It is always our pleasure to drop in for a quick snack or a meal whenever we are in the area. Today I had a craving for their doubles with hot sauce and even added some supplemental goat curry. To wash it all down, a small champagne cola. Just the most perfect little afternoon snack! Our favorite Caribbean restaurant in mississauga! I wish we came here more often. Since we've moved away, we try to stop in every time we are in the area! Sometimes when afternoon tea I love to come and grab two doubles! It really hits the spot. This last visit we had they are jerk chicken lunch which is a fabulous value and tried the new butter chicken wrapped in Roti with extra gravy on top! The portion sizes are extremely generous and you are guaranteed to either leave full or have to take a doggy bag home!

Google
Leela's is an icon for Trinidadian food in the GTA. Unfortunately, this visit was quite disappointing, and my craving for doubles and aloo pie has gone unsatisfied. The aloo pie barely had any aloo. It was mostly dough. The channa in the doubles had no curry flavor. It mostly tasted like boiled channa.

Google
I truly love the food here. The Doubles are great and the roti is amazing. One of my favorite spots in Mississauga

Google
I have heard about this resto serving good and honest classic roti 🫓 and doubles. Many restaurants have come and gone. And this restaurant still remains. It is a testament to its food and loyal following built over many years. The curry chicken roti was good. The chicken had plenty of curry flavour. So the seasoning was on point. The chicken was not overly saucy where the roti explodes because of too much sauce. But to each their own. The doubles had a hint of sweetness which was a surprise. But it was okay 👍. No complaints really. The service is very friendly and cheerful 😀. I do love a family one and operated business. There is a sense of pride and joy here. I will definitely 💯 return to try their other rice dishes later on and report back Happy eats everyone 😎

Google
Delicious sweet and spicy doubles 😍 Perfect for a snack before shopping or late night.

Google
Great atmosphere, pristine cleanliness and a beautiful mural to add to the very special treat of some of the best Trini food you’ll have away from home!

Google
We stopped by Leela's for dinner. I ordered the Boneless Chicken Roti and my wife ordered the Butter Chicken. We found them both to be delicious. I went for the mini but I should have ordered a large. The hot sauce on the side was tasty but it is hot. I'll certainly be back if I'm in the neighborhood.

Google
Caribbean food has been on my wish list for a long time and finally we got to have lunch at Leela’s. Ordered for Doubles & Meat with Chicken and Goat. It was amazing and has a close resemblance to Indian food. We also ordered Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas and it was fantastic and spicy. Loved it!!

Yelp
Buy extra doubles because you will crave more. Curry anything is heaven. People are great . My go to place nearby!!! *Does my Goat Roti Dance*

Yelp
Ordered: Doubles (~CAD$4): curried chana (chickpeas) with chutney; medium spice Aya's take: First stop when we landed was for a quick bite at Leela's! I've never had Doubles before and wow have I been missing out! The fried flatbread was crispy and light with nice flavor throughout. The curried chana was absolutely delicious and the chutneys took this to the next level. They have 3 chutneys: mango, bandania-cucumber, and tamarind. It definitely had a kick but the blend of flavors came together so deliciously. One of my favorite bites of 2024!

Yelp
I've been here many times over the years. This place is a gem! Their doubles are delicious and despite the inflation they've kept their prices low. You order at the counter and they have some tables for dine in but I have mostly come here for takeout. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
I had a shrimp doubles, a regular doubles, and a chicken roti (Tuesday/Wednesday special), along with two orders of pholourie. Everything was fantastic and delicious. However, I did not enjoy the pholourie or the tamarind sauce, as they lacked flavor. I will stick to my favorites. Overall, this place is a 10/10.

Yelp
Tried the doubles here for the first time and liked them so much I ordered another one to go. The dough is soft and fresh, the potatoes well seasoned, and I enjoyed both the sweeter flavour of the no spice double with chutney and the intensity of the mild spice double. A very filling snack that's full of flavour. I'll definitely return to try the rest of the menu. Compared to doubles elsewhere, the ones here have a stronger flavour and the mild spice has a hotter kick to it. The online website shows some daily specials too, which I'll be back to try

Yelp
We don't get Trini food too often in our area so finding this restaurant was a real treat. Quick service and good food. We got roti, saheena, and doubles. All were excellent! This was the first experience having doubles with meat and it was fantastic. They also had the Bertie's pepper sauce in stock which a was a real treat.

