Leighwood Lodge

The staff and owner make this place absolutely special. It is the perfect place for a family to go, and feel family atmosphere away from home. Rooms are a little chilly when we were there, but in true hospitality fashion, the lodge provides heated blankets and in room heaters. It is the attention to detail like this that makes this place special.

We had an amazing two nights at Leighwood Lodge. We used it as our base for a short girls escape in Joburg and it was perfect. All the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The beds were ideal for sleep ins! A highlight was the amazing food prepared for dinner and breakfast as well as the friendly and helpful service from all the team. We will be back.

A lovely bnb with very kind staff, amazing food, and safe location. We stayed at the lodge for four nights and were greeted with a delicious breakfast and friendly staff each day. A large and clean room, lovely view of the garden - will definitely return!

I was very fortunate to enjoy a delicious braai at Leighwood Lodge. The food was prepared and served up by Leigh herself. There is nothing like enjoying a braai beside the sparkling blue pool with a bitterly cold beer to complement the chicken skewers and lamb chops.

We loved our whole stay. The staff were attentive and friendly. The room was amazing, slept so well. At the amenities we're in working order and my husband loved his swim in to pool. We were latish and had not ordered breakfast but the staff went out of their way to make sure we got what we wanted.

Leighwood Lodge felt like the ideal place for our short stay in Johannesburg. Leigh the resident host was welcoming and responsive to messages sent both prior and during our stay, and the other resident staff were always on hand and happy to help.|Breakfast was freshly prepared and could be eaten either inside the character living room or outside. |We had wanted a final South African meal before we flew home and we hadn't had a chance to sample Bobotie. Leigh kindly prepared this meal for a small fee which included half a bottle of wine she had left over. The meal was very nice and well worth it.|Our bedroom was large, we slept well and liked having the option of a bath and separate walk in shower. We did have some issues locking and unlocking the safe, however, staff never made us feel like they were being inconvenienced when they came to help! |On the day of check out, Leigh kindly let us keep the room up till we left for the airport, around 7pm, which was really appreciated. |Leigh had also given us some useful advice on places to eat and areas to visit whilst in Johannesburg. |Overall, a really nice stay after a delayed arrival on our first day after some transport issues from Kruger! Uber is widely used in South Africa, is safe, reliable and cheap should you venture out.
