Me and my partner came here for our last night in Paris and all we can say is it was perfect. From the food, to the service from Jacques to the view of the Eiffel Tower at night. I had the steak and my partner had the duck breast, the food was phenomenal and it was my first time having escargot and it was perfect. The souffle was gorgeous. We truly can’t fault anything and would love to return in the future.

Had a really delicious dinner here - the souffle was one of the most delicious things I ate in Paris, cannot recommend highly enough!!

Excellent lentil soup with smoked bacon ( what a winter treat) and the scallop plate tops my cravings, very well done and creatively. The penna cotta dessert is great except the kiwi is still quite young….overall service is great and prompt. I am going to add this shop my repeat next time i am in town…..

The server is good and the food is also satisfactory except one of the main dishes. One main dish(Cod) was good, but is it normal that the duck is served as almost rare? The wing was cooked normal but the roast was… As you can see in the picture, it’s rather bloody raw meat. Furthermore, the knife wasn’t well sharpened so it was very hard for me to cut the duck to eat. Maybe it’s because that I’m not familiar with the mallard duck, but I’m still confused whether the problem was mine or theirs.

Really great experience. Take your time & translate the menu perhaps, we had a friend to help. Only bad thing to say is they were out of the ‘steak for 2’ which I intended to have. But my pork was so very good, I might have gotten the better end of that situation. Highly recommend the pork belly appetizer, with razor clams, so good!!

If you’re looking for a quiet place to have a hearty meal in Paris, this is the place. Our entire group opted for the Entrée + Plat + Dessert menu and there were plenty of options. I chose the gaspacho de tomates (tomato gazpacho), joues de porc (pork cheek), and soufflé. Everything was delicious. The waiter was friendly & helpful and offered us a seat outside to enjoy the beautiful evening.

Jaque was one of the best servers I've ever had in paris. The food was incredible the duck was stunning and the snails with chozio was incredible. The soufelle was amazing too. Amazing wine selection too couldn't recommend enough. Amazing views also of effiel tower.

Charming restaurant, excellent views, and Eiffel Tower views from outside. The soufflé is exquisite—perfect composition and marvelous flavor.

Yelp
Terrible. Absolutely terrible. If you want waiters to snicker at you, neglect and give you garbage service, do come here. Otherwise, avoid at all costs. This place is trash.

Yelp
Today I'd like to share with you a long overdue post on one of the most lovely restaurants I visited during my trip to Paris. Le Troquet is one those places that just make me happy, I could've eaten there everyday that trip and be extremely content. Le Troquet is a small charming restaurant in the 15th with traditional cuisine, and as my local friend told me, always super busy. On the day we visited the place was packed. Lucky us, we managed to get a table without a reservation. Ha! The restaurant offers a 3-course menu, but you can also order some extra side dishes. All dishes are written down on chalkboards which together with the friendly service, the very good food and the homely presentation of the dishes themselves give the place an effortless warm French vibe. On the whole, I'd say Le Troquet is a great restaurant for a relaxed, cosy dinner with your date or some good friends.

Yelp
Wow, if you want to have authentic French food in an excellent setting, this is a Must go to restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was unbelievable.

Yelp
We stayed in an apartment right next door to Le Troquet and it was PACKED every night, packed as in you couldn't get a seat. We had lunch here one day to see what all the fuss was about and wow, it was good. It's real French food and cooked perfectly. The mother & daughter (I think) who work here are wonderful people and very helpful. If you want to eat here, I would probably recommend going at lunch or making a reservation as it fills up quickly. Great food!.. and wine ;)

Yelp
A somewhat mixed review for Le Troquet. Yes this was an authentic French restaurant with a cute decor. I thoroughly enjoyed my jumbo prawn entree, duck main, and profiterole dessert. However my boyfriends duck entree and fish main were bland. The service was generally quite good, we needed some help with the menu (all in French with some words which we couldn't translate) but the waitress translated it for us. We had to wait a long while for our entree plates to be cleared and for our bill to come. All in all I would come back and order the same dishes!

Yelp
Wanted to love it but i just couldn't. Even if the food was over the top, the service was neglectful, even by Parisian standards. The decor is charming and warm, its a perfect winter spot. They only give you two choices of the degustasion (7 courses) or the menu of entree, plat and dessert. We didn't want dessert but had no choice. The basque food is normally rich and flavorful with a kick. This was creamy, and bland. I didn't feel good or light when I left.

Yelp
I went here with a new friend and the both of us loved it. This eatery was packed at 8pm, so be sure to call or stop by to make your reservations. The food was very well prepared and the service excellent. I had the duck.... it was maybe one of the better I have ever eaten(I have eaten a LOT of duck). The veggies were very nicely done and the wine list was expansive. Attn: although they had a great list, the first few we asked for were no longer available. But, we went with it. Over all the experience in this well light place that had a ton of well behaved dogs was super. My only negative was that the bread was a bit stale. Probably form the afternoon's lunch. A pity... bread should be fresh. But, go. you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Mauvais accueil A very unpleasant experience at the restaurant Le Troquet, 21 rue Francois Bonvin, 75015. Thursday, April 14th 8:00 pm I arrived by taxi to meet a group of seven friends who were reserved at this restaurant. The taxi not having enough change didn't seem like such a big deal but when I entered the restaurant from the pouring rain I was greeted with unfriendly glares. I explained that I was part of a party of seven and could they please give me change for the taxi. Not getting any response, even though I speak perfect French, I asked again and was coldly told by the maitre d' from behind the bar that, 'no', he only had change for his clients. I repeated that I was a reserved client there to eat with seven friends to which he again coldly responsed that I was not a client until I had eaten and paid for my meal. Totally surprised I said, 'well that's nice'. He then came aggresively from behind the bar, got right in my face and told me I would take off my coat, then he pointed to a rack and told me he would hang it up, I would then sit down and I would shut up and not cause a scandal in the restaurant! Flabbergasted I looked at my equally shocked friends, who are mostly fluent in French, long term residents of Paris and some of us married to Frenchmen. We immediately decided this was too much and got up to leave at which point he told me I was a vulgar woman! we are a group of seven women, all mothers of twins going out for our monthly Twin Mom's Night Out to dinner to discuss babies, mostly the daily routine and raising of twins. You can imagine we were thinking we were in for a much deserved, quiet, relaxing evening. We are not a rowdy, scandulous bunch and definately not a vulgar group of women. But it doesn't end there...once on the street the 'patron' came out and introduced himself. We mistakenly thought he was going to apologize and try to regain our business. Oh no, that was the furthest thing from his mind. He continued to yell at us and wanted us off 'his' sidewalk in the pouring rain as we waited for the rest of our party to join us. He then screamed at us that he was from the Basque region and that he didn't like Americans and didn't want us in his restaurant and didn't need our business. We are an International mix of Franco-Australian, American, Scottish, Indien, and Mexican women though we were speaking to him in French, English is our common language. He then told us as he was flinging his arms and spraying us with spit to leave, that we were all 'M_RD_!!! In my seven years in Paris this is the one and only time I've been witness to any anti-Americanism much less such a blatant display. This is also the first time I've ever felt it necessary to write about such treatment in a French restaurant that is recommended by many English-speaking guide books. But it does have a happy ending...after walking for 20 minutes in the rain we luckily found ourselves whisked in off the street by a kind doorman at a charming & delicious Lebanese restaurant on the Blvd. Garibaldi. There we were treated with the respect and courtesy deserving of any client in any restaurant anywhere in our world.
