Leisure Inn Penny Royal

We will not be back. The noise surrounding the room, sounded like we had been put in the middle of a construction area. The almost non existence of cold water coming from the taps, seemed to confirm this. The lack of a working phone to being able to contact reception or security, didn't help. Being able to share the experience of our neighbours urinating during the early morning hours, may entertain some people, but it was not something we were looking for when we signed up to stay there. DO BETTER this was once a lovely place to stay.

Amazing! I stayed for 2 nights and will recommend this place to friends and family. I'm highly allergic to Dust mites, and not one did I need to take an antihistamine. So clean, warm, and comfortable. Having accommodation, restaurants, and activities all in one is amazing. You always have something to do.

We had an excellent stay at Penny Royal. We stayed two nights in the 4 bedroom apartment with 4 adults and 2 children. It was exactly what we needed for the weekend and would highly recommend. A nice flat walk into the city (15-20mins) and easy walking access to the Cataract Gorge.

Spacious and clean rooms, however the walls are very thin; we could hear all from the surrounding rooms. Great access options for those with prams or large bags. Heaps of on-site parking. Quick walk to city centre.

We stayed at Leisure Inn Penny Royal Accommodation in Launceston for a night during our family holiday and overall had a pleasant experience. However, there was a bit of confusion initially due to the property having two different venues located within 300 meters of each other. It wasn’t clearly mentioned during the booking process, which led us to the wrong location at first. That said, the staff handled the situation with great professionalism, especially Ojaswi, who was incredibly helpful and courteous while assisting us in switching our accommodation to the correct venue next to Penny Royal Adventures. We really appreciated the smooth handling of what could have been a stressful situation even though we were asked to pay some extra booking fee. The location was perfect — right in the heart of the city with easy access to local attractions. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained, offering a comfortable stay. The historic charm of the building added a unique touch, and the surroundings were peaceful and scenic. We’d definitely recommend this place for families, and just suggest that the booking platforms highlight the dual-location setup more clearly to avoid confusion for future guests.

Family of 4 staying in older section of penny royal precinct. The staff were lovely on checking and online checking process was easy. Parking good also. The accomodation was average, we did not sleep much at all due to excessive road noise- the complimentary ear plugs on the bedside tables should have been an early warning. You can also hear the neighbours clearly. The rooms were clean and bed comfy. Due to the lack of sleep we would not stay here again.

Great location. Charming accommodation with lots of character. Rooms were clean, kitchenette had fridge, kettle, airfryer and microwave. Comfy beds and lots of heating. Can recommend esp for families.

Great location to everything and value for money. It's close to the Gorge and the lifts and the CBD. Comfortable beds and nice rooms with history that adds a character to the place. Staff were lovely and helped us check in early. We will most likely stay here if we visit Launceston again.
