Highly recommend this place to stay. My wife and I were here for a 3 night stay in the month of June 2025. First of all the hostel has rooms with the most beautiful views of the mountain ranges and the valleys. Our room was always kept clean and tidy each and every day. It's a family run/managed property which is what gives it a homely touch to your stay. The most memorable part of the stay was home cooked freshly prepared absolutely healthy and delicious breakfast that you are served with love and care each and every morning. We would have our serving of the most amazing muesli ever tasted and would not feel hungry most day despite the ardous hikes. The owner was kind enough to share her recipe and now after coming back to the US we are hooked on the muesli. Talk about "farm-to-the-table" in its real sense. If you are planning on visiting Grindelwald and looking a place to stay PLEASE do not miss this beautiful place. I wish I could give it more than the 5 stars.

“It was a wonderful stay.” We stayed in a triple room with a balcony for 5 days from August 3rd. The room was clean, and the view from the room was absolutely stunning. The breakfast was also excellent. We truly wish to visit Grindelwald again, and we will definitely choose to stay here once more. Our time here was wonderful. We wish you continued good health. Thanks.

Great location away from the main road, around 10 mins leisure walk from the train station. I got a room with a great view of the mountains. No lift so be sure you are able to lug your luggage up the stairs. The whole place is clean and quiet, you get a sense that the owners take pride on keeping everything clean and tidy. Breakfast is standard fare similar to other locations, but the quality of the breads and pastries are fantastic. Franzi makes small talk with guests at breakfast whilst busy topping up any food items that run out. Just follow the rules that the owners have laid out, and you will enjoy your stay here.

Lehmann’s Herberge was a perfect base for exploring Grindelwald. The hosts were very welcoming and made our stay feel relaxed. The room was simple with a shared bathroom but had everything we needed - clean, comfortable, and just right after long days out. Location couldn’t be better, with easy access to trails and the town center. Great value and a cozy vibe.

A hostel with nice, spacious and clean rooms on walking distance from the Grindelwald railway station and the 'Firstbahn' cable car. Beautiful view on the surrounding mountains, you can almost touch the 'Eiger Nordwand'. A B&B where you recieve a warm welcome from Franzi and Marco. After waking up from one's sleep an excellent, sumptuous and carefully prepared breakfast is waiting, accompanied with a friendly smile and good morning from the hosts. We stayed here already a few times and it was always a pleasure. An excellent address that we highly recommend.

Booked this stay in Grindelwald on my 4 week European solo journey! I had really high hopes given prior reviews but I would never book this place or recommend it to anyone again. On the very first night I was there, Franzi showed me how to open the windows of my 3rd flood room. I didn’t use them however & woke up with over 15 mosquito bites to my body. I ended up with a pretty significant allergic reaction and spent almost 100CHF and many trips to the pharmacy for supplies to help. Franzi even brought it to my attention that when she did a room check the following morning she found many mosquitos. She killed a bunch, sprayed the room. The next day after she set a trap. Too little too late. When I brought this up and asked for a refund for ONLY the first night (not the entirety of the stay) I was met with blame that it was my fault for having sensitive skin, and she can’t control that prior renters may have kept windows open too long and that she’s glad there are mosquitos in nature for the animals for food where she lives. She wasn’t going to honor compensation. I have email proof of this. ||On top of this, the pillows are very flat and uncomfortable (and you only get one) and the beds are very firm just as a forewarning if you are okay with that. ||I was really looking forward to my experience in Grindelwald and just felt that it was completely tainted by my experience at Lehmann’s Herberge. ||I would rather pay more to stay somewhere I know I’m going to be treated with respect.

Everything surpassed our expectations! The location is perfect, 5min from everywhere (station, cable car, supermarket, tourist info). The view from the balcony we had was indescribable, we were mesmerised! The decor was very cosy, exactly like the photos show, breakfast was plentiful and varied and rooms/communal areas were impeccably clean. I highly doubt you will find anywhere better value than Lehmann’s Herberge in Grindelwald. We already can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much for such a wonderful, unique, unforgettable stay 🙌🏼🏞️

Stayed here for several days, just a quick 10 minute walk from the train station, very convenient location. Our room was in attic with two single beds. Cozy and clean.Free breakfast was good, bread, juices, coffee, tea, hard boiled egg, yogurt, cheese, salami/ham, etc. The woman/owner at the front desk was very nice and hospitable. I wish I could give 5 stars but the husband was really strict. He does not allow photos taken in the breakfast room. There is a sign actually stating this but if you missed it, he would say it right in your face in front of everybody. I wished he would just whisper it and not put you in the hot spot...Just a reminder to future guests.
