We hired the Left Coast Quintet to perform at my Army retirement ceremony, and they absolutely exceeded every expectation. They arrived early, set up without any issues, and were ready to begin right on time—something that speaks volumes about their professionalism. Working with Dan was great - he's super friendly and great at reminding us of deadlines. Choosing our songlist was challenging - especially because the quintet sends over this giant spreadsheet with hundreds of songs that they are able to play.. but luckily they knew the songs to match our general vibe. For the welcome music and cocktail hour, we were looking for broadway/Disney music with special emphasis on musicals/movies that we love. We had specific song requests for the processional and recessional. The Left Coast Quintet handled everything perfectly - they nailed our welcome/cocktail music (and we got so many compliments from guests). We were too busy taking photos to really enjoy it, but I'm pretty sure our best photos were when the quintet played Defying Gravity. The quintet also seamlessly looped Concerning Hobbits during our longer than expected processional which I really appreciated. It's a bit awkward because we never actually talked to the quintet.. they just sort of appeared before our processional and left after our cocktail hour.. Regardless, they did an awesome job and I'm super happy we hired them. Thank you for making our wedding great.

Left Coast Quintet provided music and lighting for my wedding reception at Brick. The lighting added a perfect festive ambiance after sunset. The music helped establish a celebratory vibe as everyone came together to eat and enjoy each other's company. The communication to coordinate beforehand was clear and responsive. We hired Dan and team for our wedding in March of this year after seeing all the positive reviews on Yelp, Wedding Wire, etc. Dan was so easy to work with, committed to our event and genuine in making it perfect for us. He was very responsive both via email and phone, reassuring us he was there whenever we needed. Due to the coronavirus restrictions, our event had to be cancelled and as expected, Dan was caring and understanding about the cancellation. We are so sad we will not be able to hear his musicians but hope to reschedule and work with him again in the future. If you are looking for someone to make your event special, definitely consider Dan and team!! You will not be disappointed.

My words cannot express my appreciation for the LCQ. They performed at our friend Jean's memorial...ironically, most of the folks in attendance were musicians. The music was stellar, and the musicianship was perfect (perfection). Although memorials are intrinsically sad, the music made it glorious. We thank the LCQ. If you are considering the LCQ for your event (for events/weddings/memorials), please take my recommendation and hire these terrific musicians. They are incredible!

Having live music for our ceremony was not initially in the plans but my wife really wanted live music and once we talked to Dan at Left Coast Quintet we were sold! From the very beginning Dan was great to work with. He was very responsive, informative, and gave great suggestions based on what kind of ambiance we wanted on our day. Based on what we wanted and talking with Dan we decided to go with hiring a piano/violin duet for the ceremony and cocktail hour. We had very specific music we wanted played and after making our extensive list I looked at all the different, seemingly random, songs and wondered if they would be able to play all our requests. Left coast did not disappoint! They played exactly what we wanted fantastically, which included music from Coldplay to Up from Pixar and everything in between and sounded great! Dan and group are highly professional, supremely talented, and easy to work with. We hired LCQ to perform for the wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour of the reception. Their list of music was impressive and included both traditional songs and whimsical choices. For us Disney/jazz fans, the options allowed us to choose unique pieces to fit our personal style. It was beautiful to see our guests (including the children) recognize Rainbow Connection, Edelweiss, We Don't Talk About Bruno, etc. Our only regret we have is not hiring them to perform for the entire reception! We would unequivocally recommend them to anyone who is looking for live music for any event.

My husband and I got married a month ago and we used Dan and his group for our ceremony music. They did not disappoint! They played for about 30 mins before the ceremony while guests arrived and got seated. We decided on fun update music. Dan has a lot of great Disney and other movie theme songs. I asked for 3 specific songs for the procession and then one song for the exit and they played them all flawlessly! We hired the Left Coast Quintet to play for our wedding just before COVID shut everything down in March 2020. We originally booked them for 11/11/20. As I'm sure everyone can relate to, as the date got closer we became less hopeful about things changing and we knew we would need to postpone. We changed our date to July 2021 and then even changed our venue and throughout all of our changes, Dan was flexible, kind and assured us he would be available during our new date. As our date got closer, he offered feedback based on the little information I provided for what we wanted and on our big day the ceremony music was even more amazing than I ever imagined possible. We received numerous compliments from our guests about how great the music was! I also love this picture they snapped of us during our ceremony, it's incredibly special to see how it all looked from their point of view! All in all, I would highly recommend the Left Coast Quintet to anyone who is looking for an extra special touch for their wedding. I loved working with Dan and the crew. They showed up super early to make sure they had the exact location. Sound check was done before guests started arriving and best of all, they were totally self efficient which is key for wedding planners on the day of the wedding. Their music performance was impeccable and so well sort out. Totally took charge and connected with my bride on her music selection. Would highly recommend working with this amazing team over and over again.

This amazing group of musicians played both our wedding ceremony and our cocktail hour on the sand at the Bahia Hotel. From the very start they were a joy to work with. Dan was incredibly communicative during the whole process and couldn't have been more pleasant. It's been almost a month since our wedding and our guests are still mentioning how much they loved the music. My friends especially got a kick out of me walking out to the Police Academy theme. Our friends loved hearing music from Jurassic Park, Back to the Future etc. I couldn't possibly recommend this group more for your next event. The music is incredible and the variety of genres they can play is second to none.

Incredible! Dan was amazing in helping me gather a string trio with an opera singer that could play a variety of songs for my father's Memorial Service. I had a very specific playlist that, not only did they learn for the occasion, but they did a spectacular job in playing every piece with perfect timing. They were awesome! The music was great and I felt that they definitely elevated the whole wedding. They played all the classics and even made me my own custom arrangement to walk down the aisle to. Then Dan MCed our reception which was a great alternative to getting a DJ. I couldn't recommend them more and I think our wedding guests were really surprised by the whole thing

They played for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on August 31st and were absolutely incredible. The Left Coast Quintet has performed at both the 2020 and 2021 Mission Hills Garden Walk. They are so outstanding, very good musicianship, nice selection of music, they would be a tremendous asset to any event as they were for ours.

The music was perfect, they were on time, they were thoughtful and helpful, the cost was insanely affordable. What more could you want? The Left Coast Quintet is one of the most unique music groups in San Diego. I've heard them play at a house warming party before. A very 60's mod affair with a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme. They can adapt and arrange all sorts of music. Let's face it, who hears live music any more? Being able to hire a talented group of musicians to play a wide variety of music is fantastic! I recently had Dan Weiss and Left Coast Quintet play for a non-profit gala at the San Diego Air and Space Museum on Saturday, June 18th. They were wonderful and I highly recommend them! They played during cocktail hour and everyone commented on the beautiful music and it really set a lovely tone for the evening.
