Ordered the duck and it was fantastic. The skin was so crispy. Only downside was that they didn’t have enough duck left! So we could only order 2 duck dishes instead of 4. Don’t forget to look at the artwork behind the door. 50 cents for a gallop…

Lovely place, good food. Friendly staff. Make sure you call and reserve first, it's a small place.

The food was delicious and staff very friendly. I would recommend the beef as a main. It’s very tender and cooked in an amazing mushroom sauce

Google
A quiet small yet fantastic place. Coming from the US my goal was to try the horse. Upon arriving for lunch I learned it was only a dinner item. Upon asking they had no problem cooking for me. The staff is very pleasant (FYI they speak little to no English) and kind. The rest of my family had other menu items which they all greatly enjoyed.

We arrived early for our reservation and didn't realize we were the first dinner diners of the night. We bumped in the owner of the restaurant between his wine store across the street and he not only opened the restaurant early for us he gave us complimentary wine to go along with our dinner. I wanted to try horse meat and a real Parisian restaurant and I couldn't have made a better choice with this place.

Yelp
If you want something exotic and different, this is the perfect place for you away from the typical French cuisine. Wanna try horse? This place is located 2 mins from the metro in a small alley. Very cozy setting and the menu is on the wall including horse brain appetizer to horse sausage plate. Main dish including fish, cuttlefish, chicken, horse steak. All the dishes cooked in unique way. I ended up had a horse sausage plate to share, including 4 types of sausage made from Different parts of the horse. And one horse pate. And a horse steak, you don't get to choose how to cook, the chef made it the way best taste for this kind of meat. It cooked medium with outside perfectly charcoaled. The horse meat tastes sweeter than beef. They also have a very big list of wine, also have a full bar. The wine comes from across the street the wine shop, seems like they are the same owner. The restaurant manager runs the restaurant by himself seems like it's a family business. He even suggested a good glass of wine to pair with what we ordered. Had a great time and amazing food. Highly recommended.

Yelp
French people eat there. We ordered 3 different dishes, all good. Chardonnay 2015 was amazing!!!!!!

Yelp
This place was amazing. Probably my favorite meal in Paris. Went here to try the horse. Went at lunch time and usually horse is only available for dinner. Fortunately, the chef was more than accommodating and brought me horse steak. The meal was absolutely breathtaking. The real surprise of this place was the wine. The chef chose wines that complimented the meals perfectly. They even sell bottles to go. The service was above amazing. Hard to find, because it is in an alley, but a hidden treasure once you find it. Great place. A+ in my book.

Yelp
Disappointing that the chef/owner would not acknowledge that the pintade was overcooked. So, I paid the bill. Poor hospitality.

Yelp
We came to this restaurant looking to try horse. There was no horse steak on the menu that night, only heart. I'm glad, because I would not have tried it otherwise and the heart was unique and delicious. Both appetizers we tried, the fois gras artichoke and the snail croquettes, were also very tasty. The restaurant was small -- only seven tables and one waiter. Despite all his tables, the waiter managed to be both attentive and friendly. It made for a nice cozy environment.

Yelp
Excellent dinner! From starter, main course to desert! Fantastic at all! I ordered horse meat and my wife tried lamb neck which are all delicious and good-looking! This is really how French dish performed! And the owner is very nice and take care of us. 一百个赞!

Yelp
Thank you! Best meal we had in Paris! Service was exquisite, friendly, patient (given our lack of French) Truly, made for a wonderful evening. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Excellent place for a nice dinner in Paris. We spent the most incredible four hours of our lives enjoying the most exquisite flavors. Otis, the chef/owner/waiter will help you choose the perfect matching drinks to take with each part of your dinner. Just follow his recommendations. The best part of the whole dinner was the horse meat. I recommend to try it. It is really good!!!

Yelp
Le Taxi Jaune is a small semi-fancy restaurant. The dishes are presented as art: the artichoke stuffed with foies gras - the pigeon beautifully displayed on the plate - the staff is lovely, the chef more than happy to answer questions about the dishes or just have a chat.

Yelp
We had the best meal of our two week trip here. The owner prepares, cooks, serves everything and the care and pride shows through. He explained every item on the menu and how it was made, how long it was cooked and this helped us order things we may not have from just reading the (hand written check board) menu by ourselves. The restaurant is small and popular and doesn't open until 8pm so reservations are recommended. The wine list is fabulous. We were a party of 6 and so were able to try just about everything on the menu. The horse charcuterie and smoked herring and eel starters were stunning. For main course, the horse steak was beautifully tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. We also tried the braised pork cheek, caillette (kind of liver meat loaf, slow cooked) and a rabbit dish made with slow cooked rabbit in full pastry. Each dish was perfectly cooked and presented and came out hot with a selection of interesting vegetables and complementing sauces. If I have any complaints it would be that I could have eaten more. We had one of each dessert, and even desserts I would never have chosen were delicious - I hate rum baba normally, but would have ordered a second portion here as it was light with a perfect combination of sweetness and liquor. We had the best cheese I've ever eaten. We came on a Thursday evening, arriving at 7.30pm but service didn't start until 8.20pm ish. We stayed around four hours, ate everything on offer, drank four bottles of excellent wine and the bill was just over €400.

Yelp
A fantastic experience and great French food. Lovingly prepared and served by the impeccably mannered Otis who was helpful and sweet. Cosy and kitsch decor and felt like a true French place. We had the braised beef and it was divine, as was everything we ate. Figs for dessert a must. Big thank you Otis!!!

Yelp
On our last night in Paris we had a wonderful dinner at this small, cozy restaurant. The chef took our our order and then went in to cook it. We had four very good entrees from the daily board, duck, rabbit, horse and lamb's tongue. We all loved the atmosphere and the service. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

Yelp
The service was a bit slow for a lunch but the food was excellent! There's was not a lot on the plate but enough :)

Yelp
Both service and food were excellent and we enjoyed the experience. Menu changes with the seasons.

Yelp
Went here with a group of 6. The food was amazing from start to finish and presentation was beautiful. Equally impressive was the service. These are some of the nicest people I feel like I have ever come across. The waitress and the chef could NOT have been any nicer or provided better service. I will visit here again and I would highly recommend it. Excellent experience all around!

Yelp
I had my birthday dinner here a few weeks ago with two of my friends. We were one of three tables there, and it was a lovely, quiet slow-paced meal. The chef talked to us quite a bit, went over the menu and recommended wines based on our meal choices and our likes. I had the croquettes d'escargot, which were like cream of snails in a deep fried cube. It was quite rich, I barely finished the two. As the main, I had grilled lamb kidneys on seasonal vegetables. It was amazing. I asked for them to be pink, and they were perfectly cooked - with that nice crunch of fresh kidneys and a bit of a chew. For dessert, we had a very simple apple tart that was more apple than tart, with creme fraiche on top. It was also very simple and very done. My friends got the horse stew and the guinea fowl. The friend who got the guinea fowl said it was the best thing she'd ever ever had and she couldn't stop raving about the meal (she was also two glasses drunk). Anyway, it was a lovely birthday meal!

Yelp
We came for the horse, but it was not on the lunch menu. No problem at all though, the waitress asked the chef, and he was happy to put something together for us. We started with a charcuterie plate (horse of course) followed by horse heart, lightly seared. It was fantastic - best meal I had in Paris!

Yelp
Excellent place! The owner/chef personally took care of us and really cares about the food and service. Everything we tried was excellent, especially the horse steak. This is one of the few restaurants that still serves horse on the menu and we went here to try it. I have to say it tasted great, kind of like elk. Highly recommend this place.
