This spot serves great coffee with a super chill vibe. The couches are a fantastic touch, making it a cozy place to relax. Their Vietnamese coffee? Absolutely top-notch. That said, the setup for milk and sugar could use a little tweaking. When the shop gets busy, the corner station creates a bit of a bottleneck. It’s a little awkward standing around with a hot, open coffee while waiting for others to finish prepping their drinks. Still, the quality of the coffee and the overall atmosphere more than make up for it. Highly recommend stopping by!

Google
Good place to get coffee to go, but be ready to wait if you’re coming during popular times. The latte and chai tasted great but I was peeved that they didn’t make orders in sequence, so people who came in way after me were getting their drinks first.

Google
After having some terrible coffe at a local place we decide to give this dedicate coffe shop a try and boy we were not disapointed very helpful friendly staff that explain thenoption to us old timers and wow was the coffe good. The hazlenut vinilla and just plain hazalnut latte were so good. One of the best places in Mountak to get a good cuo of coffe. Price is up there but man the coffee is so good.

Google
Delicious coffee and friendly staff working hard. Many thanks. Would be nice to have a little drinking area.

Google
Pretty decent coffee, probably the best in the area. Hip vibe.

Google
Great little Cafe, just off the main strip and just north of the beach. Got a coffee and croissant which were both fire. Atmosphere is very chill and service was fast. Definitely recommend for a quick morning bite.

Google
Stopped in Saturday for a quick cup of coffee- holiday weekend so it was nuts but the service was great! I was greeted with a big smile by the beautiful girl with the long dark hair, she was so patient and positive despite the large crowd. the gentleman who made my drink was awesome- so upbeat, made it feel like a true old-school coffee shop. Excellent service and excellent staff!

Google
Around a corner- hard to find but soooo worth it! Great coffee and the donuts best I have ever had! Jelly and black and white! Texture and flavor was original! I live in Chicago and have had my tries of donuts! My new fav for when I come out next time!

Yelp
Left hand coffee was the most highly ranked coffee shop in Montauk so I wanted to give it a try. I came on a rainy day and was pleasant to find a small shared parking lot. The entrance is also shared - you have to enter the building before going through their actual doors. Upon walking in, I see that seating is very limited about 4-5 already all occupied. Another thing that caught me by surprise is how much other products they sell on the shelf and in the fridge. Once I walked passed those, I saw their actual products - coffee bags and pastries behind the glass. The employees did not greet me or give any recommendations. There were several of them behind the counter just standing in place. I took a minute to read the menu behind the cash register. It wasn't too big but had options. I ordered a vanilla latté. It was strong and good, not sweet at all. Definitely a good coffee shop, would come back to try other drinks and baked goods. As for the aura, the place is a bit dim and was crowded with products on shelves on one side and people sitting on the few chairs available on the other side. Wished it was a bit more welcoming!

Yelp
I was excited to try this place, since I was in town for a couple of days and had heard it was good. I came with my friend to check it out and it was quite crowded. The line moved quickly, but I felt very rushed when I got to ordering. The ambiance of the space is very nice with some places to sit and cute (but overpriced) merchandise. It's very instagrammable. I deducted some stars because the matcha latte was just not good. It tasted mostly like milk and hardly had any matcha flavor coming through. I might try something else if I come again.

Yelp
Double espressos were delicious and smooth. Clean cafe and friendly service. An interesting menu. They have their act together for sure.

Yelp
I ordered a Vanilla latte with pistachio milk from here while visiting. It was the perfect ratio of sweetness for me, not too sweet and creamy with the pistachio milk. They had some delish looking pastries including a couple of gluten free ones but I had just had lunch. They also have matchas and other coffee drinks that looked good. My coffee came out pretty quick less than 5 minutes so I appreciate that. I would definitely come back when in Montauk.

Yelp
Owner replied and asked how can a latte taste sour? You're a coffee shop - don't you know coffee can taste sour if it's under extracted? Coffee is acidic.... Anyways, I was trying to give an honest review. No need to be defensive and as a business owner, I hope that you take a customer's criticism and work on improving your business.

Yelp
As a matcha enthusiast who has enjoyed lattes both in NYC and Japan, I was excited to try the matcha latte here. Unfortunately, it turned out to be quite disappointing and might be the worst I've ever had. The flavor was off, it didn't taste like matcha and had a strange fishy taste that I had never encountered in a matcha before. Despite trying to salvage it with a ton of honey and simple syrup the drink just ended up overwhelmingly sweet, to the point where I couldn't finish it. My friend also ordered an iced latte, which sadly fell short as well - it was very watered down and lacked the aromatic richness I expect from a good coffee. The staff were friendly which I appreciated. However, given the quality of the drinks, I'm disappointed and don't see myself returning.

