Very well located in the heart of the old town, this traditional local restaurant serves the classic dishes from the region. Unfortunately they were running out of quenelle but the andouillette were pretty good! The staff was friendly too although a bit busy sometimes.

Terribly disappointed by the whole experience. We arrived without a booking and a table was offered for which we were grateful. The waiter came, we had a good conversation and done the order. My beer arrived. But my partner's Kir royal was wrong. Given it was so expensive such mistake was unbelievable. They changed it and given us the right Kir royal. We started drinking and admiring the decor as well as gave our thanks. We were not even 5/7 mins in the drinking, the Main course arrived!!!!!!!!! We been to hundreds of restaurants within Europe and Asia but main course arriving so quickly, even before the apero finished never happened. We wanted to order a wine but didn't get the chance as our first drink was not half finished. The anduillete was good. But my entrecote, one of the most expensive on the menu, was tasty yet too small. And the side was just mashed potatoes. I was gobsmacked. Never had such small portion for such high price. Furthermore we ordered a cafe latte, we got cafe espresso with milk on top, which was again the smallest we ever had. All this happened within 15 mins as we felt we were rushed to leave. I asked for the bill which I was told will arrive soon. After 15 mins of waiting, when it didn't arrive I asked for it again and was told that I have to pay at the counter. I wish I was told earlier than waiting for so long. Anyway, we went and paid and left. Overall a very VERY disappointing experience. We have been to many places but for the value for money, and service, it was an absolute fail. Never again.

Mixed feelings about this one. On the plus note, the food is good and tasty, the Foie Gras was really great. The wine list is great as well. But there are 2 big downsides. First of all, despite the name and the location, it is not a Bouchon. We were expecting proper lyonnaise cuisine and it wasn't the case. Though to be honest it's also our fault, we should have double checked the menu, we only assumed it was a Bouchon because of its name and because it was in the vieux Lyon. Then the prices are a bit expensive. As mentioned above, the food was nice and tasty but I think a 15% cheaper bill would be more in accordance with what was delivered.

While a bit expensive, it's super delicious! Very tasty foods on all courses. Appetizer - main and dessert was top notch. Recommended if you're after high quality food. Staff is very friendly. The chef came to our table to ask if we liked the meal.

The menu was delightful, with small plates to share it was great to try lyonnaise dishes and inventive new ones. Loved the chevelle des canuts, and the gazpacho was ridiculously good. Also liked the selection of wines by the glass, always a nice touch.

The ONE Best Dish

Unfortunately we were disappointed. Service friendly. Dishes eaten: = Gazpacho: good, but overpriced + Foie Gras: very Good - Risotto with St. Jacques clams: horrible texture of the risotto; we sent it back twice; the second time they brought the same clams, which were obviously only half warm then; the cook greeted all tables, but didn’t have the courage to face us + Cote de cochons: nice, a but not enough sauce

Google
Food was excellent, only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of feel like the portions were extremely small. Aside from that, the food is top, service is great, cute atmosphere.

Yelp
Went today for lunch.... No reservation ... Very welcomed and given a great table ... Has an upstairs but down were maybe places for about 30 covers..... Started with a Kia Royale for my daughter and a G &T for myself .... Escargot with mashed potatoes and also Foie Gras for starters .... Fish which was outstanding she had and I the Lyonnaisse Sauccisson ... Both were outstanding ..... A chocolate Cake with Ice Cream and also a cheese dessert spread which had a hint of cucumber I believe .... All was outstanding and the service was first class... Tipped 30% because they deserved it..... Was not expensive .... Value I would say .... All in under 45 Euros each.... Would have paid 100....

Yelp
Great place, very friendly service, nice simple menu for 21€. I had the 3 course menu of: Blood sausage and Apple tart. Pike mousseline in crawfish bisque. Panna Cotta. To make a long story short, it was all great. The pike was super fishy, I would have added a touch of aromatics to three mousseline to cut that slightly. The Panna Cotta I cannot be sure what I was, the 2 dominate flavors for me were strawberry and cream. Either way, the Panna Cotta was the server's recommendation, and it was fantastic.

Yelp
I eat for a living ... and this was eating! Fantastic! I let the hostess choose my meal since I am travelling through and know nothing of the region. She brought oeufs meurette, followed by a mousseline de brochet. The culmination was the strudel covered with a coffee mousse and vanilla cream topped off with and mint vervenne. Wonderful. Merci

Yelp
Fell in love with Old Lyon, and while there were many restaurants to choose from in this charming area, I give this one a sold four stars for both service and food. The three course tasting menu was delicious all the way from the foie gras through to dessert, and affordable as well.

Yelp
Excellent example of classic Lyonnaise Buchon cuisine with a few modern touches. Five in our party, we opted for the standard three course menu one at 27 euro and one at 35 euro. My tuna tatami starter was absolutely fantastic. Cucumber gazpacho was amazing and my daughter scarfed done the escargot in a foamed sauce. (Must be the "grey stuff" from Beauty and the Beast". I had the "suggestion of the moment" for the main course and others in the party had Andoiuette (french menudo) which is a classic Buchon dish. The other classic lyonnaise dish is delicious puffy thing made of egg, flour, semolina and fish in a shrimp sauce, the name escapes me. The house Beaujolais is excellent and the cheese course was fantastic.

Yelp
If you find yourself in this part of the city and need to eat, this is a lovely choice. Interesting intersection of bouchon plus ... foam. Overall great flavors and good quality fixed menu/price.

Yelp
This unexpected find was one of the best places to eat I have had in France. In a city full of restaurants everything our large group of 8 had was amazing. Even the children's dishes were amazing. Don't walk RUN to this place before it gets its first star and becomes impossible to get a table at!!!!

Yelp
Le Tire Bouchon was absolutely excellent. Excellently presented food with much attention to detail in the combination of flavors. Not at all your typical Bouchon. This was my favorite restaurant in Lyon by far.

Yelp
Great menu at 21€. The boudin noir with apple entree was super, the pintade was perfectly cooked and the cheesecake dessert was to die for. Definitely will go back !

Yelp
Though I am an American I came with a fluent French speaker. The resturant is in a nice area and next to two smaller restaurants.... you should go to one of them. The service here was slow, the entrees arrived at the same time as two of the four appetizers, the soup was cold, the plate of cheese/patte appetizer had no cheese. The food was good, but the service could not get out of its own way to make this enjoyable experience. The prices were reasonable for the area, but so many things were wrong I can not understand why people would come twice.
