I stayed at this B&B at the end of March and upon arrival I was upgraded to the largest room in the house, having originally booked the Ebony room. The hostess Michelle was very friendly; as well as leaving a few bottles of complimentary water in the fridge, there was a "Getting Around New York" guide left in my room which proved handy in getting to know the place. ||||As a solo traveller, this beautiful house definitely felt like a home away from home with clean towels provided, and a kitchen stocked with pots, pans, cutlery etc. The heating system was very good and my room was always quite warm despite the cold temperatures and snow outside. The bed was comfortable, and I had a great nights sleep once I arrived home after exploring the city. Access to the property was super easy as you are given your own set of keys to the front door and your room, allowing you to enter and exit as and when you please. The bathroom on the middle floor is quite large in size, very modern, and features a lovely shower. During my stay, the upstairs bathroom was being renovated so I cannot comment on this.||||The closest Metro station is Prospect Park which is a few minutes walk away, and I found travel into Manhattan and other areas of Brooklyn quite easy. When it snowed, I took a short walk (approx 10mins) to Prospect Park and took some pictures etc which was beautiful although very cold.||||There are a number of nearby restaurants and cafes where you can grab some food - I had a delicious Chicken Pattie at the local Golden Krust Caribbean food shop on my way out one afternoon, and enjoyed a nice Italian for dinner another night. For music lovers like myself, there is a cool record store a few streets down, and a really nice bookshop with cool postcards on the other side of the road when you come out on to the main road (Flatbush Avenue.)||||You also aren't far from supermarkets if you wish to purchase herbal teas, snacks and fruit. There is a similar store to Whole Foods which is to the right when you exit on to Flatbush Avenue and walk towards the big traffic lights for a few minutes (bit pricey.) There is also a very large, affordable supermarket called Western Beef which is local - I went here to buy some groceries to cook, as well as purchase some Maple Syrup and snacks. Nearby you will also find some fast food spots if that tickles your fancy.||||Overall, this B&B proved to be a home away from home and I'd definitely stay here on my return to Brooklyn, New York.
