After our fishing trip, we hit up this restaurant bar with a late-night menu. Ice-cold beers, solid service, and wings that really hit the spot. The place was clean, had plenty of seating and service was good. A few locals were there having a beer which adds to the charm.

We stopped by Legends to try some local oyster and watch Concacaf Gold Cup, we had a great time! Loved their cocktails, fried calamari was crispy and oysters were absolutely delicious. Great spot to watch sports.

Meet up with two friends! Immediately ordered a Banana Old Fashion -- really good ! We all enjoyed our food ! Presentation was great too ! I had the clams w rigatoni which was in the specials menu. When it arrived I wasn't sure as I pictured a red sauce with clams in the shell on top of the pasta. It was chopped clams in a white creamy sauce ! It was absolutely delicious 😋! I cleaned the plate !

So excited for the new iteration - recently dined at the sushi counter with some friends and it was amazing. Such a welcome addition to the North Fork. Also love how they pay special attention to seafood only serving what's local and sustainable in really inventive ways - ask Chef about their sustainability practices, it's awesome. Great wine list to match too!

First time here and so glad we came. Food and service was phenomenal! We had the wonton special for an app that was so delicious. I had seafood stew which was packed with flavor. All the various fish and shellfish were cooked to perfection. You could bottle the broth! Wife had the short ribs which were amazing so tender and delicious. The drinks were made perfectly and well balanced. The fresh made rolls were piping hot and so good! We will be back.

Very nice diversified menu containing steaks, seafood, vegetarian specials, chowders and some excellent starters. Large selection of draft beer and and ample wine list. The service is first rate, friendly and efficient. Nice selection of deserts and coffee. Give Legends a try.

After being under new management the quality of food has severely gone down. The fish and chips was more like cod with a paste around it and fast food like fries. My cousin got a goat cheese salad and it was served without the goat cheese…..don’t know what’s going on in that kitchen

I haven't been back to Legends since before their renovations. Back then when they were changing owners, the food and service really wasn't as good as it used to be. Now that they are under new management this restaurant is awesome! I was pleasantly surprised to see they have a sushi on their menu, as well as a great sushi bar and chef! The service is excellent, and the entire place has a whole different vibe, which is more inviting, energetic and overall so much better than what is used to be. I am so happy with the changes, and highly recommend checking this place out. If you are like me, and haven't been back since the changes, you need to go. We are so happy to have our New Suffolk restaurant back, better than ever!

Our server was funny, efficient and helpful. We were able to sit in the area without the bar since we were a group of six and a baby! This section was perfect for us. Everyone enjoyed their food. My daughter would have liked less sand and more garlic in her steamers. We shared baked clams and wings. My hamburger was cooked perfectly! What a great restaurant and we look forward to going back!

The food was fresh, the drinks were good, as well as the service. With a fairly big menu, there are plenty of options for all dietary needs. One side of the restaurant is a regular dining room while the other half is a louder bar/tv/barstools section which is where the party is at! So be sure to reserve that side if you want that vibe

Bar was on one side and the restaurant on the other. You can see the water from where we are sitting. Good drinks! The clams and oysters on the half shell were delicious. I enjoyed the Maine lobster roll which they were adding to the menu. My wife had the salmon BLT which was tasty.

We've been to Legends twice now, once with the old ownership and once with the new. Both times were absolutely wonderful! We had many of the same items the second time as we did the first, but the addition of the sushi elevated our experience so much more the second time! The sushi is quite expensive but they use quality ingredients and have a unique selection of rolls, so we felt it was worth it. Excellent calamari which we've had both times. We prefer the dining room but there is also seating in the bar area in the other half of the restaurant. Both times we've had friendly and attentive servers, and the greeters at the door made us feel welcome. We really enjoy Legends, which is off the beaten path of the North Fork and truly is a gem!

Always a good time ! Great food and great service - love the bartenders!!! Unbelievable sushi - - always fresh and delicious.

I would like to give this a 4.5 but yelp doesn't allow it. 5.0 would be off the table because 5.0 is for michelin stars in this category. 4.0 is excellent quality though. Food service ambiance is spectacular. What a wonderful little town it's in. Wine list needs updating but it's nice for a very limited selection. More to come.

