Enjoyed the rolled ice cream. Fascinating, how they put several scoops on a freeze plate, smoosh it around, and scrape it into a thin sheet. This process gets repeated several times as they work to get it to the desired thinness. Eventually, they scrape it , and as it gets scraped, it turns into a little ribbon and eventually they put about four ribbons in the cup. From there, they top it with the toppings and away you ago. It's probably a good five minute or so process, to build your ice cream. Clearly, it takes some skill to do so. I had the Taro (#14) , which had some whip cream and chocolate chips, and cookies. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The interesting thing is , this is different than regular ice cream. It's not overly sweet. So don't be expecting a lot of sugar or sweetness to it because you will not get that. I actually saw several young people have a few bites of their ice cream while I was waiting for them to make my groups, and then throw it in the garbage. I honestly think , it wasn't sweet enough for them.
My daughter had the Thai rolled , which she enjoyed. I really didn't see what toppings she had, but the whole process is fascinating. Place was mobbed, but that's to be expected, it was celebration of the lunar new year. Which made Chinatown extremely busy and yet, it wasn't even parade day. There was a fair amount of waiting, but it was managed in a somewhat orderly fashion. Lots of choices. I definitely would go back, and do recommend it.
