Beautiful historic building and reasonably priced for Brooklyn area. However, we wouldn’t stay here again. ||Michelle, the host, was very friendly, but not very available. She didn’t reply to phone or email messages in a timely way, During our 5 night stay we only saw her once when we checked in and once by accident when we checked out. Poor communication about important details like check in/check out times, location of kitchenette (up on top floor), how to access a paid breakfast, etc. We were never given the wifi password, and the tv didn’t work (antennae fell off wall first night we were there. Stairs and hallway are very creaky and loud.

This place was amazingly comfortable and clean. It has 3 floors with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The bedroom i stayed in was roomy with large windows, a spacious dresser, and walk in closet. It was quite hot outside while i stayed there, so the room's A/C was great to have. You have to share the bathrooms, but it wasn't a problem since I rarely saw the other guests. The shared kitchen was also nice. The location was perfect since it's close to attractions like Prospect Park and the Brooklyn botanical garden. Something to keep in mind is that there's only one set of keys for each bedroom, so if you're sharing a bedroom with someone and going out to separate places in the city, you'll need to coordinate with the person. Other than that, it's a great place for a great price.

This is a beautiful old 19th Century home, thoughtfully furnished and decorated to maintain its understated grandeur. If you believe in the impossible - that you can find a clean and spacious place to stay close to NYC on a tight budget, then look no further. It's perfect picture of beautifully aged hardwood floors, stained glass picture windows, palm plants in the shade, and antique dressers but it is not all old world - lot of thought has been put into modernizations that fit perfectly with the style of the house. The showers are luxurious - they look beautiful and deliver copious amounts of high pressure hot water. Its old school class is maintained impeccably. The rooms are spotless, the linen clean, and the beds comfortable. Some people might not be comfortable with the idea of a shared bathroom but it's actually really convenient. Every floor has its own bathroom and my floor only had two bedrooms, and I never saw the other guests on my floor, so it made little difference What I did notice however was that the bathroom was always wonderfully clean. I'm not sure about the breakfast part of the B&B because I didn't seek it out or ask about it, so I can't comment. One thing to be aware of - it's an old house and floors creak, so if you are a light sleeper you might get woken by other guests returning to their rooms. Also, cities are noisy; you're going to hear emergency vehicle sirens and sounds of traffic, as you would in any city home. I kind of like it so it didn't bother me at all - just something to bear in mind. It's very close to the Prospect Park subway on the B and Q lines, getting you into Manhattan in around 40 minutes. if you decide to stay here (and you should), I hope your time is as relaxing and as charming as mine was.

There are beautiful rooms in the cozy brownstone, mine overlooked the street. There are hardwood floors and large windows in each room. Ms Michelle is a gracious host. She is kind, on time, helpful, and knows her guests needs. There are two bathrooms and one kitchen. Everything was kept clean and stocked. The location in Brooklyn is very central and it’s easy to walk to shops, restaurants and transportation while still having a strong sense of neighborhood. I plan to stay here again. Another review from another guest Michelle K: I want to say that Ms Michelle is the best host ever at this B&B….she greeted me with a big smile and so much positive energy. The place itself was clean and so much history in her home….this is definitely a home away from home….if anyone give less than a 5 in a review….they didn’t visit this place….I came during Labor Day week….the area is so nice and beautiful, you can walk to any restaurant or any store to pick up food, snacks or a bottle of wine. Thank you Ms Michelle for your hospitality and I definitely will be back and stay there again…Keep Smiling! Can you add this post ton your review….Michelle K.

I stayed at this B&B at the end of March and upon arrival I was upgraded to the largest room in the house, having originally booked the Ebony room. The hostess Michelle was very friendly; as well as leaving a few bottles of complimentary water in the fridge, there was a "Getting Around New York" guide left in my room which proved handy in getting to know the place. ||||As a solo traveller, this beautiful house definitely felt like a home away from home with clean towels provided, and a kitchen stocked with pots, pans, cutlery etc. The heating system was very good and my room was always quite warm despite the cold temperatures and snow outside. The bed was comfortable, and I had a great nights sleep once I arrived home after exploring the city. Access to the property was super easy as you are given your own set of keys to the front door and your room, allowing you to enter and exit as and when you please. The bathroom on the middle floor is quite large in size, very modern, and features a lovely shower. During my stay, the upstairs bathroom was being renovated so I cannot comment on this.||||The closest Metro station is Prospect Park which is a few minutes walk away, and I found travel into Manhattan and other areas of Brooklyn quite easy. When it snowed, I took a short walk (approx 10mins) to Prospect Park and took some pictures etc which was beautiful although very cold.||||There are a number of nearby restaurants and cafes where you can grab some food - I had a delicious Chicken Pattie at the local Golden Krust Caribbean food shop on my way out one afternoon, and enjoyed a nice Italian for dinner another night. For music lovers like myself, there is a cool record store a few streets down, and a really nice bookshop with cool postcards on the other side of the road when you come out on to the main road (Flatbush Avenue.)||||You also aren't far from supermarkets if you wish to purchase herbal teas, snacks and fruit. There is a similar store to Whole Foods which is to the right when you exit on to Flatbush Avenue and walk towards the big traffic lights for a few minutes (bit pricey.) There is also a very large, affordable supermarket called Western Beef which is local - I went here to buy some groceries to cook, as well as purchase some Maple Syrup and snacks. Nearby you will also find some fast food spots if that tickles your fancy.||||Overall, this B&B proved to be a home away from home and I'd definitely stay here on my return to Brooklyn, New York.

I am a returning guest and never feel disappointed so I want to write a review for this place. The house is cozy and beautiful. My room is always clean and tidy when I check-in. The shared bathroom is clean and spacious. The kitchen is clean and there are always cold bottles of water in the fridge. And the hostess Michelle is my favorite person as always. She is so kind and friendly and if you need anything please talk directly to her. She will do her best to meet your needs. Forgot to take pictures, which was a shame 😩

I stayed there from 5 July to 11 July 2017 . It was a beautiful neighborhood and restored home. Very convenient to Flatbush Blvd with many diverse restaurants and little stores for food coffee . The subway was two blocked away with a straight route to Downtown New York.|My biggest complaint was my bed it was hard my friends bed was a pillow top and very comfortable the daughter offered to move my up stairs to a room with a very comfortable bed but I wanted to stay close to my friends. The rooms on the second floor were very spacious with a couch, dressers and a large closet. They should not call it a B&B they do not have any breakfast. There is a kitchen on 3rd floor with a coffee maker and coffee. Refrigerator with bottled water . The pantry had items in it we left all our food items that were there for the other guest to use. We had to ask for new towels after the second day . I am planning to return to New York next year and I will come back and recommend this place to everyone.

Beautiful, clean brownstone on a quiet, tree-lined street in the middle of Brooklyn. It is close (5-10 min walk) to the subway station, allowing you to get to Manhattan in minutes and walking distance (5-10 min) to Prospect Park. There are several restaurants/bars/breakfast spots close by. We will be back!
