Very nice informal restaurant with good regional food. "Bacon Pie" starter a little dry and flavourless but all the rest great including lamb crumble main.

Le Vintage was a really good restaurant. It was relaxed, yet the food was excellent. I had a delicious goat's cheese starter and some sort of lamb dish. It was a bit like shepherd's pie, but in a much more French and sophisticated way. The service was very friendly and tolerant of our - sadly - woeful French. The prices seemed reasonable and it was a great dining experience. We went early (with children), so the restaurant wasn't very full. Even so, it was a lively atmosphere, with French music playing. I can imagine if you arrive later it would be very vibrant. Great, authentic food.

Nice dinner, great service. They were able to accommodate gluten free (celiaque). Great wine selection. Limited menu items, but the menu changes frequently. Modifications could be made to accommodate gluten allergy.

Cold, rainy day in Avignon - this place was such a haven! Warm atmosphere, welcoming staff, good food - try the potted brownie dessert especially - I enjoyed this place immensely!

Easy and classy French bistro place. Warm and cosy inside. Service was superb and efficient. We enjoyed a bottle of wine and they don't mind us to take the coffee outside with our cigars. On a cool night in famous quiet French town, this is the best place to enjoy the night pass by.

Service was good. It didn't take long for us to be seated and served. Mushroom soup with truffle was creamy and fragrant, but I wouldn't say it's crazy good. Cod looked good, but didn't taste good; was quite dry and tough. Lamb was definitely better than the cod, but the Angus steak was the best. Chocolate lava cake was also good. We had a lovely muscat wine recommended by our server which we liked a lot too.

If its 36 degrees and you sit at the table and you get directly a fresh bottle of water, you have set the beginning of a great evening. Food was great, service amazing (really a show to see them work so efficiently) and a great price. What else can you ask? Don't hesitate and enjoy it yourself!

Amazing restaurant with great delicious food and fairly priced. Excellent service as well.

Yelp
This seemed like a family styled restaurant in the back there were long tables filled with large groups. Boisterous and casual. We seemed to get the only server that didn't speak English and had a hard time with my fumbling French. Eventually everything worked out. The food was excellent and plentiful. 50cl pitcher of house white €9 was fine. €24 for three courses of good plentiful food is a great deal which may explain why we were the only English speakers within earshot

Yelp
Our best meal in Avignon. The 'formula du soir' fixed 3 course meal is a good value and the choices of all three courses were excellent. I had the goat cheese starter which was amazingly spreadable (both on the salad as well as the fresh bread that was brought to the table. 2 others at my table had the salmon on guacamole which was also well received. The entrecoat steak main I had was perfectly seasoned and seared on the outside and rare on the inside. The sear sets this place apart from other places I've visited on my European stays. The lamb dish was also a favorite. We finished with the 2 lemon and mango desserts. They came out fully frozen and both were fully devoured. I had the lemon dessert and it was super lemony. The 1/2 carafe of the house wines were a good deal. We chose the red and it was quite satisfying. Yes, this is the French wine country and house wines are much better than other places. The outside dining is right on a pedestrian street in a secluded intersection which is a nice location to relax and unwind on a nice warm evening. This was our last night in Avignon and a great venue to cap off our visit!

Yelp
Had dinner here per hotel reception recommendation of fresh food. Food was fresh, delicious, sophisticated yet not fussy. Had appetizer of salad with grilled goat cheese... that was to die for. Had the hake (fish) with basmati rice with wasabi sauce. Very fresh and delicious! price was reasonable as well.

Yelp
The is a very busy, very delicious restaurant. The food was just great, very creative and fresh. Be prepared to look up dishes and point to what you want. Maybe swing by at lunch and get a reservation for dinner because they fill up.The host/owner speaks good English if you need it. The outside tables are extremely close to together, but it's ok!

