Get a taste of Africa at these amazing restaurants in Johannesburg - SilverKris

"Also housed on the same property, this cafe caters to both vegans and vegetarians. Here, you can browse at the little store that sells an assortment of health products, and be surrounded by lemon trees and roaming chickens as you enjoy your almond brownie." - SilverKris

One of my favourite places by far. Staff are beyond friendly. Location is so special. Menu is so unique, had so many options to choose from representing whole quality foods. Their smoothie selection is insane! My dreams have come true. Pumpkin pie smoothie - best smoothie I’ve ever tasted. The Americans are onto something. It literally tasted like a pumpkin pie, was sweet, creamy and had notes of cinnamon! So eager to try their carrot cake one. Shakshuka stack - my mom absolutely loved this. It was so comforting with the pesto veggies and delicious salty halloumi and soft bread. I made my own plate - I did their creamy hummus which was so savoury and tasty. Their sesame crusted tofu was so special, it was so warming and had so many different flavour/texture profiles that I loved. Their herb pesto is absolutely wonderful and worked perfectly with the poached eggs. The sourdough was such a nice addition for dipping. By far the best place in joburg representing whole foods, plant based options and a reason to remind you that your health is your wealth.

For all things Vegan.. this is one place you have to try out! The food is fresh and organic. Really, really good! The venue is cozy and welcoming and our waiter Jayden was very punctual and hospitable. By the way.. the SMOOTHIES are simply to die for.. So we indulged in a pulled mushroom burger with sweet potato fries. The smoothies were a "Kale and Pineapple," I tried the "Chocolate and Date" which I absolutely enjoyed.

Absolutely fabulous vegan and vegetarian food - we had the vegan chili and spaghetti with mushroom and caper piccata as well as the “renew” juice, and then (because holidays and late lunch and whatever) the “leafy green” smoothie and a red cappuccino along with scrumptious dessert 😋😋😋 Will come back! ❤️

Everything I imagined. The location is perfect, I don't mind driving out for this one. Although they were understaffed because of holidays, the staff were still friendly and tried their best to serve us as quickly as they could. The food was fresh and the portions were perfect. Not everything was available but as a food outlet owner in Johannesburg, I know how we need to stock less in December because of how quiet Jhb gets. So I was forgiving of the shortage. I will come back in March. Family-friendly, with tons of space for little ones to run around. There's outdoor and indoor seating. I liked the handpicked flowers that were arranged as decor on the tables. I'm gluten-free vegan and had so many options here.

I don't want to say much. I love the venue, I love Casalinga and the whole surrounding area, the gardens, Nature, soft and gentle vibe - it's all lovely. And I had a good experience once before at Leafy Greens a few years ago, which is what prompted me to choose the spot for my birthday lunch on a Sunday. But 75minutes for food to be served, 2 meatballs in the spaghetti and meatball main course, a salad main course never delivered to our table, dirty glasses and water jug, a dirty napkin served with cutlery - it was a horrible dining experience. The staff and manager were all lovely, the vibe and setting beautiful. But the food and service was really really bad. And I am sorry to have to write this review. It's not to point fingers. It's mostly to leave something here for future guests to be aware of. I hope everyone who visits has the most awesome experience!

It was my first time at the restaurant and I was amazed. The beautiful gardens filled with organic fruit and vegetables was a sight for sore eyes. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious and very well presented. The service was warm, friendly and efficient. The only advice to the owner is make sure that your baby high chairs are cleaned all the time. I had to wipe down the chair with wet wipes before putting my baby into it. Other than that we had a lovely lunch and a wonderful experience.

This is an amazing little restaurant with large variety of different vegan and vegetarian food. The food is all made to order so be prepared to wait a bit, trust me it is worth the wait. The food is absolutely delicious and is seasoned to perfection with every bite being absolutely scrumptious . I would highly highly recommend this restaurant to anyone to the farm here. The food is also very fresh with some of the ingredients sourced just a stone throw's away in the organic garden.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Leafy greens cafe. It was our first time eating and definitely will be back. The restaurant is located amongst lovely greenery (refreshing break from the concretely jungle of Jhb). We weren’t too hungry and ordered meals from the tapas menu. The meals that arrived exceeded our expectations. Each one was deliciously unique tasting, and the hearty portion sizes made this good value for money. The service was great, plenty parking available and make sure to take time after your meal to walk around and explore the working farm. They also sell fresh organic produce from their farm at great prices.
