If you're looking for luxury-hotel amenities, go someplace else. If you're looking for friendly personal service and a clean, comfortable room in a spectacular setting, you would like Lee's Ferry Lodge, located 3 or 4 miles west of Navajo Bridge on 89A.
My room (room 2) was small but comfortable, nicely decorated with a bird motif, good lighting, with a good comfortable queen-sized bed, plenty of pillows, and a very quiet air conditioner. The bathroom was adequate, and there is plenty of hot water (shower only, no tub), but you have to wait a while for it to come.
The restaurant has something like 100 different kinds of beer, and also a half a dozen varieties of wine by the glass. There is a good variety of menu choices, but being there for only one night I could only try one thing. I had the fish and chips and it was very good, with fresh-cut potatoes for the fries. You don't see that often.
I'm an early riser. It was only 5:45 and the sign on the dining room door said breakfast started at 6:30, but the door was open so I went in. The lady there (the owner or manager, I believe) said, "I'm sorry we're not ready for breakfast yet, but would you like a cup of coffee to get you started?" As I reached for the coffee she looked at my hand and said, "I see you're married. Do you need a second cup for your wife?" I thought that was very observant and thoughtful.
So I got my coffee and sat on the tree-shaded patio and watched the sunrise. The patio has picnic tables and patio chairs and is surrounded by a low wall lined with flowerpots. It was a delightful place to sit and wake up with my coffee. The hotel is close to the highway but traffic is so light that that was not a problem.
Being in an isolated area I wasn't sure if my mobile phone would get a signal, but it did. No Wi-Fi, but I managed to survive for a day without Facebook, etc.; in fact I was glad to be away from all that for a time. I can't imagine why I would want to sit in my room staring at a computer screen when there were much more interesting things outside.
I'm looking forward to going back and exploring the area some more, and I will definitely stay at Lee's Ferry Lodge again.