Yelp
I like double double . My husband likes the spicy , I like it regular no spice. The texture of the chick peas is sooo good, soft and tasty . It's good to eat it fresh . They have other things on menu too , like stuffed roti and curry's . A must try .

Yelp
First time back since 2019. Still not dining out but take-away is always a good option. This place is as legit as ever. Good doubles with chana, dal puri with meat ... and the famous Trini poulourie, saheena and fried herrings. OMG. Oh, and my favourite currant rolls, another Trini specialty. The prices have increased as has everything everywhere. Leela's makes a double which isn't dripping in grease, just flavour. May Leela's be in existence for the remainder of my natural life.

Yelp
I will travel all the way from Michigan again to try the doubles at this place. They were so tasty and freshly made. The only thing I would recommend that the puri should be a little bit harder than it was. All the food and the service was excellent.
google avatar

DJuan L.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. They have a wide variety of menu options as well as baked goods and sauces for sale. The food was delicious and the service is fast. I ordered the bake and shark, a double and a shrimp roti. I ordered the roti and doubles spicy but they didn't have much heat in my opinion. The bake and shark was probably my favorite. I'd go back just for that. One thing to note is that they only take cash and Canadian debit. You can not use an America debit card there.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a busy place. I found it through Yelp, and there is a Yelp deal if you checkin. I had a chicken roti and I'd go back for more. This was super good. Seating in the place isn't great. Reasonably priced.

Amratha C.

Yelp
I decided to try the goat-in-bone roti from this place after hearing good things over the years, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to the hype. I ordered through DoorDash, and the experience was disappointing. The food was overwhelmingly salty--so much so that it felt like eating a pile of salt. It completely overshadowed any other flavors. Sadly, I won't be coming bac

Victor S.

Yelp
The Paratha Roti was excellent! Haven't had one like this since Trinidad! Fillings were a bit scarce though and the mango chutney definitely needs to be chunkier. But a great roti shop overall.
google avatar

Gabriel S.

Yelp
Duck roti was ok. The size was ok - slightly bigger than a handful (I've big hands). The taste was OK. It had big chunks of bone-in duck, but it was just duck in dhal, which didn't really go with the duck. The doubles were not very good. They were quite soggy on the outside even when fresh. The chickpea stew inside was ok (it's possible to be flavourful without being spicy, but this lacked both). They were served with a very liquid chutney which was nice, adding a nice fruity and not-too-spicy edge. The Aloo pie was pretty good - a chewy fried pastry with very mildly spiced potato inside, enhanced by the same chutney. It was significantly better than the doubles. They honoured an old Yelp offer which isn't meant to be active anymore, which was nice.

Yelp
Love this place. Awesome boneless chicken roti and doubles. Best place around. Love the remodel.

Nicole C.

Yelp
Delicious, and I would happily recommend. I've been going there for years and I've never been disappointed. Truly authentic Trinidadian food.

Yelp
Don't know why I didn't review this establishment before today.. have been eating here for a number of years. Located in the Long & McQuade plaza heading towards Rathburn & Queensbridge. I like their doubles. It's what I mostly order for a quick bite. Have tried different filings overtime; Channa, shrimp, goat and saltfish. Have also had their boneless goat and saltfish bake. Huge portions, very filling. My gripe is the dough for the doubles gets soggy fast. When at home, I'll place them in the oven to crisp up. A mom and pop shop I used to visit in Toronto before shuttering used to make them that way. Nice and flaky, adding a bit of crunch. Last time I had the salt fish here, it was super salty! Recommend pairing it with some other dish. My go to for raising low blood pressure ;)

