One of the best patisseries in Paris. My French teacher from Paris highly recommended this and so I came here with my family on a Sunday afternoon. We sat on the second floor but there is seating in the passage way as well. They do have wine in addition to coffee, hot chocolate, and tea. We tried the pistachio tart, the acrulier (like a fancier Ferrero rocher) and Kalingo (a chocolate cake). I had the gunpowder green tea while my sister had the hot chocolate. I honestly liked their hot chocolate more than the one at Angelina. It was rich but not chalky and the perfect amount of sweetness. The pistachio tart was the best one we’ve ever had and revived our spirits after a long day of walking. You pay downstairs and credit cards are accepted.

Google
Their tea was so flavorful and I got like 3-4 cups out of it. My friends had the cappuccino & pistachio dessert. I had the kalingo dessert. Both were expertly made and so indulgently tasty.

Google
The pistachio tart was one of the best pastries my boyfriend and I have ever eaten. 8€ to go and worth every penny. They had a delicious looking selection and a cute little tea room. I would highly recommend!

Best breakfast in town. Great selection of baked goods, teas and coffee. Amazing hand made croissants. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. ❤️👌

Google
We were visiting the local covered passages, so popped in for a drink, and decided to have a light lunch of Quiche of the day with a green salad. There was a choice of 3 quiches, but we went for the traditional Quiche Loraine. It was very tasty and the salad dressing was delicious. The staff were very friendly. It was a cosy relaxed atmosphere.

Great cafe with breakfast options. Located in an antiqua passage.

We discovered this cafe by accident while visiting the Passage Jouffroy. It was one of the best experiences we had in Paris. Super friendly stuff, amazing food and cozy environment. Would definitely recommend any visitor in the area to give it a try.

Google
Coffees were okay. Pastries, however, superb. Highly recommend the mont blanc and strawberry tart. The crusts tasted fresh and buttery. Fillings and toppings were perfectly sweet and balanced. I will say that prices are definitely on the higher side of the spectrum. But, if you do want a high-quality pastry, I'd suggest coming here. Maybe get a tea rather than a coffee.

Yelp
This lovely cafe is hidden away in an alley but it is worth the hunt! The pastries are marvelous and the tea service sublime. The staff speaks English fairly well. Pay at the counter! The restroom is very dated, but at least there is one toilette!

Yelp
Cute little shop in the Passage Jouffroy. Warm welcome, pleasant staff, great selection of teas and pastries. They have a breakfast menu from 8:30 to 11:45 every morning. Nice place, tasty treats and teas! It's a win!

Yelp
"Mon petit Claire, you were not the ball and chain! You are the Zeppelin!" - Paris, je t'aime Do you believe in serendipity like I do? I was walking solo thru the historic Passage Jouffroy, tiled walkway with high glass ceiling, around since 1836, is when i first met Le Valentin. Nestled between French cafés, boutiques, and a bookstore or two, is where you'll find lovely her! She looks so tempting! Oooh la la! On a whim I decide on breakfast. And oui oui let me tell you how serendipity was alive and well for this Monsieur. I am warmly greeted in French is when I decided to sit and eat a warm breakfast like a true Parisian would do. Café seats on the walkway, this time I decide to dine inside to soak up the interior vibe. Such a warm and delicious ambiance with baked pastries, breads, & confections everywhere! I am handed the menu, all in French mind you, after all, we are in Paris, right?! ;) After perusing the menu and suggestions from the lovely all-in-one, hostess, waitress, barista... I decide on a breakfast set. My choice of scrambled eggs & bacon, fresh garden salad paired perfectly with light dressing, Pain au chocolat and le nutty toast with the freshest Fig jam brought a perfect balance to life. Freshly squeezed Orange juice to compliment & oh la la Cappuccino! The most adorable Parisian barista made me forget about yesterday. She was not only just the hostess, waitress, barista, but also a darn good singer :D As I enjoyed breakfast, I looked at all the patrons around me, tourists, Parisians, a toddler pointing at all the boujee confections, and the lovely lady sipping Latté in one lonely corner. Everyone seemed so happy. A moment in time that will live in me forever je t'aime

Yelp
Came here with a colleague while waiting for dinner. Only got an espresso but it was like rocket fuel in the best way. I was jettlagged and left here thinking I'd drank 67 cups of coffee. Got a second espresso but didn't finish it, imagine not finishing an espresso. Anyway we sat in the outside hall and felt very French even though we are clearly tourists. Solid espresso.

