Yelp
Le Tsuba was an experience of contrasts. On one hand, the hotel is nicely positioned, on the night we stayed here was very well priced and quite impressive in its design for a four star European property. On the other hand, the bedding and service element is severely lacking. There are many beautiful Art Deco elements, gorgeous detailed tile in the lobby and lots of space.
Part I: Reservations and Checkin (3/5)
When making the reservation at a four star hotel, my mind does not even wonder to think that the hotel might only have synthetic pillows. Upon discovering that on earlier on day before checking in, attempts to cancel the reservation were met with a mix of commentary, eventually stating that it will not be cancelled for 72 hours and they must send an email to someone or approval. That was obviously too late at that point and to avoid having two hotel charges that night, decided to proceed with the stay. Not the most efficient of reservation approaches, but it is what it is. Arriving, the checkin was quick, kind and efficient.
Part II: Lobby Design and Room (4/5)
Stepping into the lobby and admiring its beauty, it's hard to picture this hotel as a four star property. It is very beautiful, welcoming and a joy to be in. Even the exterior adds lots of character to the neighborhood. The room is pleasant, contemporary and fresh. There were easily accessible USB ports and all was clean.
Part III: Comfort (1/5)
It is beyond my comprehension how a four star property would not put feather or down pillows in the room in addition to synthetic. To make matters worse, they don't even have any available for guests upon requests. It is such a simple, basic ask from a hotel in this range. The mattress was also a sad attempt at a mattress. Ended up having to sleep without a pillow at all. Otherwise the room was bare able in its size, two people can get around it without bumping into one another. The bathroom is small, but about what one would expect in the center of the city.
Due to a personal pillow preference, I can't say I'd stay at the Le Tsuba ever again to get a comfortable night's sleep. If that does not matter to you, other elements of the hotel are surprisingly nice, clean and pleasant.