Yelp
We are regulars at Leela's as they have the best doubles and Trinidadian roti that we have so far found in the GTA. We frequently order doubles when we have friends over as it the perfect party snack. Doubles consist of chick peas in a barra (a kind of dough made with tumeric) with a sweet tamarind sauce and optional pepper sauce. It can come with other toppings, but we like the medium spice option. You can also opt for pepper on the side. The rotis can come with a choice of curry meat bone or boneless, potato and other optional fillings. Our favourites are chicken or goat rotis. They are very filling and satisfying and you can control the amount of spice. The price is fair but we frequently end up spending a bit more because the other snacks are so tempting (pholourie, aloo pie, etc). In conclusion, this place has been a staple for Trinidadian food. This place is one of our top recommendations for any friends that visit Mississauga and are looking to try some its best cuisine.

Yelp
Best doubles, roti and choka outside Trinidad! Goat, shrimp, chicken, duck, we've tried most of the menu. Baigan choka, pumpkin, bhagi, all delicious!! Sada, paratha, dhalpuri, fry bake, aloo pie, Oh my!! Even their pepper sauce is delicious. When we make the drive out, we buy breakfast, lunch and extra veg for the next morning. My whole family loves Leela's

Yelp
Awesome place for a goat roti. Yum yum yum. Service is great and always friendly. Order ahead to make things easier.

Yelp
I'm conflicted to write this review as this place has been usually good, however, yesterday wasn't the best experience. TIP: I don't think calling in an order is any faster. In my case, it proved to be the wrong move! I called in, told them that I live approx. 10mins away, and left my house shortly after hanging up. Since restaurant has a one-way traffic system, I just assumed that I still needed to stand in the line, so that's what I did. When I finally got to the front, I still needed to wait. I seemed to have waited longer than the other people who pre-ordered. When I got home, Goat Roti was not quite room temperature. So I suspect that my order was sitting on the order desk when I arrived, but the girl handling the cash didn't notice. I did inform her that I called in my order! In addition, Goat - although it was seasoned well - it was on the dry side. No gravy. So if you're reading this, I think I'd suggest just ordering when you get there! I also noticed the man who usually works there, wasn't around.

Yelp
The layout is good, and the items were well presented for the average customer BUT taste-wise I think I'll stick with Brooklyn, NY for my Trini food...

Thompson L.

Yelp
Ngon qua!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thich Boneless roti va Doubles

Yelp
Ordered takeout from Leela's just before closing. The store was busy but orders were taken quickly. The food held up pretty well until it was eaten about half an hour later. The pepper sauce is really spicy but had lots of flavor. The bake & shark was moist and the bread was nice a fluffy. There were big pieces of chicken but on the drier side. Overall, a tasty and filling meal!

Yelp
This is a very lazy restaurant. I tried to support my local businesses during the pandemic. I am autistic with dietary restrictions. As a consequent, I always request that food items that are problematic for me not be included, whenever necessary. Rather than simply omitting an item, as per my request, they cancelled the entire order. Even after I called and said it was fine. It almost like they are not willing to use common sense. Last week I ordered fried okras, I received okras that were so hard, it literally cut my throat. It was like eating splinters. I thought "let me give them another chance....but then today they were sub par again. They must be doing too well during this pandemic to continue with the care and service they once provided. I will never do business with them again.

Yelp
Where else can you get a dahlpuri, curry mango, fried bodi, baigan choka, and fried okra for $11?! While most restaurants' vegetarian offerings are limited to potatoes, rice and peas, chana and maybe a bit of plantain, Leela's knows how to heat things up and blow its competition out of the water. Not only is the vegetarian platter a smash hit---curry mango is a MUST-TRY, it's also got amazing doubles (I can never resist getting one!), and good desserts like cassava cake and currant rolls. It's consistently one of the restaurants I suggest to friends or take them to when they're visiting Mississauga. I love it because whether or not they're vegetarian, we both gonna eat well. But especially for vegetarians, I just haven't found a non-vegetarian restaurant that compares. Highly recommended!

Paul D.

Yelp
Not sure what happened to this place but the last three times I've come in here the rotis have been very dry. I keep asking for extra sauce because of this and they still don't put enough. It's a shame because they were once very good. Time to try somewhere else.
google avatar

Anna U.

