This is a great historic place to stay in Durango. The staff is only a text message away. There is no ice machine, but all I had to do is text them and within minutes, ice was delivered to my room. The rooms are small but maximize every inch of space. The refrigerator is very high-quality and more room than a regular mini fridge. The bed was comfortable and earplugs and a noise machine were provided due to the normal settling sounds of an historic building. We were given free drink tokens to the place next-door. Location is great, private parking lot in the back, and walkable around the entire town. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place with more character than a standard hotel.

We loved our stay at the Leland House! It was such a unique experience—beautiful, cozy, and full of charm. The location couldn’t be better—literally walking distance to everything, from outdoor adventures like the water and biking/hiking trails to Main Street shopping, great food, and even the train station. We can’t wait to come back!

I had such a great two-night stay at the Leland House in Durango! Dave and Carolyn went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable—truly wonderful hosts. The space itself is so cozy and inviting, it felt like a home away from home. One of the highlights for me was being able to borrow a bike for the day—such a fun and thoughtful bonus that let me explore the area with ease. Highly recommend if you're looking for a warm, relaxing place to stay in Durango!

Google
The hotel is very nice, and the location is great, but the thing I appreciated the most were the smart little features that you do not see everywhere else. They left us a nice handwritten note upon arrival, had a terrific smartTV that was easy to stream, had a pitcher of cold water and cold glasses in fridge that hit the spot, had a great ceiling fan (which is a big plus for me), an entirely keyless experience, easy parking, and a few other things. Durango was cool -- we stayed there as a jumping off point to Mesa Verde. We discovered the James Ranch up the road 10 miles or so, which had very good burgers in a pretty mountain setting. Great place.

We really enjoyed our short stay, and wish now that We had stayed longer. The rooms were beautifully decorated and a pleasure to spend time in. This is the best experience I have ever had ina ‘Hotel’, I would recommend this to anyone spending time in this part of Colorado. It is brilliantly located, with plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance. It is also in walking distance to the Durango/Silverton train. The complimentary drink tokens were a nice surprise!

Google
The location and room were perfect! The service was outstanding! I reached out after realizing I may have left a necklace (immense sentimental value) and they checked with housekeeping and located it and mailed to us! I already felt they were 5 star but that was the cherry on top! Highly recommend! -Kim Wilson

Google
Absolute 5-star experience. Location: perfect if you're there to play in downtown Durango. Rooms: beautiful, tastefully decorated, coffee and fruit provided, practical as well as gorgeous. Management: perfect. You get a how-to text the day of, text responses in minutes while you're there, and a how-to on the way out. I'm going back. (Note: I checked the one-star review here because I couldn't believe it, and it turned out to be a review of the restaurant next door. Very sloppy and rude on the reviewer's part.) I'm going back to this aparthotel.

Google
Great hotel, Great location, Great service. Rented 2 rooms for 2 nights with a couple of friends. One of them was apprehensive about staying in "historic" hotels and this place changed her mind. It's an old place for sure - don't expect huge bathrooms and the floor might squeak a bit but the owners did the absolute best job with their refurbishments. The inside of the rooms are impeccably clean and modern and the AC mini splits are super nice. Even the soap type stuff is super high end and nice. The fridge is also a high end kitchenaid, not a tiny barely cold motel fridge. Everywhere you look in the room you can tell whoever laid them out thoroughly thought about the guest experience. If I had to list the most minor negative, it would be that the tables on the edges of the bed are kind of small. The location is walking distance to all downtown durango has to offer, as well as the durango silverton train. It was nice not having to drive around at all during our stay. We asked for ice and they were quick to accommodate with delivery right to our room. We had another request that they were quick to respond immediately to our room as well. I have no doubt if we had enough of a problem with the bedside tables to mention something they would have had some solution for that too. Excellent service. If we find ourselves in the Durango area again, we will stay here.