Yelp
Pretty solid coffee beans and milk options, and cute vibes/interior. Located right by the beach which is nice. Got the macadamia milk flat white which was delicious, and the macadamia milk dirty chai, which was OK. Chai tasted a bit sweet/artificial, so I would just stick with the basics.
google avatar

Yelp
No notes! Delicious coffee and contemplated buying the beans. Cool merch inside as well.

Yelp
Service was nice but place was clearly unmanaged and very overstaffed. There were three girls up front who were all so friendly and helpful. After that it was all downhill Went twice and each time the espresso tasted completely different but equally as terrible. Second time around I watched multiple people that ordered after me get their drinks first. Watched a female employee snap at two different employees and it ended up holding up my drink even longer. Absolute disaster in there and the ambiance is entirely performative. Would do anything but recommend this place

Matt G.

Yelp
Went for coffee and got a few donuts. Without exaggerating it was the best chocolate donut I have ever had. Seriously if you don't do anything else why you're in town go get the donuts. If you see the long line don't worry the staff handles it seamlessly.
google avatar

Yelp
We got some iced coffee and a muffin. Everything was yummy. very cute and cozy spot to get really good coffee.

Kylie M.

Yelp
My boyfriend & I went, I got an iced matcha latte with almond milk & he got a black cold brew. The matcha is really good, I added a bit of honey but regretted it after because it was perfect the way it was! He loves the cold brew. No complaints here, would deff come again :)

Yelp
Went to a local diner and had a regular coffee, which was disgusting on first sip so I threw it out and walked over to this cute little cafe. Amazing looking donuts BTW but skipped it to not put myself into a sugar coma. Might be tempted to share one of those though... enough chit chat... Ordered an almond milk flat white and it was done well. Nice and balanced, smooth and creamy. The almond milk didn't have sugar which I appreciate and gave the drink more of that strong coffee taste. Only two small kits. Temperature of the flat white was fine but prefer it a bit hotter. Also flat white was served with no lid which is how you do it but I think you probably then need to embark in some attempt of latte art for presentment. Overall the best espresso/ coffee I have had to date in Montauk and would go back. Also might get a donut!

Yelp
I thought the coffee was pretty good - we got a Vietnamese coffee. It was sweet, creamy and tasty. The vibes inside were rustic and chill. They should add more indoor seating but it doesn't really matter because the beach is so close by. Additionally, It was overpriced for two shots of espresso ($7.60 for a small).

Keira R.

Yelp
too expensive and ice latte tasted like milk. I don't recommend for the price. But it was nice inside and the service was good, not worth it tho.
google avatar

Izabela J.

Yelp
Amazing coffee! Great service. A little pricey but worth it. They do not any a seating area.
google avatar

Jake M.

Yelp
I got the Nutella latte after a 4 1/2 hour drive to Montauk and it was definitely worth the stop! The coffee is delicious, the guy was nice and the place inside was open and nice.
google avatar

Olivia K.

Yelp
Nothing above average. Just a coffee shop. I definitely wouldn't run back but if i was in a pinch I wouldn't mind. Thought I would add a photo for giggles. I didn't even think to add about the service because everyone's experience is different. But the customer service definitely goes with the owner's attitude. I have no desires to go back now. Customer service is key!
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Excellent - dare I say, "Best" - coffee in Montauk. They have a fantastic selection of coffees and everything is rich and full of flavor. I was particularly excited to see an espresso freddo on the menu (a rarity outside of Europe).
google avatar

Catherine R.

Yelp
I ordered two triple iced oat lattes and a growler of cold brew -- my order totaled almost $50. As I was paying, no lie, the following occurred. The barista turned to me from the espresso machine with a face full of chagrin. Her: We can only do double pulls on the espresso, so I can't do a triple. Me: You _can't_ do a triple? Pleasant worker who was ringing me up: Well, she ordered two, so you can do three pulls and you'll have two triples. Her: But..... IT'S COMPLICATED. Young lady, divorce is complicated. Fighting global temperature rise is complicated. Working within the national media landscape is complicated. You know what's sure as s--t NOT complicated? Making a $10 triple iced latte in 2023. The coffee was good. I'll never go back.

Yelp
My friends and I came here to grab coffee before taking a walk on the beach on a chilly November Sunday morning. They had lots of different options to choose from. I got a latte with oat milk and it was very well made. Given the delicious coffee as well as this shop's close proximity to the beach, I'd say this the place to go for coffee when out in Montauk.
google avatar

Marion T.

