This location has several interesting areas to visit. There is the large tower with the escalator and glass elevator to take you to the panoramic city view. Then there is the lake with the house boats, tranquil setting amongst the many acres of Willow trees. This is a fantastic park where you can spend the whole day and just be surrounded by beauty.

Leifeng Pagoda offers a beautiful blend of history, legend, and sweeping West Lake views. The modern reconstruction is thoughtfully designed, with exhibits that explain the tower’s past and its connection to the Legend of the White Snake. The panoramic lookout decks are the highlight—perfect for photos and appreciating Hangzhou’s scenery. Although it can get crowded, the experience is still peaceful and culturally rich. A worthwhile stop for anyone visiting West Lake.

About a 5-10min walk from the entrance of 苏堤. Will pass by a Starbuck and a Chinese restaurant. Entrance fee to the tower is CNY40 per person. Going up the first level is the remains of the old tower. The stairs to the 2nd floor is on the left of the tower when you go up stairs toward the tower. From the 2nd floor you can take lift of stair up the tower. There is long queue for the lift, and the lift does not go to the top floor. You will still need to take the stairs for to the top floor. The view at the top is good, but a little crowded even on weekday. You get an all round view of West Lake and it’s breezy. Went on summer, so was especially nice to take a short break to enjoy the view and cool down.

The view from up here was spectacular. Each step towards the top of the pagoda transforms you into a wiser human being. You learn that when you walk, you will be tired. When you sit, you will get bored.
