10 neighbourhood favourites in Novena to visit - SilverKris

"A casual Filipino eatery run by a Filipina family with lechon-catering roots, serving authentic spit-roasted suckling pig with crispy crackling and chunky, succulent meat; the menu also features Filipino classics such as lechon paksiw (a tangy vinegar pork stew) and lumpiang Shanghai (deep-fried spring rolls)." - Vanessa Tai

If you're looking for a place to get good lechon this is it! Place is run by friendly and helpful staff, and food is authentic. Overall price for 1kg of lechon is 45 dollars, which is good for 4-5 people. Tried their sisig, eggplant and vegetable dishes which were all flavourful and delicious! They also stock beer that goes well with the food. Parking is readily available in the carpark behind. Definitely worth a trip over here to enjoy their philipino food!

heard there was authetic fillipino food in Novena so here we are! we initially wanted to order the lechon, but was told it was sold out at around 7pm. so instead we ordered sisig, sizzling bopis, kare kare and chicharon bulaklak to share! for most Singaporeans, sisig will be familiar to our tastebuds as it’s a mix of pork jowl/ears/belly and eggs! so the taste is umami with strong pepper flavours. the kare kare is like a thin curry with strong peanut flavours, mixed with pork belly and eggplants those who more adventurous can try the sizzling bopis (pork lungs) and the chicharon bulaklak (deep fried ruffle fat)

Lechon is good, the balat is crispy. Eat at this resto for few times. The place is not big, not small. A bit noisy once its crowded. They have ensaladang mangga and talong, sisig, pancit, buko pandan etc. They have san miguel light beer also if u want to have some beer to chill. The resto is facing novena church, after mass u can visit the place if u crave for lechon.

Been coming here for around 5 years and it's always been great. The lechon is juicy, big and crunchy and the sinigang has a refreshing sour taste. My favorite dish here is the sizzling bopis, which is different parts of the pig chopped and cooked on a hot plate. Wonderfully fragrant and with a "toasted" flavour thanks to the hot plate.

There’s a bus stop right in front of the shop, which makes it super convenient to get to. The meal and drink cost $12.50, and the food was impressive, the skin was perfectly crispy and the meat incredibly juicy. Definitely worth the trip.

Lechon Republic is easily one of the best spots for Filipino food in Singapore. The lechon was crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and the sisig was flavorful and perfectly done. Portions are generous and worth the price.

Good roasted pork. Two hungry people (we) got 0.5kg and almost finished it. I’ll say it wasn’t as good as 5 years ago though it could be just batch to batch variation. Still highly recommended!

We decided to try this place out as we heard from friends that they serve nice Filipino food. But to be honest I wasn't that impressed. Unfortunately they ran out of lechon, so we had the Sisig and lumpia Shanghai. The Sisig was pretty good, but quite disappointed with the lumpias, which were quite bland and the filling quite mushy. Service was quite fast, but when we arrived (weekend evening) we had to queue for a while to get a table. So beware that it might get busy here!