Yelp
I got the Iced Dirty Chai and some Compartes chocolates Caramel Crunch and Chocolate Chip Cookies. So good!! Staff was friendly!
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
My wife loves matcha so we went searching for some when we were in montauk. This place has that hipster surfer vibe which is typical for Montauk. I mean one customer in there was barefoot. I couldn't believe it. I will say the matcha was very good so they passed that test. In typical montauk fashion it was overpriced. They had a type of flavored water in there for $12 a bottle. I almost fell over when my wife bought it. As for the service it wasn't the most pleasant either. $20 for a matcha and bottled water... crazy... but that's the going rate in this overpriced coffee/tea culture especially in Montauk.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice coffee shop with many choices. People in line had mixed mask behaviors. People just cover your mouth and nose, please. We took our order of six to go. My iced mocha was dessert to start my day. I typically am a plain Jane coffee with milk girl, so it was fun to be decadent. They also enjoyed their cold brew. Next time I will try Vietnamese. No wonder the line is long here!

Lauren A.

Yelp
This is the best coffee shop on the east end. There's a reason the line is out the door every summer. High quality coffee, huge assortment of gourmet snacks & pastries and not to mention, Nutella lattes...need I say more?
google avatar

Jaimee A.

Yelp
This coffee shop was the high point of our trip to Montauk! The service was very good, one of the staff members gave us a free taste of their cold brew - it was outrageous, so good! We had the regular coffee and the iced Vietnamese coffee, both were delicious. They have all types of milk and sweetener. The lines can get long but they move very quickly.

Yelp
I fully admit my coffee snobbery, and I was happy with Left Hand. Yeah it's expensive, if that's your gripe, there's a Dunkin for you somewhere nearby. Seriously though, there's that place over by the traffic circle, it's slightly cheaper, and the coffee is slightly less good. You get what you pay for? Anyway, a bunch of the negative reviews talk about the matcha. I don't do matcha, so I can't comment on it. We had no issues with the service, or with our drinks. What sticks out most for me from Left Hand was their orange marmalade (?) croissant, that thing was extra delish, I still remember it like, a year out.

Shayla C.

Yelp
Only thing worse than the coffee is the creep of an owner. His employees have about as good of a personality as him. Such a shame that a great location in a great town is run by such losers. If your review is anything less than 5 stars they will mock you in response instead of acknowledging that there is room for improvement. They don't even allow the option to respond back to them. Last time I left a review I was told I need to be medicated lol this man has no experience operating a business and clearly has had everything handed to him. Hope Daddy's money is treating you well Mr. Left Hand!
google avatar

Melissa O.

Yelp
Super cute coffee spot. I am not a coffee drinker but my friend is. She LOVED her coffee, said it was the best she had in Montauk. My matcha tea was delicious. There is very little seating (probably due to COVID) but the beach is a 2 minute walk away. The shop follows COVID guidelines so masks are a must. I have to say that this place is a must when in Montauk.
google avatar

Adrienne B.

Yelp
Nice ambiance. Great iced latte* and open off-season. And you can pay via Apple Pay if you dont have your wallet. After getting my coffee, my son and I attempted window shopping in the area, but the rain annoyed us so we went back, grabbed two more iced lattes and went "home" to our hotel. *Coffee is smooth and refined with a touch of nuttiness. Fantastic flavor. Clean - clean machines. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
Our friends know I need a constant stream of coffee every few hours. They took me to 7 Eleven when I first checked into the hotel (They were driving) Once I had the lay of the land, I found in my travels Left Hand Coffee. Forget Starbuck$$, this is a "Coffee House". Look at the picture I posted, I'm going to educate you why Starbucks is the fast food equivalent to coffee. Yes, both places have fancy Espresso machines. That's not the issue. What $tarbuxs does is what I call a "Dump & Pour". They'll heat up the milk fast and dump it all in a cup. Here ya go! No no no! First, my server was the sweetest gal. She could see I was excited about the store. I asked for a "Flat White". Yeah, try getting that in stupid Starbucks. They always make a latte. What was crafted was a perfect Flat White. No dump. The milk was gently heated and poured into my cup. They created a palm tree design! I also noticed a few organic items, I bought a few bars to bring to work. I had one today for breakfast, yummy! They sell many different roasted beans, I saw a pound of $70 Jamaican beans? Yeah.. pass. There are other beans that are more reasonably priced. People are talking about a Nutella latte. I was happy getting a properly poured cup of coffee. Right Hand, meet the left hand. Its brewing some outrageous Left Hand Coffee.

Yelp
Service may be hit or miss but I was there 2 days in a row and the employees were really nice. I got a macadamia milk iced latte 2x and I dream about it. It's soooo good. I even asked for a small in large cup w/ extra ice and they did it for me. It is very pricey. And non-dairy milk costs more but take your pick. Soy, oat, almond, macadamia...So it's good for people w/ dietary stuff. Paper straws - good for ocean - not so great if you don't drink your iced drinks quickly. So consider bringing your own reusable straw or drinking w/o a lid.
google avatar

Nat P.

