Stayed for a week half board. Food was brilliant and the hotel is right on the slopes. Room was spotless and large. Staff super helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed our stay. We had a balcony with amazing views. Ski room was a little cramped. Sauna and steam room were great.

Amazing ski-in and ski-out location. You put on your skis and down you to go to the slopes! When the day is over you go back to the locker where a nice cookie and refreshments are awaiting, a nice-to-have. Also, the spa has an amazing view to the mountain. The only small downside would be the room size - it was a little tight for a couple and our luggage.

The Val Thorens is a perfect location right in the very centre of the ski area two to three minutes to ski to 5 different lifts. We stayed in a beautiful, well equipped room on the 4th floor, overlooking the outside bar. The bed was super comfortable, I wish I slept as well at home! The big shower was the best I have experienced in the Alps, great after a full day skiing. Big shout out to the cleaners who kept the room spotless. Breakfast and dinner were fabulous, with a great selection and a very good option for vegetarian dinner every night. We tried the Fondue restaurant on a couple of nights and dinner there was exceptional too. The large ski locker assigned to our room could have accommodated equipment for 4 persons. Finally a big thanks to the staff in the hotel who were very attentive, helpful and very welcoming. I would most definitely recommend the Val Thorens for a great week skiing.

This hotel is well positioned for ski in and ski out. The bar was great and the terrace. We didn't eat in the restaurant only for breakfast which was good if you get there early. Our room was small and well equipped but we were too hot and had to open the window which meant that we didn't sleep well. The noise in the town goes on till gone 3 am. People shouting in the street till all hours. If I went again, I would make sure to be higher up and away from the town.|The spa was okay, pool - a good temperature with a few jets for your legs, thighs etc. The sauna and steam room were nice.|We would have liked tomatoes at breakfast but if you love pastries, you will love it.

Shared a twin room with a slopes view for four nights in February, on my first ever ski trip. Brilliant location, well placed both to walk into any of the spots in town, or to ski in and out of. Room was as small as a twin could be without becoming cramped. Plenty of storage, good sized bathroom and a decent balcony (shared with another room). Negatives were that water pressure was pretty weak in the shower, and the room was quite warm most nights, even with the radiator off. Opening a window not an option unless you go to bed after all the partying has stopped. Spa was very nice and modern, but missing a hot tub, though the pool was warm and had powerful massage jets, so almost ticked the same box. Gym is small and basic, cardio machines only. Ski room was a bit outdated and not up to the same standards in terms of decor and facilities as the spas, but certainly did the job. We rented skis from the shop next door and stored them here every night. We had a B+B rate and breakfast was good. We had lunch there one day too, and enjoyed that. Food and drinks all reasonably priced for the area, which is to say they're very expensive but no more than anywhere else of similar quality in town.

We stayed at Le Val Thorens for 6 days in January and truly enjoyed our stay. This was our first time in Val Thorens - we used to go to Courchevel before but wanted to try Val Thorens due to better snow and skiing quality (which turned out to be 100% accurate).||We decided on Le Val Thorens after reading the reviews and couldn't be happier with our choice. To summarize the positives:||- Super helpful staff prior to and during the visit. Reception and concierge were very friendly and responsive before the stay as well as during the stay and helped us with room choices, dinner reservations and ski school bookings. Some staff didn't speak very well English but overall great, excellent service. Special shout out to Pauline who was very friendly and helpful.||- Very nice and modern hotel. Especially when compared with Courchevel 1850, you are definitely getting better experience for your buck. Better furniture, more elegant design, better specced and more spacious rooms, better food, better service etc. Plus spa - pool area, albeit a little small is very clean and well equipped and certainly provides a nice relaxation spot after a day on the slopes. It would be fair to say you'd have to pay 1.5x the price to get the same quality of a hotel in Courchevel.||- Excellent location. Along with Le Fitz Roy (which belongs to the same group and is literally next door) this is unarguably the best location in Val Thorens. Directly in the center of town, walking distance to all the restaurants, ski-in ski-out which definitely helps with a 5-year old, in-house ski rental and ski room etc. The outside eating area also boasts a nice view of Val Thorens and the mountains which is a plus.||Small note on improvement areas:|- The room (Privilege Room) was a tad smaller than we expected although definitely a large room in ski resorts standards||- Our room's cleanliness wasn't impeccable when we arrived but we understood that was due to a broken elevator (fixed that day) which led to delays in moving around the cleaning equipment. Overall cleanliness of the hotel and the room was very good later on.||- This might seem a bit of nitpicking but the hotel needs to enforce a "dress-code" in public areas. In all hotels / resorts there are rules about wearing a shirt in dinner areas etc. In this case, a lot of guests were going to the spa / pool in their bathrobes (which is perfectly ok) but then heading to the bar / restaurant areas in bathrobes as well. Sitting next to 8 dudes in bathrobes in a bar while trying to enjoy your drink is a bit awkward :)||Nonetheless, we had a great experience overall and would definitely stay here again.

Room and location was fantastic. However, whilst our room was being cleaned it appears that earphones were taken. We always leave the earphones in our room in a specific location. The afternoon we noticed them gone we could track them, and saw them leave the hotel around 5pm and return to the hotel at 9am every morning for 5 days. We had visited reception and asked for their assistance every day in tracking them, showing in the app and attempting to track them ourselves through the app. The majority of Staff were not very helpful and no action was taken. One member of staff supposedly spoke to the housekeeping staff with no further response. Pretty disappointed with how theft was dealt with among staff. I can still see the earphones move to and from the hotel from back home in Australia. And now can see that the staff member must have returned home for the end of snow season ! Apart from that, everything else was great. Happy to discuss further with management and can update this poor review if we receive any service or assistance.

Positives - Location was great, walk out of the hotel in the morning and you are on the slopes. Food was great, every evening we had a great meal. All the staff were lovely and always smiling. Room were comfy and the maids did a nice job.|Negatives - The WiFi was absolutely awful despite the fact you could connect to the hotel network successfully there was still no signal. Several of us ran businesses back in the UK so WiFi was essential. The beer in the hotel bar was either flat Carlsberg (served in the wrong glasses) or an IPA. No Guiness which was a shame.|Overall a good stay but please sort out the WiFi and drinks situation!