Food was decent. Wait staff failed to inform the table of the included 20% tip for large parties (I presume this is 8+ after my recent experience). Beware. It's common courtesy to inform your customers what they are being charged and when.

I'm not a big seafood guy and places that specialize in seafood don't (usually) do well in other areas, especially burgers. But today I was totally hoodwinked, bamboozled, lead astray, run amuck, and flat out deceived in the best way possible. I ordered the legends burger, usually I go to these style of restaurants for the experience but this time the food was one to remember. The burger was huge and the juicier than a mug and blended well with the veggies. We love when places go the extra mile for a good fry and this place did just that. Double fried fries just crumble in your mouth like me in front of a woman. The experience was nice with a beautiful view and some angry Jets fans raving about the few points their team will get this season. Call me fat call me American call me one dimensional but nothing beats a good upscale burger.

I've been coming here prior to the new owners and I'm happy to say that everything is still great as always! Raini and Eileen were behind the bar and were absolutely fantastic and super attentive to us the entire time as we sat at a high top table and not directly at the bar. We love sitting in the bar area tables as you get a great view of outside and the restaurant! We had some sushi and it was, hands down one of the BEST rolls we've ever had!! Hats off to Chef Mike!! We also had the chicken sandwich which was great as well! The sushi is a great addition to an already great menu! We were in for lunch, otherwise we would have had apps and a larger entree, but I cannot wait to go back as always and I'm happy to see everything is even better than before! They also have a great selection of craft beer, which is a bonus as my boyfriend and I are huge craft beer lovers!!

If I could give this place a minus I would .. baked clams were sooo dry & the med rare burger was med well with dry blue cheese on it not melted .. the seared tuna rare was lightly brown but med cooked i sent it back & it came out worse I took one bite of it and got soooo sick I had the worst food poisoning ever I was throwing up with diarrhea 1/2 hour later I couldn't even leave the place !! Later my daughter also had stomach pains from the small bite she took ! Service was slow as heck but the board of health needs to go check them out .. I will never go back ..

I do not like to get negative reviews - but as someone who has come here frequently for 25 years, I have to say such a shame what has happened. Previously our favorite go to, it has declined so rapidly under new ownership and is no longer worth the money. The food is decent to poor - in 25 years never sent anything back now the few times we have tried to go with a positive attitude, things are cold and some not even edible. Portion sizes have changed dramatically. Sadly go elsewhere. You can even tell the staff is not happy - no one smiles anymore. Weird vibe. Big no for us - far better options.

We went on Saturday for lunch I know the restaurant was sold to new owners about a year ago because we went about the time the new owners took over.We were told the staff and the menu would stay same.Well I don't know about the staff but the menu has changed and in my opinion not for the better.To be brief they took staples that were on the menu that were delicious and put a whole page of sushi plus three pages of drinks and wine.I know I'm going to catch some grief but if I want sushi I go to a sushi restaurant.The prices are way off the charts and the quality doesn't reflect their prices.Im sorry I've been going here for over ten years and they just lost two loyal customers.

The 2 stars are for staff they were very good There is a previous review here that said how happy they were that after it changed hands. The menu stayed the same. We also were very happy to find that same experience until now. Apparently the chef is now gone and the menu is totally different. The Pork schnitzel is gone The Salmon sandwich is gone as is the Panko chicken. I found myself ordering sides one being parmesan mashed potatoes that came out ice cold and just had some cheese sprinkled on them We have loved this place for many years and are pretty heartbroken what a different experience it was today then in the past . We don't understand why after saying they would leave the restaurant the same as it always was , they ended up changing so much of it . We do wish them luck and We can only hope they make changes back to the original

Decent spot in an area without too many options. Food is quality and reliable. Many focused on seafood but a fairly wide menu. I had the shrimp pad Thai, it was excellent. Also good cocktails. Service is attentive. It gets booked up in summer so book in advance. It's higher end / more expensive than some, but reflects the food and service. Place is one block from the water.

