Leavenworth Sleigh Rides

Love love love this experience. Was reasonably priced, the location is stunning and it was a perfect time for the family. Only thing I would have complaints on is desk staff in the gift shop. Was greeted very rudely due to having to remember some of my information. The older lady who seemed more in charge was very snarky like I was an inconvenience for making her wait a moment. And not going to lie it made me feel uneasy however the rest of the experience was a success and I hope to be back with the family someday

Our family had a wonderful time! The snow/weather was wonderful. Our horse Cash was amazing. Our guide was fantastic, and the apple cider was really good!

This activity is an 11/10! Zack was our trusty sleigh ride operator and he was GREAT at telling us about the area as well as the horses. He was also very nice and took lots of pictures for us along the way. The apple cider that is provided as part of the experience is absolutely spectacular!! I’d highly recommend this activity if you’re visiting Leavenworth in the winter. It’s seriously so magical and memorable!

My family and I had an incredible time going for a horse drawn sleigh ride on the Santa Sleigh with two lovely horses who were brothers. Our driver Blake was very cordial and personable, sharing lots of great commentary on our ride. He is very gentle with the horses and they seem to be well taken care of. The horses move at quite a slow pace, so it was not frightening in any way. The forest is beautiful and peaceful. We stopped about half way through to have yummy cider and pet the horses. Blake took great pictures of our family with the horses. We continued on and got to see more of the property and the rental cabins , which are amazing. The lodge is rustic and homey and the small gift shop had quality items. The whole experience was flawless and we definitely plan on coming back. Thank you for giving us such a happy memory!

I would advise anybody that is planning on doing one of these sleigh rides to just not. For Christmas this year, we decided we were going to give our kids memories rather than objects so we booked this sleigh ride. As the day got closer, the flooding and things happened so we debated wether we should cancel our trip or not, we watched the live cams and the weather very closely the week leading up to our trip and it was supposed to dump down snow so we decided to make the 4 hour trip down. We checked the live cam Friday the day before our ride and there was a bunch of snow up there so we were excited. Then, later Friday we got an email saying they were cancelling our ride. We were confused so we called them to ask some questions and they told us they had to cancel because of lack of snow. We’ve been so disappointed so we just decided to check the live webcam again to see what was happening up there and much to our surprise they were doing the sleigh rides. I called them because it was a bit upsetting and to add insult to injury they told us they weren’t doing “full sleigh rides, just a private event” that private event they are speaking of was a sleigh ride dinner in which people pay $150 a person. We only paid $55 a person so apparently it wasn’t worth it to keep us peasants on the schedule but the people who paid more got to enjoy their rides. It was hard deciding between this or the reindeer farm but we chose this and that was a mistake. Now the reindeer farm is also booked out and we are here in Leavenworth trying to find things to do. We are disappointed, our kids are disappointed and this is not a good feeling at all.

The location is beautiful and all of the staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our guide Zach and are so glad we got to enjoy this experience.

I’m sad to say the experience was below average for my family of 5. We booked the Old Fashioned sleigh ride and it was anything but magical. The sleigh was essentially two long pieces of plywood facing one another on a rickety old sled. The Santa Sleigh looked like it would’ve been infinitely cozier, but our ride was a poor value at a cost of almost $300!! Our driver didn’t converse, the hot apple cider amounted to some self-serve cider in paper cups, and the route was a boring figure 8 that encircled the property’s cabins. This could be made SO much better with a few tweaks (e.g., a proper sleigh, cozy blankets, holiday lights/decor, a personable wrangler, horses that looked cared for, interesting route, etc.). We all left feeling more than a bit disappointed with our ride. I do not recommend the Old Fashioned Sleigh Ride.

This was an absolutely incredible experience! The horses were majestic and sweet. The workers were so patient and thoughtful and fun. We had fresh falling snow on our ride, and it was magical. The stop for apple cider was so fun also! Highly recommend! The lodge is absolutely stunning also.
