very refreshing after traveling. After the paperwork was done we were escorted to our OWB. Along the way this lovely girl explained everything about the resort giving us all the information we would need during our stay. Of course if there are more questions concierge is always available to help or arrange anything you may need. When we got to our room we were blown away, pictures couldn’t capture the beauty of this luxurious spacious room with views to die for. My husband giggled with such excitement it truly made me smile. We knew we arrived and couldn’t believe this was our view and our room for the next 5 days. How lucky are we to be here. The bed was comfortable the bedding and linens top notch. The bathroom was large and private, I like that. Two separate sinks, separate toilet, separate shower , couldn’t be a better arrangement. Our fridge was stocked with soft drinks, beer and fruit juices. Bag of chips a chocolate bar was a nice treat too. There is a coffee maker and safe in the room as well. To my surprise as a gift we were given a beautiful straw bag with their logo that can be used at the beach along with two gorgeous water bottles. I forgot to mention these amazing chocolate chip cookies with coconut and pecans that were so yummy. This resort is luxurious and not in an over the top in your face way. It’s a humbled elegance, every detail was not over looked the architecture is raw and beautiful. Nature meets architectural design what a perfect combination. The restaurant AKA treehouse restaurant is amazing not only with the quality of food and perfect service, “ it’s so beautiful” it felt like I was eating in a glamorous tree house. We never got bored of the menu , we ate here every night. Of course there are other options like a gourmet tasting menu that we didn’t opt to dine at. We did eat lunch one day at the pool which as also very good. We did go to the Polynesian night but we didn’t eat the buffet instead we ate off the menu because we loved the food. The show was so authentic and sweet at the end all the waiters and waitresses took part in singing and dancing and it was such a heartfelt moment for everyone there. The pool was beautiful and quiet the entire stay. The pool was clean and well maintained during our stay. We had some drinks at the pool bar which were great , there are big umbrellas at the pool so you won’t burn and comfortable lounge chairs too. The coral garden are a must on this property , it is what separates it from the rest of resorts. You don’t have to do any excursions but snorkel these gardens all day long. This is we’re other tour companies come to snorkel ,right here at your own resort. You would pay hundreds of dollars for that excursion alone and you’re getting it for free right here all day long. Not sure there is much more to say but a big thank you to Claudia from “Pacific for Less.”She guided me with this itinerary and her recommendation with this beautiful pearl of a resort was spot on She certainly knows her properties and this company, “ Pacific for Less” goes over and above to make your trip a trip of a lifetime.

This was our third time at the resort. We have stayed at many other similar resorts but none equals the quality of the Pearl. We were treated like royalty. The service and amenities where excellent. The Coral Gardens are a natural wonder offering an unique experience not to be missed.

It felt like we have descended to heaven. This was once in a life time experience that words can't describe. The location the amazing over the water bungalows, the service and professionalism, friendly stuffs who always greats you with a smile. It was our anniversary vacation and every night the stuffs wrote "happy anniversary" on our bed with fresh flowers and leaves that smelled divine along with the whole champagne bottle on the arrival day. The breakfast was delicious with so many options to choose from and the dinners were romantic. Kudos to everyone who works there. The water was pristine - you can just stand in the coral garden and the colorfull fish will swim around you without even have to snorkel! And the love island is magical! We were lucky to witness a wedding vows while staying here. Highly recommend ♡
