Booked a room and conference room for my son and groomsmen to get ready for his wedding. Staff were fabulous. Great location. Outside areas offered ample space for pictures and various backgrounds. Breakfast was delicious. I gave an overall 4 star rating as the keypad lock on our exterior room door wasn’t working. The interior doors accessing our room were locked. It took several phone calls before we actually were able to speak with someone . Then they contacted the staff at Leaside Manor who came to let us in. Overall a 45 minute wait late at night. Not the way you want to end an evening.

Wow! We didn’t quite know what we were getting when we booked. Do yourself a favour and skip the big hotel chain and stay here. We arrived and were escorted to our room. The door was open - so inviting! We booked the Parker Suite! So beautiful!!! The bed was comfortable, the giant tub relaxing, and although we didn’t use the fireplace it was a lovely spot to sit and sip our complimentary wine (due to being hotels.com vip members). We needed something printed and they were most accommodating. Breakfast was bed and breakfast style at a large dining room table with other guests. Such a nice way to meet new people. One morning was eggs and sausage and the second day was French toast. It’s a short walk into town or a shorter taxi ride. Free parking behind the building. (most suites are not accessible)

This is an amazing B&B. I had a wonderful week-long stay. The room was beautiful, the staff is exceptional, and the breakfast was delicious every day. I highly recommend staying here.

The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood about a 5-10 minute drive to downtown. Our suite had 2 floors and a kitchen and was spacious. Reasonably clean, but not spotless. Negatives were: a very narrow and extremely steep (treacherous) driveway entrance. Seemed to be understaffed. Breakfast service was slow. They were out of coffee at breakfast one day, and the next day just had a pot of hot water and instant coffee in a bowl. Would expect brewed coffee to be available at a bed and breakfast.

The 4/5 reflects the difficult access; there is no easy way to get to check-in and to bring in our luggage. There are numerous stairs, and not the safest. The stairwell to get to our second-floor apartment were extremely narrow. The place is absolutely gorgeous, though, the breakfasts are outstanding, and the staff is so friendly. Upon opening the door to our suite, I was awed by its presentation. If you’re of a younger age, with little to bring in with you, this is a beautiful place to stay in St. John’s.

Been going to this hotel many times over past 20 years. This time not pleased rooms are starting to be run down. Holes in towels dirt stains on them as well. Home in step entering room which is a safety hazard but putting all that aside upon booking we were quoted a rate and after check in our credit card was charged almost 200 dollars more than was quoted at booking and we were unable to resolve with hotel supervisor. Very disappointed

Stayed 3 nights Breakfast was the Biggest issue 2/3 days they had no regular coffee. I had decaffeinated coffee and all the creamers were sour. Everyone (12) comes to breakfast at the same time (7-9:30) with one person cooking. Only OJ for 2/3 days. The room was nice.

Great 2 night stay here. Room was spacious & comfortable. Breakfast was excellent both mornings. Enjoyed the large tub in the room. It’s about a 2 km walk to downtown bars/restaurants.

Yelp
My fiancee and I stayed at Leaside Manor the night we got engaged and it was the perfect romantic getaway to celebrate the occasion. The room was gorgeous, the two-person Jacuzzi tub was wonderful, and the ability to have breakfast delivered to our room in the morning was very convenient. The only downside is that the manor is not within short walking distance of downtown as their promotional material states, but we had use of a car during our trip so that was not a problem.

Yelp
The Leaside Manor is a wonderful place to get away from it all. The staff is very helpful and friendly. There are many different rooms to choose from and each has its own unique charm. You can have breakfast between 7:30 and 9:30 AM and you can have it delivered to your room or eat in the large dining room. Our total stay at the manor was about a week. We decided to have breakfast in the room each day and it was tasty. There is a different dish or change in the breakfast each day. The room was clean and they made up the room every day. Also it was really great to have the free wi-fi. I had a great stay, keep up the good work!

Yelp
My wife and I had booked a room at Leaside Manor months prior to our wedding. On our wedding day, a family member went to drop off our bags and explain that our wedding was taking place during normal check-in hours, making us unavailable for check-in ourselves. No special instructions were given, and no key was provided, so when we arrived at 1:30am and found ourselves locked out, we rang the bell. The woman who answered the door, Cathy, immediately scolded us for ringing the bell and not following proper procedure, and proceeded to be extremely condescending and rude to my wife (still in her wedding dress!) and I while begrudgingly showing us to our room. We decided to leave based on the extremely poor reaction, and admittedly by this time had become quite upset. When we returned the next morning to try and discuss our concerns, the same woman told us to leave the property or she would call the police! At no point in our discourse on the night of, or morning after, were we informed as to what it is that we should have done. I cannot believe that anyone in the hospitality industry would behave this badly to paying customers. There was a communication breakdown somewhere in the chain during the day, and while I can accept that we were unaware of Leaside's policies, I cannot accept the manner in which we have been spoken to. The rudest, least empathetic, humourless person I have ever met in many years of travel. We had an otherwise incredible wedding day, but Cathy at Leaside was just an utter and complete disappointment, to say nothing of insulting.
