We told the staff we were from the Netherlands and didn’t speak French, but they kept speaking French anyway. No effort, no interest in their guests at all. The terrace and location look nice, but the number of flies is disgusting, it completely ruins the atmosphere. The food? A total joke. The mixed grill was embarrassing (see photo). The chicken, both from the mixed grill and another dish had zero flavor. No salt, no seasoning, just dry, bland meat. And then we had to wait an absurd amount of time for dessert. How long can it possibly take to serve two Dame Blanche and one brownie? It’s all pre-made just scoop some ice cream and go. Unacceptable.

Nice and cosy restaurant with good food. The staff hardly speaks anything other than French, so the communication is a bit hard if you don't speak French. In the end we had a nice experience.

We din't stay at the hotel but was recommended this restaurant to have an evening meal. We booked in advance. The restaurant is fairly somber but well decorated. It took a while for the menu to be presented (I had to ask for them)! We chose the fixed menu 3 course meal, which was lovely. The Gambas sauce could have done with being thicker though. My husband had the beef, which was excellent and so we enjoyed the Pinot gris from the Alsace I do think the waiters need to present themselves a little better. Smart with a suitable uniform (not a sweat jumper!!) It just looked out of place. A little improvement that will make a big difference I think. No one checked if our meal was ok. It would have been nice to be asked. All in all it was a lovely experience though. Just need to consider some of the above to make the experience extra special. Thank you

It seems Durbuy’s only purpose is to rip off tourists. The hotel doesn’t have any onsite parking as advertised instead it’s either public parking or they have a couple of reserved spaces in a residential garage for ten euros a night, which we did. The room was ok, but small. The breakfast was awful. Seems it’s laid up once at the start of service and not refreshed. No staff about. Stuff was running out. Nothing really looked appetising to eat, so we left it. We found an excellent roadside restaurant about 20 minutes away. ||But the town. Oh my god it’s awful. We found a decent bar for a few beers at our 4th attempt. We then went back to the hotel for a quick sleep, which overran and we reappeared and 9:15pm. We’d already discounted eating anywhere as there wasn’t anything that looked any good. We just wanted another quick drink before bed. Everywhere was closed! Even this hotel refused service. Proof that it’s just a tourist-only town. ||We then headed to Bruges where we have a favourite bar that we visit. The staff there also confirmed that Durbuy isn’t a pleasant place unless you liked being ripped off. Avoid avoid avoid.

The room was pretty noisy, lots of noises came from the building and surroundings. Everything was clean and the bathroom was nice too. The restaurant however was great and I'd recommend staying here with diner included. Great food, great service and a nice wine card!

Honestly, I do not understand how this hotel gets the reviews it does? We found the room, "ok" but being on the first floor anyone above you sounds like a herd of elephants due to the thin, wooden floors. Our initial room had a door with a gaping hole in it and if you are more than 1,50m in height you will have an issue with the toilet! The other room was a little better away from the stairs, but still noisy above us. BUT, for me, a hotel's heart and soul hangs on the reception staff and Maître D in the restaurant... and this is where this place fell down big time. They honestly do not care about your welfare or even grace you with any social contact..." Get in, get out" and no advice on where to go, or what to see etc...Restaurant main waitress was rude (particularly on the first evening...) and we had the feeling we were a gross inconvenience for them. Menu was ok, BUT anything such as veg instead of something else, becomes expensive fast.... especially any water with your meal! ||Breakfast though was ok and indeed you can certainly find enough to start your day well, their most positive point. ||Durbuy is worth seeing, but my advice is DO NOT STAY there... pop in, see it and go!

Perfect location, we had a wonderful room and a beautiful bathroom. Only downside was that there was no AC, it was very hot in the room so we didn't slept well despite the really comfortable bed we had..

Good:|- Breakfast is very good|- Friendly staff|- Cosy room||Bad:|- Our room wasn’t a rustic one as always shown in the official pictures, but one with a lot less character|- WiFi isn’t the fastest|- No night reception||And then there was this major incident that blew away everything. The rooms are not airconditioned and was situated in front of the “Le 7 by Juliette”, a restaurant owned by the same person as Le Victoria Hotel, at the other side of the street. As the name “Le 7 nu Juliette” implies, it opened on July the 7th. Aparantely, the restaurant organises a big party at its outside courtyard on that date, every year. We stayed that night in the hotel and we slept for about 2 hours - combined. It was a completely miserable experience and we woke up with a heavy headache. There was a DJ banging music until the early morning hours in the middle of the town on an outside square, just in front of our room and no night reception. We called the police but in absence of Durbuy having its own patrol unit, we didn’t saw any action from them and the party just went on ruining our night and thus stay. ||The next morning during check out I went complaining and asked for a refund. The receptionist didn’t considered that a fair question. I asked for the manager but she said there was none, although she herself had not the permission to allow for a refund. So same story: this hotel (owner) doesn’t give a thing about the people who are paying him. Beautiful hotel, but don’t go there.

Yelp
Durbuy has a bunch of tourist restaurants and it seems to be hard to separate the good ones from the tourist traps. These guys keep it simple, and it works. I got grilled dorade, kids got steak, and wife got a spicy spatchcoked chicken, and it was all good. Frites were good. Spoiled kids got dame blanche's for dessert. De Koninck on draft.

Yelp
Being from the same owners as my earlier reviewed place "Brasserie Fred", we didn't have high hopes for the service. However, the moment we arrived we noticed a day and night difference in staff, people were friendly, well informed and quick to help us. The food was heavenly, nothing more to say, it was almost perfect, the cooking time was exactly how it should be, and even the wine our waiter recommended matched everything perfectly. Definitely a recommendation for people who don't mind paying a little extra for excellent quality.

Yelp
We had a great dinner there. Really good food, especially the deserts and friendly staff. I'd recommend this place over the reataurants at the city center square.
