Le Tire Bouchon

Best food we eat in Calvi. But the worst food in Croatia is much better than this. Not the worst part. We saw what others eat here. Asked what is that. And the waitress said in france language and that the left without. Later we saw another food, spaghetti that looked good but not in the menu they gave us. So for tourists they charge expencive bad food and locals eat something good tourists can't even order because it is not offered.

After an excellent starter of delicious moules I was excited for the main course of “sauté de veau aux olives” which normally is a big dish of meat and olives for the expensive price of 22Euros. I was really surprised that it was just 3 cubes of meat with….. SPAGHETTI?! No mention of spaghetti on the menu or by the waitress and I’d spoken in French. When it arrived I said in French, I was sorry if I’d misunderstood but it wasn’t what I was expecting from the menu?! A pasta dish wasn’t what was on the menu and with so very small an amount of meat. I said I’d been expecting a bigger pieces of meat…. She said “well you know for future not to order it again!” So so rude… ! No apology or offer of more meat. She asked if I’d like potato?! I explained I’d expected more pieces of meat from the menu.. but she just shrugged. I left the majority as it was 90% spaghetti and 10% meat. After the starter I asked “if she had anything to clean the hands” she just said “no!” I dipped my serviette in the wine bucket water in the end. So frustrating!

Cute, cozy little restaurant in the shadow of the citadel. Friendly, warm and relaxed. Lovely charcuterie et fromages

We were there in November when everything else was closed down. We popped in there because it was raining and we didn’t want to keep searching. We had a great dinner of fresh veal sausage and lentil. Very delicious!

Never go there! Meat terrible. Chewy and uneatable. Shame how they treat guests. We paid 72 euoros and took three bites each. Left restaurant. Chef threatened guests!
