I have just spent two beautiful days in the Leenane Hotel with my wife and four legged son. This hotel in the picturesque location of the Connemara mountains was just breath taking. When we arrived through the front door of the hotel we were blown away with the characteristics and the history of this fabulous place. |As we had our dog with us we were giving one of the rooms on the ground floor level of the hotel. To our amazement the room we got was facing the Fjord river and Connemara mountains which was just a joy to wake up to every morning of our stay. The rooms were very clean, beds were very comfortable and bathroom was very modern. Even do we were beside a main road the noise levels weren't bad from outside.|If the hotel wasn't lovely enough, the staff were just as good as what we had read ourselves in reviews. We were greet with staff that took great pride in their work and seemed to love working in this elegant old hotel. |We eat lunch and dinner in the hotel for the two nights we stayed and were quiet surprised at how reasonable the prices were for food which was only fantastic and the drinks that you had a good range to pick from.|On our first day we took advantage of getting a massage as the hotel had the wonderful Brett (the masseur) on the premises who preformed his magic by getting rid of all stress and tightened muscles in my body. |We enjoyed our evenings either in the restaurant eating or in the beautiful lounge area with its open fire and sitting area that was made for unwinding and relaxing.|I know a lot of people would give the Leenane Hotel 5 stars but I would give it six if I could. The whole experience was wonderful and I am so glad I got to visit this part of Ireland and I can't wait to get back over to Connemara and stay once again in the Leenane Hotel. Thank you everyone at the Hotel for making our two nights so wonderful.

The instant we arrived the greeting was warm. A family run establishment friendly and excellent service.||The sitting room and entrance were beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. They were holding a cake sale for the local school which we gladly supported. What beautiful cakes! I hope they raised lots of money ||The view from and the ambiance of the hotel is breathtaking. It looks like a small castle filled with balconies on the mountain side over looking the water and mountains.||We stayed in room 69, downstairs family room. Very comfortable, quiet, clean and everything we needed. Bathroom was modern and great shower!||Dinner was fabulous. The steak was perfect and the sauce wow! Slight thing the decor in the dining rooms is not to the rest of the hotel standard but has bags of potential.||Breakfast was okay, the assortment was brilliant, the cooked element let it down a little bit due to being too greasy, the coffee was fabulous.i would have the patched eggs next time.||I can't wait to come back, it's such a fabulous location and 15mins from the Abbey. Thank you to the team for a wonderful stay.

My partner and I came from Dublin on the 23rd November with our dog for a night. We had the best experience we ever had in a hotel. The rooms are amazing and it was great to have a separate door leading outside with easy exit with doggo. We had amazing room service, the food was great. I truly cannot recommend this hotel enough and I truly cannot wait to be back. The view from the room was beautiful, the location is truly incredible with amazing landscape. And they are Very dog friendly, during breakfast one of the workers offered to open the bar separately for us because we have a slightly reactive doggo, but we kindly declined and had breakfast in the room while enjoying the view.

We stopped here for dinner. It was busy but the young men did their best to get us a table. Dylan was most helpful. The food was amazing. The brown bread starter was so tasty and the lamb was the best I ever had. It fell off the bone. We will definitely return again soon.

What a gem in the north west!! A beautiful kept hotel with clear respect for the historical values of the orgional features such as stairs case, high ceilings and fablous cornicing. Its rated as a 3 star over all, spacious rooms in the new section overlooking the lake. but my goodness the food thats available is worthy of 5 stars alone, both dinner and breakfast was exceptional. excellent and efficient service with just enough but not in your face the whole time. Brilliant value for money. Can't wait to get up here again. Well done 5 stars !!

We had a great time here, fantastic location. Beautiful hotel. Every member of staff are friendly, polite and helpful. We got to see what we needed, maybe not enough time to see everything. But we would come back fornsure.

Stunning location overlooking Killary Harbour. Food superb. The sea bream is a must. My husband had beef and Guinness stew and it was the best yet. Tomás is a great character and has everything running like clockwork in the restaurant and with a humorous chat for all whi come through. Dylan was a lovely young man who we overheard taking food orders and had an easy, welcoming manner too. Would give this a 10* if I could

Yelp
It was okay.... Lots of tourists and the rooms were....historic? I could hear the people above me walking and the bar below me.....the food was okay, but the best meal was not on their main menu but their bar menu and that was the lamb shank..... It would have been nice if the hotel had more history on the area and the hotel itself. The location was central and located in a beautiful location, but if I went back I would choose a cheaper alternative that wasn't so touristic. Staff was helpful, but once I came back to my room and found the cleaning ladies reading a book that had been given to me. The room could use some updating. The bed was short and the tub was huge and long. A tiny television up near the ceiling.

Yelp
The best place for Seafood in Galway, they have a home made brown bread to die for! Great Hotel and a place to get a great Seaweed Bath. This is one of our Favourites places we visit every year. A great place for Seafood and famous home dark Bread. Lovely view from this area.

Yelp
As with Francis D's review, I am also a huge fan of the home-made brown bread. Superb. Now, I'll be honest from the start - I'm usually not impressed with mussels here in Ireland. Originally from the Southern Hemisphere, I'm used to the New Zealand variety that can get over 5inches in length with enough meat to fill even the hungriest seafood fan. However, the portion size at Leenane Hotel are just right. Advice - go early to avail of the Bar Menu. The Mussels are on this menu too but a couple Euro cheaper. €10 for a half kilo portion, and €16 for the 1kg portion. That'll do nicely! Ask for a bit of bread to soak up some of those superb juices. FYI, my family had the prosciutto-wrapped cod and the seafood chowder. Both were also delicious (however, the chowder can do with a bunch of the mussels thrown in to add variety to the flavour and texture).

Yelp
Stopped at this place for dinner on my to Louisburgh, Co. Mayo. The view at this place is stunning. Food was good as well. Reasonable price and good service. Do stop by when you get the chance. The hotel itself is very historical. Would love to stay at the hotel in the future. The drive to this place from Maum was simply breathtaking.
