"Colorado River Discovery Following a tunnel down to the waters edge, a group of 15 of us boarded the pontoon. Leaving our hard hats behind, I glanced up at the massive Glen Canyon dam 700 feet above us. As we started to push off, I caught a glimpse of a fly fisherman on a small rocky patch alongside the sandstone cliffs. He looked like a speck of dust against the cavernous rocks that loomed over us from both sides. Gliding along the smooth Colorado River, the edges of the sandstone played tricks on my eyes as the surface reflections danced with the ripples the pontoon made as it pushed on. The views on this river are unbelievable to say the least. And I think everyone was in awe as I don't recall hearing much from the onlookers. If you get a chance to head up North to explore, this half day pontoon rafting tour is a definite must for a relaxing view of the Colorado River. You'll also get a chance to learn a lot about the history of this dam and the rock formations. Tickets need to be purchased in advance at $89 per person. You'll walk away breathless."

You really have to want to come here as it is on the way to nowhere, but oh so worth the trip. This campground really is short on privacy, but it makes up for it on views. The sites are decently spaced apart, especially on the end near the river, which you can enjoy listening to all night long. Very clean restrooms with flushing toilets, running water, and soap to wash your hands. Pay attention to the water notice taped on the back of the bathroom door; I would not drink the water. Other than great restrooms and views, the camp is short on amenities, but that's not really why you come here.

Several sites available now mid Nov. Clean sites, shade and wind apparatus at most of the smaller sites around the outside. Water available down by boat launch. Extremely well kept National Park campground and boating area. I think some of the litter we did see came here by the heavy rains, it appeared that they take great care of this area.

Amazing location! Not full RV hookups or power, but great to stay a night and have river walk in access to the Colorado River. There's a great section to fish, but the better fishing is renting a boat and heading up the river. We'll definitely be back!

Great views. We have a 21ft trailer and had no problem getting a site. Had to do some leveling. Be prepared to listen to generators from morning into the night.

Very nice campground and views. Clean restrooms but no showers. Some sites are fairly level but most are a challenge to get anywhere near level. Most campers totally ignore the generator hours and the camp host / rangers don't seem to care. We heard generators running until midnight and starting up again at 7:00 am.

You can watch the rafts departing for their white water adventure through the Grand Canyon from this campground. It is mainly quiet, with the exception of people running their generators on occasion. They have redone the bathroom blocks, so they are all working wonderfully. But when they redid them, they took away the access to water for campers to do dishes or fill water bottles. Considering how hot it gets here, I find this very disappointing. If you need water you can access it at the dump station where potable water is offered or down at the boat launch where they have a water bottle fill at the bathrooms (hmmm, that’s an idea..LOL!) or a large spigot near those bathrooms. The views really are amazing, just come prepared!

Very nice and peaceful campground away from the main road, clean toilets, water, amazing views, a bit windy at the times, but it is nice to be away from the city

This was a campground. Great info service by the ranger. Quiet, wished everyone understood quiet rules though. 6am was rough when your on vacation.

The view is nice, RV sights not level, so difficult getting a larger motorhome to level. There are a lot of burrs, so makes it difficult for my German Shepherd to walk, pee and Pooh. I wouldn't come back.

Don't get me wrong, this RV park is surrounded by beauty. But...it's dry camping and it gets really hot in the summer. Bathroom are nasty. Only $20 to stay per night which you put in an envelope when you first come in. I would stay here if you plan on kayaking horseshoe bend only for convenience.

It's an ok campground by the Colorado River. No trees. Pretty barren but a beautiful night sky. Pretty nice bathrooms though the toilets in the mens were having issues. I think I'd go again if in the area. We were on motorcycles.

Pretty sweet basic pay and stay campground.. We arrived around 8:00 P.M. and there were still several spots available within earshot of the Colorado River. Upon arrival we noticed how quiet everyone was! We were more that pleasantly surprised when we woke up to majestic views! The amazing red rock cliffs and the river less than a quarter of a mile away was simply breath taking. I would absolutely stay here again without question.

Love this spot. Hikes abundant. Check weather for heat and wind. Dry camping with views of Colorado where canyon floats begin. Lots of scenics. Would visit and camp again. Stayed in 23' Airstream.
