Delicious meal! Loved everything - we shared the beet salad and asked for the cheese on the side. We each got an entree - I got the guinea fowl and my partner got the lamb. Both were very good and came with healthy and well sized vegetable sides. Very hearty portions. Make a reservation if you want to eat indoors but there is also outdoor seating as well. The indoor came be a little stuffy/warm so we actually enjoyed sitting outside in the nice breeze. Clean bathrooms downstairs. Friendly staff and gave extra servings of baguette and olives! Unfortunately i couldn’t have the dessert since all of them were made with raw milk but they all sounded great. Prices were also great for the value and quality of the meal. Would recommend!

The best meal of the trip. This was our fourth visit and the food never disappoints. On top of that we had great service. Highly recommend.

Consistently great food and quick, friendly service. I would highly recommend the lunch fixed menu. Be sure to verify your order with the waiter and on your bill.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. Our reservation was delayed slightly, but that ended up being no issue. The service was great, the food was amazing and the drinks were very nicely paired. Would highly recommend.

I dined here last night with a friend and had a wonderful meal. The young chap serving us was very charming and was very tolerant of our questions. The food was fantastic: we shared the mozzarella salad to start (strawberries were a nice addition), followed by the tuna (beautifully cooked and a light but flavourful meal) and lamb (fork tender) and finished with a truly fantastic chocolate mousse. My only complaint was that the main server was reluctant for us to try a taste of the wines were were torn between - he relented but for somewhere that prides themselves on their wine you should expect that request. I would highly recommend.

Really good bistro with good wines and friendly staff. Beautiful cozy restaurant. We had the terrine, trout gravlax, carrot salad, scallops, cheese and chocolate mousse and all were great. My favorite maybe the terrine but hard to choose.

Google
Quite original menu and that is why i wanted to try it out. The portion of the main dish is too small to be honest. for 29 euros, even considering the design and good ingredient, the portion is too small. The dessert rick cake is great, i didn't take a photo which is a pity. The bread is not to the quality of a high-level restaurant which is a pity as the service and ambiance are at good level. For 2 people with entry/main/dessert + one glass of wine, more than 110 euros is a bit expensive for what we had especially on the quantity . btw: We did get a burger in macdo after this....

Google
An extraordinary gastronomic experience! A very simple setting but no ordinary eatery. The tuna steak was beautifully cooked and the lamb shoulder was so tender. Btw, my photos don’t do the food justice. They are much more delicious than they look.

Yelp
My husband dined at L'Ebauchoir last year and raved about it, so we knew we had to go on our recent trip to Paris. Sadly, it was closed the weekend of French Labor Day, so we bit the bullet and went to lunch straight off a red-eye flight from New York. Grogginess aside, it was one of my favorite meals of our whole vacation. I went with the 3 course prix fixe, which was an amazing value considering the high quality of food and presentation. My first course was a madeleine with creamy whipped chevre and herb sauce. WOW this was amazing. I was so impressed with the balance of the dish, but also the depth of flavor. My next course was the pork, which had a savory jus and seasonal vegetables. This was really great too, though not as good as my husband's duck breast. Our last course, a vanilla pudding, was great too, and I loved seeing the actual specs of vanilla bean scattered throughout. My last compliment is towards the staff. The meal timing was flawless, they checked in on us several times, and even asked why I didn't finish my vanilla pudding (alas I was full!). This was easily a 5 star lunch.

Yelp

Yelp
Went to Paris on an anniversary trip for the first time, and was actually recommended to check this place out from the owner of Frenchie's restaurant in Coral Gables (Miami)! Made a reservation for 4 and made our way in! The owner was a sweetheart who told me he was happy to hear his old friend in Miami sent him some hungry fans! The atmosphere is what you expect from an evening in Paris with nice sounds and the smell of fresh food. Everything we eat was honestly fantastic. I recommend making a reservation if you can just to be safe, they get packed pretty quick as the space is not small, but not large either.

Yelp
I stayed in a hotel just across the street from this restaurant. The food was so delicious, and the service was impeccable. I ate here every single day for 5 days straight. My next trip back to Paris I will definitely come back to this restaurant.

Yelp
Very good. Menu changes every two weeks. If I lived here I would make sure I tasted each menu! Quite good. Portions are not overdone. Just right.

Yelp
Awesome, awesome, awesome! For two people, the peach salad with buffalo mozzarella, foie gras, and pan-seared bonito with prosciutto were spectacular and VERY filling. Not at all touristy and frequented mostly by locals. Is this "bar food" for Parisians? Too jealous! Staff was friendly and accommodating to English speaking visitors. Good food, good atmosphere, really makes you appreciate traveling through France. Reservations for an indoor table strongly suggested.

