On the Grid : Le Petit Village

"The real corner bistro. No fuss there, the manager welcomes you as a friend and suggest you the table you like the most. Cosy vibes here. For lunch, this Parisian café becomes the designers’ major establishment. Here, the menu changes every day, depending on the fresh products deliveries. We love that place when the sun goes down: Le Petit Village is becoming really effervescent! Cold cuts and cheese plates to share, good vibes, cheap beers, laughter and big mess sometimes. An authentic spot where we come as we really are." - Brand Brothers

06-2025: Back off of the main streets, down a market Street, and then turning onto a side street, out of the way, but still able to enjoy people living their lives like taking their cat for a bike ride. 😀 From a language proficiency and respect of culture perspective, I had prepared insultingly poorly for the trip. That being said, I made an effort and they accommodate graciously. The staff and we ended up having good fun and laughs. Thoughtful service and enjoyable foods. For the local vibe and reasonably quiet environment, I'd definitely go back.

I absolutely love this place. The waiter was so, so kind in a genuine, thoughtful way, the food was delicious, the vibe was very cozy and lovely, and the service was attentive, professional, and respectful. I deeply enjoyed my meal here and look forward to coming back.

Good balance of good food and drinks decently priced, lots of outside seatings in a street with low traffic. Overall recommend.

We had a great night at Le Village Café, where I met some friends who had come from Doha, Qatar to Paris. For the main courses, we had three dishes: I had the pasta, which was absolutely delicious, a steak (I tried a small piece and it was really good), and a soup that I didn’t get a chance to try, but the steak was fantastic. We also enjoyed a few drinks, including wine, and the staff were super friendly. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside and had a great time. One special moment I need to mention is that it was my friend’s birthday, and I secretly asked one of the staff to surprise him. They brought out a dish with 3 shots as a surprise, and I loved how they made it special. (Video attached to this review.) Overall, I had a wonderful night and truly enjoyed the experience!

Super delicious food. Very professional service. The Croque Monsieur is excellent, highly recommend. The terrace is very smokey (due to cigarette), but the interior is well decorated and has a great vibe.

Lovely place, near the hotel I was staying. People were having a great time in the terrace area. Too much smoking for me, but I understand it in Paris. I got the milanese veal, that was considerable big and very tasty. The pasta on citron as the side ir was so plain and so amazing. Husband really liked the tartare. Served slightly different as it was flat in the plate and not round high as we are used to see.

I had the best boeuf with a perfect pepper sauce. The fries, wine and service by a wonderful staff. Davi nicely suggested the chouquete which was just delicious. He was friendly, he speaks French, English, Portuguese and Spanish. Definitely would visit again.

Yelp
This place is soo great :) I went here with around 6 friends and the service and the food was great! The server was sooo funny and just joked the whole time but at the same time he was very friendly and polite. I got the duck uhm.. not the confeit but it was on the special menu. It was more of a duck steak. It was sooo tender, juicy and just delicious. I got it medium and OMG just melted soo much in my mouth. It came with this cheese sauce and pasta. This was a very french cuisine restaurant that is definitely not anywhere near a tourist area. Just like any other really good french food restaurants, this is located in a small alley so I think it is very easy for locals to find it but definitely not tourists like ME! But if you every get a chance to come here, it is not so pricey and the environment is very classy and just very very nice.

Yelp
Let me first mention that the hours listed here are wrong...completely wrong. I didn't note them down exactly, but this place was open and crowded pretty much all day, every day, including Sunday! In fact, my husband and I sat down for lunch at exactly noon on a Sunday. While on our honeymoon and staying a couple of blocks away, we passed this place multiple times a day, and it was always hopping! We'd eyed it wistfully until the last day of our trip, when we stopped on our way to the metro. We loved it here!! The food and service were great, and it was nice to find a place in Paris that actually seemed to have some healthier options. The portions were massive, but everything seemed fresh and natural. My hubby ordered the Sans Culpabilite, which consisted of grilled chicken with pesto, grilled red and yellow peppers, salad, and sun-dried tomatoes. It was so flavorful, good, and healthy! We both loved it! I ordered the Topissime Meli Melo: smoked salmon, two mini crostini with mozzarella, shrimp and avocado with creamy dijon sauce, and green salad. Also very flavorful, and a ginormous amount of food! I was only able to eat about half...though we HAD to order dessert, since it was our last full day in Paris. The nutella crepe came with two little chocolate cookie sticks, and was delicious. We scraped the plate dry (okay, I did)...and as a joke, the server brought me a small cup of just nutella. Had he not clearly been joking, I may have taken him up on it... GREAT stop for lunch, guilt-free except for the crepe, and wonderful outdoor setting. My hubby and I will remember this type of Parisian cafe scene fondly! Loved it.