Yelp
Heavenly croissants that are light and flaky. The first bite was oh so wonderful. I unfortunately did not dine in, but the inside is very cute and varying options of pasties and quiches. The location is in a passageway with some cute shops. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
A stunning bakery in a beautiful passage in Paris. Excellent cakes and jelly. I will definitely revisit. Be sure and say please and thank you in French.

Yelp
In Paris, Passage Jouffroy is one of several historic passageways that provide shortcuts through large blocks of buildings. Many of them now host restaurants, eateries, shops, and even a hotel. Inside Passage Jouffroy, is one of the BEST bakery, dessert, tea, coffee, sweets shop in the area. In Paris, there are quite a few bakeries that offer gorgeous desserts. The hours of such shops typically close at the 6pm. If you want some, you'll need to time it as tea time, lunch, or go for broke and eat them any time! During our trip, we kept wanting them after dinner but none is available by then. On the last day of our trip, we splurged on some morning calories and ate dessert for breakfast!! Of the three we chose: Chocolate hazelnut - This is a chocolate shelled cake with a filling. Our server didn't speak English, but she gestured that it's her favorite! Lemon Raspberry - Look-wise, this one is the prettiest. The French pastries have this elegance of a dainty cake bottom, some filling, and a gorgeous outer shell. Awesome! Rum cake - I was curious on what the little ball was and ordered it. Turns out it's additional rum sugar sauce that you squeeze and soak up with the cake. It's delicious, but a solid 3rd place compared to the other two. Definitely prioritize some calories and time to consume desserts while in Paris. This is a top notch location for such treats. It's very near metro 8 and 9.

Yelp
What a fantastic place, we found it when shopping and decided to come back for lunch, boy are we glad we did, everything we had was excellent, a true French tea house with great food. But the desert was the Star of the show, unbelievable, everything looked wonderful but most importantly it tasted just as good as it looked, which in many cases it looks good but does not taste very good, not the case here,I wish we were staying here longer because I would be coming back here every day.

Yelp
A quick pop into this tasty little shop. It was quite nice to learn they did speak English and seemed quite okay to do so, which is not always the case. Everything looked wonderful and made it hard to decide what to purchase. A nice selection of loose leaf teas to go with the baked treats. Do make a stop in!

Yelp
Perfection! We ordered Quiche Lorraine and also some amazing desserts and wine. I have never ever had such an exquisite quiche. The BEST. The inside is so wonderfully decorated. Its warm and quaint and beautiful. Very French! One of my very favorite places that we visited in Paris.....and we visited MANY. I hope to return one day!

Yelp
Came here for a mid morning snack. We ordered coffee, 2 croissants, the muscovado, and two quiches. The coffee was not anything to praise but the rest was wonderful. The quiches were filling and warm, the dessert was full of nutty flavor, and the croissants were delicious. Overall great eat and experience!

Yelp
We love this place so much, we started our days with breakfast here during our trip. Our only regret was we wished we could've tried everything. My suggestion is to come right when they open so you get the croissants hot and fresh from the oven.

Cuong T.

Yelp
This place was is hidden in a shopping strip. Pastries were good and actually had hot breakfast with eggs. Hot chocolate was ok.
google avatar

May L.

Yelp
The hot chocolate was amazing. It was thick and had the right amount of sweetness. There was a depth of flavor in the hot chocolate from sweet sent in the vanilla bean and the earthy taste from the cinnamon. We spent several hours enjoying hot beverages and yummy pastry. I wished I had more time in Paris to try everything on their menu. Sad to say we were only able to get there twice during our stay. This is a good local place to go on a rainy day.

Yelp
Delicious place with delicious and fresh pastries!!! Highly recommend. Super friendly waiters and they spoke English so we were able to order just what we wanted the pastries were soooo good! The location is a bit hidden but adorable!