An unassuming gem by the Peconic. Reservations required. There's a dining area and very ample bar. We were seated right away upon our arrival. " Julia" our server very personable friendly young lady( she was a delight). Their cocktail menu has specialty drinks( legend tea, cucumber cosmos,etc) as well as a fully equipped bar We had " mikes calamari " ( tender, not overly battered) " oysters Miguel " , tomato salad( heirlooms, mint, sprinkle of feta) refreshingly delicious. There's several vegetarian options. The cauliflower steak was Devine.( really enjoyed the spices) Cacciucco loaded with seafood is a must.. you'll need some bread to savor that sauce! Barely had any room for dessert, we ordered the pistachio and the luscious brownie. All in all a great meal!

Visited Legends on a Saturday night with a local friend for dinner. After we sat down we had to wait a while for someone to take our drink order. Appetizers and entrees were great for upscale bar food. Cocktails were just okay. Overall fine experience.

If you're a local you are definitely familiar with Legends, if you're visiting the North Fork you may of heard of it. Great spot to get pub fare as well as entrees. It's not inexpensive but not overly expensive compared to other restaurants on the east end. Legends is off the beatin path & has a very nice view, mostly from the north side of the bar facing south. It's clean, the staff is friendly & my sandwich was the best fish sandwich I've had this side of New Orleans.

Hadn't had dinner at Legends for quite a while but last night's outing to enjoy some food, drinks & musician/performer Julia King was just about as good as it gets! Nice happy hour til 6:00 with some specialty cocktails (high recommend for the Cucumber Cosmo!), beer & wine served by our AMAZING bartender/server - everyone calls him "G". Super fresh Peconic Gold oysters & clams from Braun's were the perfect beginning & we all had seared tuna for dinner with mashed potatoes, broccolini & sweet potato fries. The tuna was delicious & cooked perfectly. "G" made sure everything was perfect. We left nothing on our plates! Can't wait to return! Sushi Wed-Sun too!

Came all the way from Huntington for Restaurant Week. Legends is beautifully situated near the water. Very peaceful and serene, we watched bunnies running around the yard across the street. Our server Francesco, was very accommodating and personable. My friend and I both ordered the scallop bisque, which was so delicious, I wish I could eat the entire pot. Dinner wasn't as good as we had hoped for. My fluke was small in portion and the rice was dry and clumpy. My friends veal Paillard had 1 tender piece out of 3 and her angel hair pasta had zero flavor. Dessert was supposed be the pistachio cake but they didn't have anymore, so I ordered the frute de Bosco and she had the chocolate dream. Both were delicious. All in all we had a nice meal.

We came here on Christmas Eve and are finally getting around to writing the review because our experience keeps bugging us. Legends has been our go-to on the North Fork for the past 10 years. We have been there a number of times since the new owners took over and we haven't been impressed, yet we keep trying in the hopes it will improve. Unfortunately, our Christmas Eve visit will likely be our last. Where to start... a member of our party is vegan, there are a number of items on the menu that are indicated as vegan, that are not. We pointed this out and the response was that they were aware and they (the kitchen?) have been trying to get them (the owners?) to fix the menu. This is a biggie for those that rely on this information for allergy purposes. They had a special prix fixe menu along with the regular menu and a member of our party asked if they could get one of the entrees on the prix fixe without getting the app and dessert, as he was not interested in any of the appetizer options. The response was, being it was Christmas Eve and so busy, they could not accommodate this. With that, we looked around at all the empty tables, we were the only ones in the dining room. The food...we started with Oysters Miguel (a variation of Rockefeller) and a huge stuffed mushroom. Both were barely warm (leaning more towards cool in the middle). Entrees arrived, 3 out of the 4 of them anyway, 1 was enjoyed the other 2 were just okay. The waitress mentioned that the 4th entree would be right out. 20 minutes later, when everyone else had pretty much finished eating, the 4th entree appeared. The waitress said she would ask about this getting comped, but that did not happen. Overall, the waitress was non-attentive, my daughter asked for water refills multiple times getting nothing. The bill was over $400 for a mediocre dinner (and experience) at best. Oh, and did I mention $8 for bread and butter? Unfortunately, we will not be returning anytime soon and we now have to find a new go-to place on the North Fork. I really hope the new owners take the many 1 star reviews into consideration moving forward. Disappointing.