Yelp
Great food and very generous portions! Try the Village Burger or a salad (they probably use a whole bag of sald for each plate!). The place can get busy during from 12-2 and after 8pm. I live in the area and it's a great place for coffee (desserts are great too). I would call this place an upgrade version of a typical French brasserie. Waiters are friendly and the atmosphere is cozy only sometimes the snobby high school kids can get annoying sometimes. They have a terrace which keeps warm in winter and cooll and breezy in summer. Due to the smoking-ban ALL the smokers sit on the terrace but if you don't mind it's probably the best place to sit (the street is semi-pedestrian).

Yelp
You really can't go wrong with charcuterie as a starter. I enjoyed the gorgonzola stuffed pasta which was creamy, tender & mild. The rocket and sun dried tomatoes brought balance to the dish with pepper and sweet zing. The steak was a bit undercooked for medium and the frittes served had more crunchy bits and ends than tender longer cuts. Service was kind and patient as I was catching up with a highschool friend and it took us a long time to decide. Our server greeted the child in our group to a fruit punch to amuse him right away. Nice touch.

Yelp
Really nice restaurant for a meal with family or friends. The salmon is always really good (they change the menu a few times a year and even with different recipes, the salmon never disappoints). The terrasse is usually quite full but there's always space in the restaurant itself.

Yelp
I give this place three stars because it's not consistent with its flavors. Note that I'm only reviewing their French Onion Soup because that's all I would eat here. The first three times I ate it here, it was amazing! Luckily I once brought my cousin and my dad here when it was amazing, but then it became hit or miss. One time I ordered it late at night and it came out cold. The flavors were there, but it wasn't a hot soup. Other times, the flavors were completely missing. It definitely turned me off to coming here often for the soup, not knowing if I was about to eat the amazing soup or a bowl of flavored dish water. On the bright side, the soup was only 6.95 Euros which is pretty inexpensive for Paris standards.

Yelp
Nourriture de bistrot classique. Service sympa. Mais le plus que nous n'avions pas demande est le ver dans la salade

Yelp
Super crowded with tables, chairs, and people of course. The food was a total waste in my opinion.. Steak that was supposed to be medium was pretty well done and just a bad cut of meat - nothing like what would be considered steak in the US... more like meat for stew grilled... steak tar tar that I was so excited to try in Paris was just terrible. May be that wasn't the right place for steak tar tar. Servers were surprisingly helpful - that's why I'm giving it two stars instead of one.

Yelp
Had their Chicken Caesar salad. Neither the dressing nor the chicken had any taste. Kept adding salt & pepper - to no avail. The worst salad i've ever had. Server never came back to see if we needed anything.

Yelp
Good, lively place with light hearted waiters, good food and prompt service We visited 'the Village' during our week-long stay in Paris, for dinner. We ended up being very happy with the restaurant - right from the funny, light hearted and prompt head waiter who waited on us, to the nicely done main courses. What was especially impressive was the overall speed and promptness of service, right from assigning us a seat, to providing a coloring paper for my 3 year old toddler to occupy herself, to escorting us indoors, the moment the first drops of rain started falling (we were sitting in the open) Good place, will go again!

Yelp
Extremely smokey in the primary restaurant area because they leave the doors open to the patio. I wouldn't recommend this spot for non-smokers. Service was very so slow we had to leave.