Yelp
A lovely little place with a both cheap and nice three course lunch. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Made reservations in French on a Friday afternoon for 6pm Saturday. Last dinner of Parisian vacay. Employee on the phone was very polite, don't know if he spoke English. When I arrived w/kid, menus were in French & English. Very useful. I ordered in French, waitress heard kid question in English and she immediately switched to answer the kid back. Not too packed, but after 15mins, they started filling up. Service quick/friendly. Found this venue via yelp.fr, it was in our neighborhood. Food was AMAZING! The organic egss in wild mushroom mix atop truffled mashed potatoes in a red wine sauce, sooo good, we had to order another one after our first inital bites. This may have been our downfall, as we had no room for dessert. Duck pate, lamb chops in fig/dried fruit sauce atop eggplant, grilled fish (seabream) atop more truffled mash in a citrus fruit sauce were all tasty. Goal here is to source things locally & organically whenever possible. So cool to find locavore ideology! Menu changes regularly, according to our waitress. Dining room has ability to seat large parties. One group of 10 was leaving. Another party arrived right before we did, they were 7 adults & 1 baby. Staff were quick @ setting their group up. (1* less because of harried staff trying to catch up w/orders & scary very dimly lit/steep stairwell to basement where WC were. Scary b/c I saw heavily pregnant lady in heels clack her way down and up said stairwell, gingerly.)

Yelp
On our first night during a recent trip to Paris, we decided to try out L'Ebauchoir based on reviews from Yelp. We ordered a bottle of rose and red, based on recommendations by our server. Both were excellent. My main course was Confit de Canard. It was my first time trying the dish and the bar is now raised very high. I have tasted it many times since, very few places coming close to the tender, juicy flavors I experienced that night. I ordered the creme brule for dessert and it was simply decadent. I highly recommend both dishes. Staff was very friendly. Best part? Prices were very reasonable.

Yelp
Great spot. Came here on the recommendation of our "off the beaten path" tour guides, and L'Ebauchoir did not disappoint. Appetizers and main dishes were rich and delicious, comfort food style. Dessert was AMAZING. We ordered the strawberry cake to share, but I wish we had each ordered our own! Service was kind and attentive and prices were very reasonable. Also-- cool concept. They have several wines on the menu for which you only "pay for what you drink". They bring the entire bottle to your table, so you can feel free to drink it all or just a couple glasses. For two, that's awesome.

Yelp
We couldn't read the French menu. The waiter helped a lot by translating each main dish and desserts for us. Originally we thought we couldn't adjust ourselves to French food and just wanted to try some. However, the food was totally a delicacy and we loved it.

Yelp
I just had the most transcendent meal. I'm only in Paris for 2 days (on business), so I decided to peruse Yelp to see what's good around my hotel. I walked into L'Ebauchoir tonight (Monday) right at 8 pm when it opened, and I was able to be seated right away without a reservation. I ordered the poached egg with pureed truffles/mashed potatoes to start, and that was just the beginning of the magic. The contrast between piping hot truffles/mashed potatoes/sauce and the cool perfectly poached egg was wondrous. I then moved on to the lamb dish, which was served atop some delightfully smokey eggplant. Finally, I had the dessert, which was some kind of cream upon meringue upon vanilla ice cream (White Dessert Items), accented with fresh raspberries and berry sauce that had a great interplay of textures and colors. I loved it. I ate by myself, at a leisurely pace, while reading a magazine and sipping some red wine in between the courses. LOVED IT. Not touristy at all, but the staff is very friendly and speaks English.

Yelp
We ordered the duck and the sea bass and both were really good! The staff speaks English here so we had no problem ordering.

Yelp
Good food, nice staff, pretty little French eatery. They were nice enough to let me and my husband get in without a reservation. Had a menu in english.

Yelp
We came here because of all the reviews from other Yelpers. The food was decent, but not great. I ordered the foie gras as a starter which was overly flavored with fig sauce. I just personally don't like my food too sweet... which it was. My main course was the pork which I knew came with fig but didn't realize it would be covered in the same fig sauce my foie gras was covered in. I wasn't too happy. I then tried my husband's salad which was also topped with a fig dressing!! I'm not sure if fig is in season but I thought "WOW , this is fig overload!" I noticed earlier that they messed up the dessert order of the person sitting next to us. When my dessert came, they also screwed up my order. I asked for a creme brûlée , they gave me something else. They quickly took the wrong dessert they served me and brought me my creme brûlée. Unfortunately, it wasn't at all good! The top layer wasn't at all crisp like a typical creme brûlée and the flavor was quite forgettable! I was quite disappointed as creme brûlée is one of my favorite desserts. It would've made up for everything else if that was perfect ! Oh well! C'est la vie !

