This was our third visit to the Leenane Hotel along with members of a motorcycle club. Again as in the past we were all made more than welcome, each and every member of | the staff are so helpful and nothing is a bother to them, always have a smile for you. Again the food was superb you will not find fault with it and served piping hot. It is a credit to the chefs and servers as there was three large groups in three areas with everyone being served at the same time. The manager and front of house team are stars, always helping and looking after everyone absolutely brilliant. A massive thank you to all involved.

Our room was only accessible by going outside, in the rain and up very steep metal staircase. The room itself was about standard with limited space for suitcases or toiletries in the WC. The location of the hotel is amazing, right across from the fjord. The town itself, a 10 minute walk has limited services but the hotel had a varied and reasonable menu. The staff was very personable and accommodating.

Wow, a super restaurant , the food is excellent and the staff , what can I say …. It’s so rare to find friendly well trained staff who know what they are about. If you want a true dinning experience at a very competitive price this is the place to be. We’ll definitely be back and encourage others too.

Wonderful stay (one night) at the hotel in late September, 2025. Historic structure in the village of Leenane (Leenaun), County Galway. 'Historic structure' doesn't imply an outdated facility - it was clean and tastefully preserved with up-to-date room / en suite bathroom appointments. View of the Killary Fjord was impressive. We would not hesitate to book again if we might be in the area.

A friendly, family feeling hotel with staff of long standing. Very reasonably priced with four courses at dinner and sizeable breakfasts. Very comfortable rooms and a super view of the fjord from roadside facing bedrooms. The lounge was large, with the feel of an old library, and blazing log fire. A lovely place to stay.

We took a stay at the lodge. It was great, people were nice and we went to the restaurant of the hotel which was good too ! We took the salmon filet, the mussels and the fish of the day which was a COD. Everything was delicious and well seasoned. We were also given side dishes that were good ! Nothing to add, very well seasoned.

Fantastic view, delicious food at the restaurant. I recommend making a dinner reservation if you stay. The only things keeping this from a 5/5 hotel: 1) no wifi signal in my room (I was on the second floor); 2) no lift. Be prepared to carry your baggage up.

My 2nd time to stay here… way better experience than last time. Had a room in newer part of hotel which was streets ahead of my last experience in older part. Lovely views over the fjord. Last time I had issues with other people’s dogs , am a non dog owner. Since then the hotel has implemented stricter controls on dogs which I really appreciate.||Food is top class. This is a very very busy olde world establishment in the middle of no where, but in a beautiful setting. If a business is prepared to offer exceptional hospitality and food at reasonable rates people will flock no matter how remote it is. Other businesses should take heed.

Yelp
It was okay.... Lots of tourists and the rooms were....historic? I could hear the people above me walking and the bar below me.....the food was okay, but the best meal was not on their main menu but their bar menu and that was the lamb shank..... It would have been nice if the hotel had more history on the area and the hotel itself. The location was central and located in a beautiful location, but if I went back I would choose a cheaper alternative that wasn't so touristic. Staff was helpful, but once I came back to my room and found the cleaning ladies reading a book that had been given to me. The room could use some updating. The bed was short and the tub was huge and long. A tiny television up near the ceiling.

Yelp
The best place for Seafood in Galway, they have a home made brown bread to die for! Great Hotel and a place to get a great Seaweed Bath. This is one of our Favourites places we visit every year. A great place for Seafood and famous home dark Bread. Lovely view from this area.

Yelp
As with Francis D's review, I am also a huge fan of the home-made brown bread. Superb. Now, I'll be honest from the start - I'm usually not impressed with mussels here in Ireland. Originally from the Southern Hemisphere, I'm used to the New Zealand variety that can get over 5inches in length with enough meat to fill even the hungriest seafood fan. However, the portion size at Leenane Hotel are just right. Advice - go early to avail of the Bar Menu. The Mussels are on this menu too but a couple Euro cheaper. €10 for a half kilo portion, and €16 for the 1kg portion. That'll do nicely! Ask for a bit of bread to soak up some of those superb juices. FYI, my family had the prosciutto-wrapped cod and the seafood chowder. Both were also delicious (however, the chowder can do with a bunch of the mussels thrown in to add variety to the flavour and texture).

Yelp
Stopped at this place for dinner on my to Louisburgh, Co. Mayo. The view at this place is stunning. Food was good as well. Reasonable price and good service. Do stop by when you get the chance. The hotel itself is very historical. Would love to stay at the hotel in the future. The drive to this place from Maum was simply breathtaking.