Yelp
I've only tried the doubles and aloopie but man are they good! The aloopie is especially addicting. The dough is really tasty and the filling is flavourful. Be careful about the spice levels because hot is actually pretty spicy lol. I'd get medium from here on out.
google avatar

Pooja P.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food. Have only done takeout from here but love love love their food. So fresh and authentic. My favorites are the dal puri and their delicious hot sauce. Warning: that sauce is hot!! They have a variety Of specials everyday and some really great veggie options as well. Highly recommmend!
google avatar

Tania L.

Yelp
Still the same rating, even though the food is quickly growing on me! (I think you'll understand why in a sec.) My family decided to order takeout today, and were intrigued by the side orders whereby you can order by 8oz., 12oz., or 20oz. We thought that this was perfect, and a great value - we'd be getting almost a pound of meat for only $7 to $8! However, when we went to get our order, we were massively disappointed. It turns out that the 8oz wasn't by weight (which was what we thought the reasonable person would expect), but by volume. For what we paid, we received only 2 tiny containers of food! Despite all this criticism, the food was tasty, rich, and delicious. My favourite is without doubt the goat, but it turns out the duck is really good as well! All are fall off the bone tender.
google avatar

Nora T.

Yelp
If you find yourself in this corner of Mississauga, there's nothing better than Leela's. In fact, I suggest you make a trip out there. If you are on the run, I suggest you call in and order, because it will take time. They make everything fresh, to order and it's evident in the quality. The menu is quite extensive with all the classics, as well as some delicious homemade sauces. The boneless chicken roti is usually my go to, but my favourite here are the doubles with tamarind sauce. Each double is quite hefty that one is a solid snack; two is a good lunch. And if you've never tried Caribbean cuisine, this is a good place to start.

Yelp
What can say about this place!! Delicious!! Amazing foood and great service. I wish i lived close to thisnplace so i can visit atleast omce a week Had chicken stew and callola with rice and the combination was dynamic!! Very aromatic and fulling dish. Good quantity for 1.2 meals but obviouslely i finished in single seating! Plus the side hot sauce is really hot! I love hot food and even for me the sauce was HOT! LOVED every single bite with hot sauce. Happy to have a place where hot is real hot!! Also i took a doubles to go and of course it was the best!! Overall a 5 start and my type of a place!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food excellent lunch specials. Recommend the boneless chicken roti. 7.99 specials are the best

Yelp
Visited Leela while visiting Toronto. The restaurant has a family friendly atmosphere and serves authentic Trinidadian dishes. I ordered several items from the menu & especially enjoyed the Callaloo, doubles, pumpkin and mango. I highly recommend this restaurant & I look forward to visiting whenever I return to the north.

Yelp
One star add I am beging to like this place more . Great deals on lunch a d perfect spice . Great serive . I might give them full stars by the end of the year I have try more food .

Tony J.

Yelp
Don't accept there advertised coupons. Food was blah!!! Recommend driving to Scarborough for good Caribbean food.
google avatar

Yelp
My co-workers have opened me up to the fairly unexplored world of trini food. Leela's was AMAZING. I ordered the boneless jerk chicken with rice and peas, which was (of course) safe to eat (i.e., gluten free). My only issue with it is that it was SO DAMN HOT. I chugged like two water bottles and still couldn't finish it. I may have accidentally put hot sauce on top that I thought was mango chutney so until I can figure that out, I wouldn't even remove a star for unbearable heat. However, even with the fires of hell burning my tongue I manged to eat more than half. It was AMAZING. My colleagues had various other items, including the doubles and were all super happy with their meals. One even ordered more to fuel her through the week. So Leela's wins a five star review any day in my books!
google avatar

Nat L.

Yelp
1. I enjoyed the (boneless)jerk chicken ! It's pretty spicey but if you like more of jerk seasoning , we'll this place is for you! 2. I did enjoy their Roti,I can't say nothing bad. Just the chicken pieces are pretty big, would be nice if they cut it a bit smaller. ( Normally I put extra potatoes or gravy, so it's not too dry)overall I enjoyed it.
google avatar

Sophie L.