Yelp
We went to Le Vintage based on lots of reviews. The restaurant has both indoor an outdoor seating. We were directed indoors to a small table in the middle of the restaurant. Service was very quick. We both ordered apitizers and a main course. The food arrived very quickly, it was not very hot. We assumed that the meal had been prepared well in advance. The main courses were very well presented but we had the same issue that some of the portions were just slightly warm. The additional issue for us is that a tour group party of about 20+ arrived mid-meal. After their arrival the indoor noise level increased geometrically. I recommend dining at an outdoor table. We noticed that the restaurant continued to be extremely popular the week we were in Avignon. They do offer nicely presented meals and reasonable prices. We many have been a bit unlucky the evening we selected.

Yelp
Arriving at Avignon in the late evening, my friends and I quickly found this place with very good Google reviews. It turned out amazing--not just because we were hungry. We ordered foie gras as starter, roast chicken breast, squid and roast camembert for entries, and finally Christmas log as dessert! There was nothing I didn't love. The environment was good as well: it was fully seated and the people here were friendly. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Avignon.

Yelp
It is seldom I ever write negative reviews, but in our experience - when you are in Avignon, "the Capital of Provence" - you should always be able to count on a good meal...even from a small brasserie. But one would definitely expect this from a highly rated restaurant. Although well reviewed, from the moment we stepped into Le Vintage we felt rushed at every phase of our meal with very little personal attention. We gave our name and said we had reservation, and at nearly the same moment at least a dozen other people were arriving to be seated. Although I've never been on a cruise ship...this is what I believe it might feel like. After being seated for only a few minutes the person we had given our name to and had just seated us - approached and asked us if we had reservations, to which we replied, "you just seated us!" The prix fixe menu should have been our first clue. It was in a plastic sleeve on a clipboard which was clearly the same one used for every meal, every day. The wines were extremely overpriced with a Demi-bottle of a local Rhône wine costing the same as a 750 ml bottle of a comparable wine at nearly every other restaurant we visited while in Avignon. My companion's meal was good, but my angus steak was extraordinarily tough. I felt bad for the shoes that were sacrificed to make this meal. The sauce provided was very uninspired as was the presentation. This was the only marginal meal that we've had in Avignon, or in France, and when there are so many wonderful options in the City, I would hate for someone to spend twice what they could spend at any small authentic family owned restaurant, and more importantly for us, waste your time at a meal at this establishment.

Yelp
Had a wonderful day touring the towns near Avignon. Tour guide recommended Le Vintage and it was great!

Yelp
This is what I would expect of a French Bistro, bustling with locals, friendly staff, and of course excellent food and good wine. There wasn't an empty table. Make sure you make reservations.

Yelp
New Year's Eve in France, when restaurants offer "special menus" at triple their normal prices. Most places make it clear there normal menu is not available, but this sneaky spot displayed the regular menu outside, then switched to the 70 Euro one when you walked in and sat down. A number of couples sat down, then left in embarrassment a few minutes later. We just stayed. Food was decent - didn't care for the big hunk of pate, seafood course was very good, but there was way too much food, and we gave up and asked for the check halfway through.

Yelp
Excellent service, many options to choose! Some in my group were disappointed in the steak-frites. I'm not sure whether it was the steak or the cooking. It was very loud, but this would be due to the multiple groups in the restaurant. I would definitely come back, especially with a group!

Yelp
Was recommended by our hotel as less "touristy" and we were pleased. We enjoyed all three courses very much but one or two would be plenty. The fish was my favorite. Very fresh. The wait staff was attentive and patient with our fenglish:) Another gentleman checked on us as well. We recommend it.