Yelp
Beautiful, homemade and handmade in the shop's basement kitchen every morning. The pastries were bougee; had gold flakes, sparking meringues, and flaky light crusts that melted in your mouth. The cappuccino was good too...a nice little afternoon treat

Yelp
While walking through the passages to go to another restaurant, we (thank god) looked through the Le Valentin window and saw a woman eating the most beautiful duck entree. We were convinced to go inside to try. Service is curt and the servers don't greet you when you enter, but I've come to expect that of French service now. Food: We ordered 3 different daily specials and a quiche. +steak daily special: Steak was perfectly cooked and came with roasted potatoes and a salad. Potatoes were lightly salted and sweetened. +duck daily special: Duck was juicy and nicely seared. Didn't have extra flavoring so the taste of the duck was nice and subtle. Also came with delicious flavored rice. +cod daily special: Came with a beautiful cream sauce and a bunch of peas. Wasn't heavy and the cod was tender. +ham quiche: Little too salty but maybe it's supposed to be like that. Overall the slice was big enough and came with salad too. Entrees were reasonably priced from €11-15. Dessert: +champagne raspberry christmas log: Champagne whip is refreshing and airy and the raspberry jam inside is tart and strong. The cake was also light, very happy the server recommended this. +cappuccino: Can not be messed up. This is where they make money off of you. The tiny log was €6.90 and the cappuccino was €4.99. Overall we felt full but not to the point where we felt drowsy. Best meal I've had in France.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. My girlfriend and I stayed across the street for 5 days. We came here every single day and twice on our final day of vacation. The woman who runs the shop (i think) is beyond charming. She gave us great suggestions for places we might explore. As for the pastries - AMAZING. If we come back to Paris, we'll be eating here again.

Yelp
This is a review for their delicious macaroons. I chose three large size macaroons to go. The best of the three was the caramel followed by the chocolate, which tasted like a wonderfully light brownie, followed by the also excellent framboise. They were almost 4 euros each and three was plenty for two people.
google avatar

Yelp
A cute little shop in a cute little passageway. The pastries here the best we have had in the Opera district of Paris so far. We took the pastries to go and were able to salivate, oooh and ahhh in the comfort of our flat. The service was 10/5.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
The hot chocolate here is to something like I have never experienced it almost reminds of Mexican hot chocolate. They use fresh cream and real melted chocolate to make it. It so rich and tasty it will leave you craving for more. My hubby also ordered an espresso with just a hint of foam and he said it was some of the best coffee he has had in a while! This cafe has a ton of pastries, macarons big and small, and assortment of other drink options. The prices reflect the quality so I was ok with paying a little extra for our drinks it was great on a cold and wet evening in Paris.

Yelp
Such a delightful gem!! The ambiance is so beautiful and inviting. Just what you want in a French Cafe. The woman who waited on us was comfortable and polite speaking to us in English. She was so charming. AND... I can only say you can be sure of a satisfying well prepared meal. I had the traditional French Onion Soup I am VERY HAPPY!

Yelp
Firstly, if you're not wandering the covered passages in this part of town, you're doing it wrong. When you are doing so, you need to stop in at Le Valentin - either to sit down and have your pastries while hungry visitors ogle you through the glass, or to - as I did recently - grab some treats for guests for us to sit down and enjoy far from the madding crowds. Staff is friendly, English-friendly (if you need it), and the pastries are delicious!

Yelp
While staying next door at Hotel Chopin, we had breakfast here 3 times. Absolutely delicious beverages - I fell in love with cafe au lait here - and their fresh squeezed orange juice is the best in the city. The first time we had a set breakfast that was large and filling. After that we opted for just drinks and a pastry. They also make their own desserts and treats which are beautifully crafted and lined up in the windows. If you are in the area of Passage Jouffroy, definitely make a visit!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem inside of an indoor shopping 19th century arcade/center. The neighboring stores feature antiques, collectible toys and gentleman's cane and umbrellas stores (not kidding). It's everything you'd envision a French Cafe would be. Croissants are exceedingly good and the pastries and macrons are freshly made. The owner sing songs her way to your table and it's as charming as you'd imagine. The breakfast menu starts with a basic coffee and croissant and each stage above adds an item for an additional price. For example, Le Detente features freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee, croissant and mini baguette with butter and homemade marmalade. The next stage, includes bacon, two eggs and a green salad.