We were visiting here for the weekend and found Legends on Yelp. They were able to accommodate us for a last-minute reservation which was perfect. The menu but delicious and had a little bit of everything that would accommodate everyone's taste it seemed like. The service the entire night was fantastic from hostess, waitress, and bussers. Apps: Stuffed clams (one of the best we have had) and Caesar salad (they split it for us without even having to request it to be) which was also very good / fresh. Entree: my skirt steak with shrimp fried rice and asparagus was amazing like I'm still thinking about it. The marinade and everything was to dieeee for. I usually have left overs and I ate 90% of this lol. My fiancé also loved his and ate everything! Dessert: we were both in the mood for sweet for we shared the brownie and our server brought out extra ice cream complementary knowing we wanted sweet lol, and also had after dinner drinks. It was an excellent dinner and we really enjoyed our selves. Would highly suggest it if ever in the area!

We loved to come to legends until they changed hands - the staff is still quite pleasant, we love Rainie and Eileen at the bar The food is so hit and miss that you never know what you're going to get. Very disappointing.

The prime rib was succulentand seasoned to perfection. The staff accommodated our part of 12 with ease. Recommend this venue.

Great meeting place for friends to have a few libations, lunch or dinner. Sat as a four on a weekday at bar, the locals took their usual spots and we fit right in. The bartenders were quick to serve and make recommendations for lunch specials. Everything was hot and plentiful. Definitely will be back! Enjoy!

Really good restaurant in a beautiful, but remote, location. The town is great, just a cute beach town. Legends isn't right on the water, but you get the water view from the front windows. The food is great as well, especially the flounder sandwich that I ordered. Price was good as well since we ordered off the bar menu. The restaurant has a very laid-back, remote-beach vibe, and that does include the service. Our server was very nice, but things take longer than expected for a NY restaurant even if they aren't very busy: preparing the food, waiting for water to be filled, getting the check, etc.

Legends is just not the same local restaurant. Food was good. Waitress Kathy was very nice. They had a coupon so we tried it again. They choose the dish that they give you 1/2 price on and not the most expensive one. It's sad when you have to pay extra for a piece of bread. Not included with your salad or entree. We will never come again and probably the old regulars will never come either. The new owners changed the old culture of the restaurant which shows many empty seats. No surprise

Dear Legends, I am writing you from the pit in my stomach that used to be satiated by your food. We knew the hands had changed, but had been anticipating the new menu, with that I must confess; what a shame. I have never ate appetizers that lacked any shred of flavor that disappointed me so tremendously that I couldn't even stomach an entree. Where's Diane's sauce?? I love when I see bao buns on the menu, but what in the wet meatloaf smothered in huntz ketchup was that? Biting off more than you can chew is an understatement, I bit off more than I wanted to chew to be honest. To be fair the sushi did look appetizing, but $19 for a California roll I might as well just go to California. Anyways, RIP to another local restaurant.

Terrible food. It has gone down hill since the new owners have taken over. Smaller portions and higher prices.

The food choices were amazing.... the service was top notch as we were waited on by Emily. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming too. We will definitely be back!!!

Worst sushi I ever had - and for 3 people $250 not worth it at all - don't mind spending money on good sushi but this was not worth half. The tuna tare tare was basically tuna with bad hot sauce on it - the mochi also over priced and was mushy. Not going back -

What a gem off the beaten path in lovely New Suffolk. Ate here twice last week with family at the bar. Food, drinks & service were perfect. Looking forward to going again!

Nice spot during the summer right next to the water. Food was good, typical surf and turf type place, nice drinks as well.

I'm sorry I didn't take photographs but I was busy doing some work on my computer when I came in for lunch/dinner. I am not always comfortable dining alone but this experience was exceptional in every way. I was made very comfortable dining alone. I was offered a perfect table and the service was attentive and professional. The courses were on point. A lovely simple salad followed by Norwegian Salmon with forbidden rice and curry drizzle. Everything was prepared perfectly. The service was exceptional. The meal was great. I highly recommend this experience whether you are dining alone or with a party.