Yelp
Very good! Probably the best roti in GTA! Jerk chicken is very flavoured. If you like spicy, you will definitely love it!
google avatar

Francis G.

Yelp
Tried the doubles with meat (goat) with medium pepper (spice level) and boneless goat roti (paratha, medium pepper) in regular size. Both were fantastic! It was my first time eating the doubles and I am addicted! The online ordering with email confirmation made it so much easier to pick up my food. On my second visit, I had the Tuesday/Wednesday special. I chose boneless chicken, Dhal & rice, medium pepper. I also ordered the mini duck roti (paratha, medium pepper). Since the online ordering wasn't available at this time so I showed the screenshot of my order. Initially I was surprised to hear that the free coupon from Yelp is no longer valid. But the owner was nice enough to honour the offer. One star is lost because I didn't get the duck roti that I ordered. I got goat with bone inside instead! If it was the boneless one, I would've been less upset.

Toni S.

Yelp
Best roti in city centre of Mississauga. My go to is the boneless curry goat roti with peas. Fast and friendly.
google avatar

Rhonda S.

Yelp
My family and I drove nearly 500 miles from Indiana, USA to try this restaurant for the first time. All I can say is that we were instantaneously transported to Trinidad when we took our first bites of the roti and doubles!! This place is the real deal!! I will gladly drive the 1000 miles roundtrip to have this food again. Well done Leela's!!
google avatar

Nada S.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Great for a quick and hearty Roti or my favourite doubles. Relatively good prices and fast service but I wish there was more seating. They really need to expand. Expect a wait when they're really busy. I always get the channa roti but anything you order here will be fantastic. The staff is usually pretty friendly and often enjoy a little humorous banter if you make the effort. Make sure you get some of the tamarind chutney on your roti. It's fantastic!
google avatar

Judy H.

Yelp
For a stress free Tuesday, you don't need to cook dinner. They have Tuesday's special at $3.33. While you wait, there's reggae music playing in the background. Happy: For the price, I'm full with a chicken roti with spicy sauce on the side. It's really spicy and awesome!! Not happy: Sometimes the wait can be 15-25 minutes depending when you on a Tuesday. There was not enough chick peas and pieces of potatoes on top of the rice. See photo. Too much rice and not enough goodies. Verdict: I'll only go back on Tuesday's special as it's more worth it. Prepare to wait as I wonder how long it takes them to prepare behind closed doors.
google avatar

Jamille S.

Yelp
Drove 7hrs from Indiana to taste and it did not disappoint. Most authentic trini restaurant I've been to in North America. I'll definitely go again no doubt and drive the total 14hrs!!

Biana S.

Yelp
It's better than average. It's good, but used to be great. It was the best when it first opened. Now, not much stands out, but still a lot better than many.
google avatar

Asmaa H.

Yelp
They're upholding covid protocols well! Their food is very hit or miss. There curry chicken and goat is usually very consistent and delicious!
google avatar

Barbara D.

Yelp
We've visited this spot a few times, and overall, each experience has been pretty average (if that). Located just west of Mavis Road and Rathburn Road, in the same plaza as Long & McQuade, we've visited whenever the cravings for 'doubles' hits us (for those unfamiliar, doubles are a Caribbean street food similar to a sandwich, stuffed with chick peas and spices). To be honest, I've had infinitely better doubles out in Scarborough and while the the doubles at Charlie's (another Caribbean joint in Mississauga at Hurontario and Dundas) were also pretty basic to me, I liked the Charlie's version vs. Leela's version. On a recent visit, we purchased three (3) doubles and a potato pie (aloo pie). The doubles were so soaked in oil that it was so flimsy and difficult to pick up. It lacked the slight crispiness the flatbread should have, and was to the point of soggy. The aloo pie was okay but lacked the flavour I'm used to. Overall, pretty mediocre. There are many other spots in the GTA (and Mississauga) that do these items better.
google avatar

Steve P.

Yelp
Great experience here! Staff were extremely friendly, and the food was delicious!! Got the jerk chicken with a few doubles on the side, and it was all incredible. Favourite Caribbean place in the GTA!