Yelp
Desserts were 5 stars. Chocolate croissant was good but probably 3.5-4 star range for me. Pastries are affordable while desserts are a bit pricey. But you are paying for top quality dessert and space. It is well worth it. Service was excellent, too. Friendly, helpful, welcomes you with smile, which you don't get that much in central Paris area. I asked for recommendation since mille-feuille (napoleon) was weekend only. I think I got the first one on the menu. It was excellent. It had mousse texture but also creamy with hint of nutty flavor and berry sauce inside. I wish I could eat more... This place is tucked away from the busy street, so it's quiet. You can really enjoy the atmosphere and moment with yourself or your company. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I went here back in summer of 2013, but this café is where some of my fondest memories in Paris took place. My mom and i were staying in a hotel nearby and went on a walk the day we got there. Actually she made me because I didn't sleep at all on the 11 hour transcontinental flight. The last thing I was in the mood for was to eat and exercise my French (at least within the first few hours of my being there). So we sat down and I ordered my mom a cappuccino and myself a latte. To our delight, their English was absolutely perfect and they even struck up conversation with us. My mom ordered a spinach quiche. Being the picky eater I was at 18, I didn't like spinach, but wow, I think I heard the angels singing when I had a bite. It was like a dream. And that was my first bite of real French food. We proceeded to make stops there daily for afternoon coffee or pastries. It is a very small yet adorably beautiful café with absolutely gorgeous pastries. You need to visit it when you're in Paris.

Yelp
Fantastic place for some quick sweets and pastries, but what I really impressed me was the salade nicoise which was both plentiful, inexpensive and extremely taste. Topped it off with a brioche noissete... Mmm:-)

Yelp
Stopped here for tea and coffee. Found it to be absolutely delightful and delicious! Definitely a must try.

Yelp
As a visitor to the city, we picked this place out for breakfast one morning based on the reviews. So far have been there twice, the breakfasts have been delicious both times, the cafe itself is lovely and quaint, and the service amiable. The staff speak english and the menu has english translations which is very helpful. The earlier you get there, the emptier it is, so id suggest going for breakfast and leaving with some treats! The location is also great; the passageway is a historical site and filled with lovely shops/boutiques. Hope to visit many more times in the future (and by then speak french fluently!)

Yelp
Beautiful little cafe/patisserie down an alleyway filled with shops. I had a croissant which was perfect and a delicious macaroon. The la Chou Chou hot chocolate is one of the better hot chocolates I've ever had. The rest of the pastries looked amazing. Definitely worth a visit while In Paris.
google avatar

Yelp
Walked in, only about 8 different baked goods were on display. No one walked up to greet us. The man working there saw us and walked away didn't serve us or anything. There was about 6 men at a table in the back , obviously having a meeting ,they didn't care or try to serve us. We were unable to order so we left. Bad experience and a waste of a walk. We will try other bakeries
google avatar

Cici S.

Yelp
Friendly service and a cute little spot located within a covered passage, but I think it's overrated and expensive. I would not come here for their viennoiseries (breakfast buns), but rather, try their patisseries (dessert pastries).
google avatar

Shai S.

Yelp
Paris has many top level places to eat deserts but for me this is the best. Both taste and presentation were top notch. The tartellet citron was perfect - it captured all the good taste of a lemon without the sourness. Great tea selection. Coffee, as elsewhere in Paris, was not up to par.
google avatar

Daina P.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Everything we tried from here was so good. The service is really good too! It's located indoors if you are having trouble finding it. A little pricey compared to most places. Cheaper to take out.
google avatar

Lindsey S.

Yelp
This was a great little cafe and bakery. It is located in the Passage Jouffroy which has lots of lovely shops. The service was great. The owner spoke some English and was very friendly. The macaroons, coffee, and pastries, were great. They also have some lunch items so I tried the vegtable quiche which was really good.
google avatar

Cassaundra F.

Yelp
I found this place from the reviews. Does NOT disappoint. They have a menu so you don't have to look like a dingbat staring through the window. Hot chocolate with chant illy was great!!! I had the Jauffroy for dessert. Lovely!!
google avatar

Loris V.

Yelp
I had to try the Sablé (shortbread) covered with orange pieces. It was delicious. The cappuccino was great as they used Italian coffee (Lavazza). This cozy place is worth to stop by.
google avatar

Yelp
A charming little cafe in the Passage Jouffroy. I had something to eat that was inspiring. I like salmon, so I ordered what was salmon on the menu, not being absolutely certain what it was. It ended up being salmon, mushrooms, yellow/saffron rice and spinach rolled up (though not mixed) in a brioche dough that was then baked and sliced. It was superb.
google avatar

Joann L.

Yelp
Someone from my school brought in some macarons from Le Valentin in Passage Jouffroy nearby, and they were some of the best I've ever had (and thankfully not as pricey as Lauduree). The pastry items at Le Valentin are simply superb, and I definitely recommend the macarons!

Deb E.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! The quiche Lorraine is to die for! I also had the penne with salmon special that was also delicious. The orange juice is the freshest you'll ever have. The servers are great and the ambience is amazing. A must go!!
