Cuisine française, comfort food. The quality is uneven but can be quite good. I had a splendid Temps des Cérises platter with duck confit one time, and an overcooked, unsalted steak-frites the next. I asked for salt and ate it anyway since it was not bad, it just wasn't the way I ordered it. Still, it's fun to sit at the street-side tables and people watch in this lively neighborhood. Service is OK, but the place is busy and it's hard to get their attention.

When I was young, some years ago 😊, la butte aux cailles used to be a trendy area of Paris for the youth... I don't know if it's still the case but for me at least the district has a lot of charm yet and this restaurant has some too. Service is fast and kind, food is nice, traditional, and white wines are enjoyable like the Chablis. I was very happy to get this back to the future "parenthesis".

Really charming place. Great food, friendly stuff. The place has a really nice vibe to eat. It's not a posh place where everyone is on their most refined behaviour, and it's not a touristy place pandering to the kitsch. Instead, you see all around you people who come for good food and good company. People are lively, friendly and relaxed. Feels like home.

This place is a exceptional and represents a certain idea of French culture. It is located in top of the Butte aux Cailles on its main street. The place itself has no frills but holds such a special atmosphere that you won't find many other places. The servers are to the point. They have been here for a while and are not taking any nonsense. Personally, I find that it adds to the character of the restaurant. The food is delicious, usually traditional, fares and served in good quantity. The prices are quite good. This is one of my favorite places in the city but understand that some people may not find it to their taste. To these, I would suggest to come with open mind and enjoy!

I don’t know if its my luck or its always like that. The steak was so chewy and hard to cut even with the knife, the fries and melted cheese were so good though. The ice cream was ok.

Probably the worst bistro food I've had in over 4 years in Paris. The tragedy is that the location and the look of the restaurant are both fantastic but the food was appalling. Basics like an unseasoned s teak, 1980s bag salad on the corner of each plate like decorations and mystery flavourless sauce drenching every dish. You have to work really hard to produce food like this with so little love. Time for a revolution in the kitchen.

I went for steak-frites and I wasn't disappointed. Great restaurant, very laid back and affordable. The staff is also very nice.

Great spot in the Butte aux Cailles neighborhood, run as a cooperative, so a real tribute to the ideals of the Communards (who had history in the area). Surrounded by interesting street art, the food was good, & prices fair.