Yelp
One of the great problems in Paris is that the sheer myriad of restaurants often makes it hard to find something that rises above a generic French menu of confit de canard. Having made two visits in as many months L'Ebauchoir has fast become one of my firm favourites in Paris. It's a modest menu, but comprised of a small handful of dishes that, whilst relatively simple are cooked incredibly well. The atmosphere is buzzing, the wine selection superb and the menu utilises a modest, seasonal selection of ingredients, with an emphasis on a simple marriage of flavours, perfectly executed. No fuss, no frills, just great food.

Yelp
Fantastic food. Cozy restaurant and the food is delicious. Great service from both our server & owner/ manager. One of the best meals we had in Paris ( and we did have many!) Order anything; it will be delicious.

Yelp
Off the beaten path, L'ebauchoir is a wonderful, lively restaurant serving delicious comfort food to happy people. My scallops were juicy and delicious, as was my smoked salmon entree. Atmosphere was particularly convivial.

Yelp
Very nice small restaurant with high quality foodstuffs well prepared. We arrived just at opening time, when everything was empty and thought they were pulling our legs when they assured us, they might still have a place (which they did). 30 minutes later the place was FULL, but service and melas were unaffected by this and remained very good. I'd say you can do far worse than getting here. English is spoken, BTW.

Yelp
One of the best casual meals I had in Paris! Everything was great: the ambiance (lively), the food (delicious bistro fare with a modern twist), the price (reasonable by Parisian standards), the service. The only thing that was amiss was the fair number of items that the restaurant had run out of by the time we'd arrived for dinner around 10pm. Still, it wasn't hard to find something tasty on the menu. It can get a little noisy there, so don't expect to have a very intimate conversation.

Yelp
Enjoyed the best meal of our stay in Paris at this slightly out-of-the-way bistro. The menu, the ambience and everything about L'Ebauchoir makes it well worth seeking out.

Yelp
I was alone for a night in Paris, staying very close to L'Ebauchoir. It caught my eye when passing by, and after seeing the reviews, I felt I had to try it. The menu was slightly intimidating as my French is basically non-existent, but one of the waiters offered to translate it for me and walked me through each item (it's not translated as it changes frequently). I'm so glad he did because I ordered the lamb, which was not a word I knew, and it was delicious. I also got some help with the dessert menu and was extremely happy with my choice. Great atmosphere, helpful staff and delicious food. So glad I listened to the reviews and gave it a shot.

Yelp
I had told my friend Sergey that I wanted to show him a typical French bistro with light priced menu in the Bastille area. I can't say it was as cheap as I expected but it was definitely a very good surprise. I won't say a word about the warmth welcome as there wasn't such a thing. Anyway let's concentrate on the fare! The dishes are tasty and creative at the same time which is quite refreshing. As a starter we had a delicious sea bream tartar (13 euro) and a calf's head terrine (8 euro). Everything was perfect. Then my friend had some red mullets (17 euro) and I enjoyed beef with mushrooms and carrots (25 euro). All the dishes were bistro fare but always with an inventive touch. The desserts, cheesecake (6,50 euro) with strawberries, were light and delicious. The clientele was a mix of locals with loads of tourists. A first it scared me a little (I was starting to think I went to a tourist trap!) but the quality of the cuisine was such that we forgot about those noisy tourists and... became noisy too (the wine certainly helped)!

Valentina B.

Yelp
The food was awesome and the environment was friendly. The place was packed but surprisingly it was not too noisy. The real star of the evening was the food though! We had 2 main dishes (canard and lamb). Everything, from the meat to the vegetables was perfectly cooked. the green beens were crunchy, tomatoes still juicy but not messy, and the meats were tender and juicy. Awesome. We also ordered smashed potatoes with black truffle as a side. That was totally disappointing: the taste was banal and totally not worth the 7 euros you pay to get them. The dessert was good as well. Portions were fair. Not extremely generous but definitely enough to fill you with one main course only. As a side note: we can speak a decent French. Nevertheless, the waiters kept on switching to English. I found this slightly rude. But my husband saw it as a kindness. I guess it is open to interpretation! Overall, it was a very good experience. If you like meat, this is the place to go. We spent about 35 euros per person, but we got a bottle of wine.

Yelp
Last night four friends and myself had a wonderful meal at L'Ebauchoir. Every component of the dining experience was sheer perfection: the gracious staff, the comfortable ambiance and, most especially, the food. All of my guests lauded each of their selections, which was quite a relief as I had made the suggestion. Each dish was cooked to perfection, the subtlety of flavors and combination of ingredients was perfection. I wholeheartedly recommend LEbauchoir to anyone looking for a exceptional meal they will savor and remember . Parfait!