Legends boasts the most horrifically rude and dour Manager/ hostess I have ever come across in any restaurant ever, and I mean ever! She seated my party, which included my 92 year old father, at a high top table at the bar. Difficult for him to climb into, but we didn't have a reservation, so we happily accepted the table. Ordered drinks, a few minutes later she storms over to inform us she made a mistake, in fact the table was reserved for 7 PM, and although it was barely 6:30, she demanded the three of us vacate the table. I retorted that she had already seated us, and once you seat someone, you don't ask them to leave the table. She became insistent and loud to the point that the couple at the table next to us felt bad for my elderly dad, and offered their table. Nevertheless, the manager perp walked us out, it was totally humiliating, and made it appear as though we were being booted from the restaurant. No apology, no offer to be seated at the bar and have a complimentary drink, no offer to see about securing another table (MANY were empty, supposedly "reserved",) NOTHING !! Not a good look for Legends to treat a 92 year old, disabled, long time New Suffolk resident like a criminal! I am calling you out, ROSE, as a thoughtless, combative, rude and unsympathetic manager. Shame on Legends for having such an unsuitable person as the manager/ greeter. Revolting!

Good food and the servers are great. We had steaks, Brussels sprouts, oysters, and a Cesar salad. The Cesar salad was delicious. Brussels were the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Steaks were cooked medium rare. They also have a bar menu that is super kid friendly.

This has indoor and outdoor seating. Across the street from the water. This is not on the water. They have street parking. This location is cute and not super expensive. The bathroom is very clean! Just came for a few apps. Calamari and baked clams. The calamari was crunchy! The baked clams had a little too much bread crumbs for my liking. The staff was quick and super polite. Everyone was so welcoming! They do have a bar which was so pretty. The inside is so pretty. Would have loved to try more on the menu.

An excellent experience all around. Food was clearly prepared by a talented chef, very tasty. We had mussels in broth, tuna tartare, goat cheese salad, calamari, fish and chips. The service was top notch. And what a lovely setting, quiet, beautiful view of the waterfront. Highly recommend

Nice cozy bar and separate dining area with a great view of the bay. We had the blackened Ahi. Sashimi, (beyond delicious) calamari salad and poke bowl. Loved every bite. The bartender/waitress was pleasant and helpful. Loved the whole experience.

A Must try revamped menu! THE best sushi I've had in years. Superb. Resy does not seem to work for them right now [said there were no tables and there was plenty of space] so call for a table. There are 2 menus in the restaurant - the regular one which is still very nice and the sushi menu which is a local. modern twist along with some traditional offerings. The fish is top grade, prepared by a true expert. Service friendly and attentive.

We came back to a familiar place that is under new ownership. Thankfully, our favorite server, Kathy, is still there and is as nice as ever. The menu has changed, but the selections were very appealing and they have added a sushi bar and menu as well. We met the Sushi Chef, Michael and he was really knowledgeable and creative. The sushi was outstanding and unbelievably fresh. For our entree's, my wife had salmon and I had tuna and both were delicious. We ate in bar area and it is as warm and inviting as it always was. We will definitely Legends back into our regular rotation.

Our beloved Legends is under new management! Same friendly ambiance in the bar area however, smaller portions & higher prices! Bread for the table costs extra ( so does cheese on your burger!) Really? Just not the same anymore

Decent at best. Bar atmosphere is definitely the way to go. Plenty of tvs and sports vibes to watch a game however being seated at a table i got a different experience and the food was not it! Clams casino came out, 5 clam shells but only 4 clams. One was just full of breading and the breading is bland anyway. Only flavor it had was from the lemon squeeze. Calamari was just okay. Seared tuna with couscous was not even close to a tuna steak. It looked like albacore from a can of tuna. Broccolini was so salty i swear they dipped it in the ocean before plating it. Steak frites was super small and the only decent thing about the dish was the shoe string McDonald's style french fries. Service was fine. But at the end of the day this is a bar not really a sit down dinner spot. They give out different menus. Our table got a dinner menu and the table of kids next to us ordered wings and burgers and fries. I wish they advertised the full menu because i would not have ordered seafood or a steak. Make Legends Great Again!

I have been going to Legends since they opened and their food and service is just wonderful. It is family friendly and fun. The owner takes the time to go each table himself to make sure everything is going smoothly and deals patiently and attentively to each and every customer. Watching sports games there is the best! But they are also so active in giving back and supporting the community. The atmosphere is upscale and yet you feel like you are in your neighborhood bar/restaurant! The best place in town!

Been going to Legends for several years. Was disappointed that service was poor. Children running through bar area playing tag. Food took forever to come out. Waited 18 minutes for bar tender to even acknowledge that we were standing there. Not sure I will return,