Yelp
I have never written a Yelp review before. A few nights ago, I had one of the worst meals I have ever been served at a restaurant. I ate here a few nights ago for dinner with my boyfriend. It was the worst meal we've had while traveling thus far. We have both worked in restaurants for years and are very patient with food service because we are sympathetic to the stress of the industry. When my boyfriend was ordering a steak tartare, he heard the guy at the table next to us make a joke to our server about tomatoes in French (my boyfriend can speak/understand passable French), but he didn't think anything of it. I ordered a grilled Monkfish and vegetables dish. Unfortunately, when the fish came out, it was so overcooked, it was the consistency of knotted up rubber bands. I would have let this pass, because some dishes just don't work out. But the tartare was particularly unique. After one bite my boyfriend noticed that it tasted like Heinz ketchup. The last thing anyone should taste in their tartare is sweet, processed tomato product. We asked our waitress if they put ketchup in the tartare and she said yes (Heinz, we were right) and pickles (cornichons). With Parmesan cheese on top of the tartare, we realized that we received some sort of "Cheeseburger" tartare. It was pretty awful, and when we asked our server if the dish was normally served this way she brought the rest of the serving staff out with her, seemed to feign "lost in translation" and they all giggled while asking us if we wanted them to cook it; which seemed like an unguarded insult on the fact we are from the U.S. The whole situation was the butt of the kitchen's and the server's inside joke. Overall, the meal was a bummer. Neither of our dishes were eaten. We are traveling around France in pursue of food, wine, and culture, and I had a food experience that would have disappointed me anywhere in the world. Every other meal in Avignon (and France) has been pleasant to superior so this review should not reflect on the cuisine. They did comp us the two pastis we ordered after our meal, so that gets them one star?

Yelp
We were in Avignon in April 2019. We had dinner here and it was so good we went back the next night. My husband had the pork chop both nights and said it was "the best he'd ever had"! Be patient as it's small and busy but worth it!

David T.

Yelp
Recommended by our hotel clerk, this hit the mark for us. Tasty seeded chèvre with salad and green gaspacho for starters, perfectly-prepared Angus steak & frites and salmon crumble for mains, and light red fruit panna cotta for a sweet finish, along with nicely-matched house wines. Hosting and service were very attentive and pleasant, even though the restaurant was full and busy, both inside and outside on their extensive pavement territory. Though not sure when we'll return to Avignon, we'll revisit Le Vintage when we do.

Yelp
Don't understand the complaints. I thought the food and service were outstanding. Nice atmosphere, fresh food. I could not have been happier.

Yelp
One of the worst restaurants we have been to. My husband was attracted to their €22 dinner which included an appetizer +main course + dessert, but was so disappointed with the food in the end. I will give 1 star to their customer service, waiter didn't pay attention to what we were saying and was distracted somewhere else. I am a vegetarian and the menu is so dull. Appetizer and main course are pretty much similar : cheese with a side of french fries/salad, not worth at all.

Yelp
Our hotel recommended this restaurant. It was quite good. They have 12 Provance wines by the glass on the menu. We tried 3. The servings were generous. The food was tasty, and the service good.

Yelp
Our group was looking for a unique spot to have dinner off the main square of the town of Avignon & stumbled onto this cool little place. None of us speaks great French but we gave it a try! The food was very good & the place was a very cool little joint. I'm vegetarian & they made a dish that was a heated goat cheese.....very good! The others had filet mignon that actually was either veal or pork but all said it tasted very good. The price was 20 euros for entree (first course), plate & dessert. The apricot tart was amazing ! Totally bill for 5 peeps was 150 euros which included an extra dessert, two bottles of vino & digestifs. .....excellent deal. The three stars is not for the great food but the attitude which was very hot & cold. When bread was brought to the table we got five pieces for five people & other tables with two had an entirely full basket (that spoke french). When leaving we said good nite & thank u in french & English and when we were almost out the door & they thought we were gone, we could hear the guy behind the bar making fun of us saying in a mocking tone good nite in almost a baby talk voice......uncool & too bad cause this really was a cool place with good prices for good food....... Food & ambience was 4 stars.......attitude 2.5-3 stars......

Yelp
Worst place I have ever been. I wish I could give this place a negative star, but that's not possible. One of the darker skin waitress, only mentioning because the other are white so I can point finger at THAT person, sat three of us at the smallest table while there is another party of three girls took up two tables for four. We asked NICELY to switch, and another waitress was so kind to let us switch, so we did. We each had a camera backpack so we really needed the extra space but that darker skin waitresses came by and trying to hurdle us back to the small table. Her excuse was that same table size for the three other girls was for five ppl in our case. I wish I was much less educated to yell at her then. Strongly recommend going to restaurants on Rue de la Republique by the main gate, restaurants there are much more live too.