Yelp
Really cute small coffee cafe! For the three days I was in MTK, this was my go to spot to pick up iced espresso with half n half before I head out to John's Pancake House for breakfast. Eco-green friendly - first time using paper straw and I'm not a fan. lol
google avatar

Alison R.

Yelp
The first time I had Left Hand coffee was actually about a year ago. I was very impressed then and am happy to say that a year later, same location, Left Hand continues to produce delicious coffee. Each time I've always gotten a simple drip coffee. I don't remember the name the first time I ordered here, but this time I ordered Camp Hero. It was a delicious dark blend. I personally love dark roasts so this really hit the spot. For a 16 oz you're looking at $3 which I think was reasonable for this delicious cup of coffee. I highly recommend stopping at this establishment before heading to the beach or walking around town. I love Montauk!
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop. The Nutella latte they offer was interesting because they infuse the Nutella, instead of just layering it on like syrup. Expect Hampton type prices. A good amount of inside seating. Definitely that 'hip/trendy' coffee shop vibe. If I ever end up in the area again, I'd go back!
google avatar

Joanne D.

Yelp
Gem!! A pure gem!!! Heaven on earth!! Best coffee I have had since I was in Jamaica If you are used to diner coffee crap or Dunkin crap then you might think it's too strong If you like Starbucks it's as strong but not bitter Had a red eye and it was perfect Vietnamese was so good too The location is so cute too

K A.

Yelp
We visited Left Hand Coffee for our morning brew and pastries. The cold brew was solid (if not particularly unique), and the pastries were decent as well. The shop is cutely decorated, and has a couple of seats if you're looking to enjoy your drinks in house. Overall, a solid coffee option, and possibly the best we tried in the area.
google avatar

Carol L.

Yelp
Solid iced latte! We stopped by during our stroll around cute little Montauk, and the decor and friendliness of the baristas was super enticing. It's eclectic, it's cool, and it's coffee a pretty penny but delicious - I'd definitely come back to Left Hand to study and grab a coffee if I came back!

Hannah K.

Yelp
Strawberry matcha was out of this world! Bit pricey, but worth it. Will absolutely be back soon. They also have a variety of non dairy milks which I very much appreciated!
google avatar

Monica G.

Yelp
Best coffee in the Hamptons! We come here every time we go to Montauk. They have matcha, cold brew, all types of milks, etc. they also have really cute merchandise! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
great coffee and pastries. staff was friendly and quick! long lines for a reason, worth the wait. the lines moved fast anyway. good selection of snacks and to go sandwiches and wraps. so cute in there. pricey, but coffee is expensive these days.
google avatar

sofia d.

Yelp
Best coffee I've had so far! Been looking for a good coffee place for a long time and I finally found the best one. Plus there was a pup walking around the shop and it was adorable and lovable. Left hand has two of my favorite things combined, dogs and coffee!

Robert S.

Yelp
Coffee was great. Pastries including croissants were just ok. Service was good but with varying demeanors ranging from pleasant to detached hipster to hungover.
google avatar

Eileen G.

Yelp
Went in the off season, on a weekday. The espresso was delicious and they have non dairy milk which is a plus for me! Limited indoor and outdoor seating. I got a Nutella latte with macadamia nut milk, and it was super yummy! Service was quick and friendly! Street Parking in the front and near the beach! Very happy they are open during these times!
google avatar

Nikki V.

Yelp
Good coffee and good people. Staff was super on top of customers to wear their masks properly to ensure everyone else's safety in the cafe, nicely asking customers to wear a proper and correct mask while waiting online. Service is as fast as it can be given the weekend crowds this place attracts. Well worth the wait if there is one though! Their cold brew is the best I've had especially in Montauk and they even have 32 oz growlers to take some home with you on your way out of town. Tons of non dairy milk options.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Cool, laid back, very hip. Remarkably open on New Years Eve (I believe it closed on New Year's Day until April) I can imagine this place is jumping during the summer, but on a fine, cold winters day it was nice and peaceful - notably good hot chocolate. Liked it.
google avatar

Leah H.

Yelp
Great coffee, and an adorable store. Very long line in the morning, but worth it. The iced latte was amazing, and they have a ton of non dairy milk options. Great option for coffee.
google avatar

Gianna F.

Yelp
I came here for coffee and although we had to wait on a line it was very good, a little over priced for a small coffee though.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Very solid coffee option in Montauk. Good service and even the drip coffee is tasty. Has its own parking lot. Will definitely return.