Yelp
Wanting to stay near Main Street, we booked the Leland House via an online booking site. The studio suite seemed to be a great option for just the two of us and reviews seemed good so we took a chance, even though there was no cancellation option. Location was excellent! Just a couple blocks away from main street and a private little parking lot in back. As we got into the house we found our little studio room on the bottom floor near some stairs. The room was very small with a queen bed and the only widow facing a brick wall. It was just enough room for two, (so be sure you're comfortable in very close quarters). The room was clean and nicely decorated and renovated. It's basically a big house and the suite is one of the bedrooms so you hear every creak, every loud conversation, every bit of traffic in the hall and any movement in the rooms next to and above you. There are some little earplugs placed in the room to help out. It was summertime so the cooling wall unit was nice but it did struggle with staying cool the whole stay. Thankfully, Durango nights are cool. The TV options were good and they included two drink coins to be used at the cute little patio bar next door. Overall, I feel like the cost was a little high but I imagine most of that was for location, location, location! I would consider staying again maybe in a larger room on the top floor.

Yelp
Beautiful suite, neat and tidy. Check in information provided with codes to enter main building and room. Digital food and drink menu provided for three different restaurants. Personalized note left in room two tokens for complimentary drinks at nearby bar. I'm thoroughly impressed with this place! A caveat: there is no elevator or handicapped access. Those with mobility issues would have great difficulty enjoying this place.

Yelp
This is a mixed review. Three stars for the good. The location is fantastic! You can walk to everywhere downtown and the the river. The staff are welcoming and very willing to be there for anything you might need. They do not clean the room every day, but will come by to see if you need anything. The mini-splits provided perfect air conditioning. We had a one bedroom unit, thankfully, the studios looked to be very, very small. Now, the challenges, and there were a lot. First off, if you have bad knees and cannot do stairs, this is not the place for you. I wish they would have put on their website the fact that they have stairs, and the other issues if you are in any way physically challenged. I would not have booked had I known. They are there to help you bring your bags in, but as you go in and out for your stay you will have stairs, which was hard on me as I need a knee replacement. Ok, I can live with that, but what I can not live with is there were NO drawers to put your clothes or belongings in. NONE, and there was plenty of room to do so, so that was perplexing. I get the clean, sleek look they were going for, but that lasts for about the first 30 seconds when you first enter the room. I don't like to live out of my suitcase so I unloaded my clothes on the kitchen table so I could access them. In keeping the clean, sparse look, the bedside table could only fit a cell phone and bottle of water. There was plenty of room for a bigger table (with maybe some drawers) so that would have been nice if they had put one there. The closet (with 5 hangers) is in the living room, and there was a table there that could have easier been drawers, but no, nothing. Such a strange decision to make. The kitchen had some things that made you think you could cook there, but not enough at all. No bother, we were not going to cook, but if you think you can live for an extended stay here you are a better person than I am. We also had to sign our devices into the WIFI several times a day, and the workspace on the table is really small. The bathroom was very cramped, but I don't fault them for that. But since it was so small, it would have been nice to have a sink that was built in with drawers. Definitely no drawers anywhere here. The water pressure was so so, but the hard part of the shower was it was either scalding hot or lukewarm. My husband even noted that, so we just took lukewarm showers. The TV was pretty small and low quality, and there is no TV in the bedroom. The plastic chairs at the kitchen table were very hard, and that whole space was very cramped. For this trip I was WFH for three days and it was pretty rough. I would not stay here again. It was more expensive than the Marriott's down the road, and not a comfortable stay. I found myself wishing the three night, four day stay was over by day two. That said, younger people who don't mind living out of their suitcase will find this location to be really nice, with Lola's bar and food trucks, music, all within steps/stairs of the room. It just isn't my vibe.

Yelp
The hotel has been renovated and is very quaint with very nice touches. They personalize the entire experience and even though there is remote checkin they are available any time you need anything. I love the rooms and the beds are amazing. It is a small property and one of the very few places in Durango where all of downtown is walkable from the property. I have stayed here many, many times and should have done a review sooner. This is a hidden gem in Durango and worth every penny!!

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here and loved it. Has everything you need, great location and great communication from staff. We arrived late, missed a night but Nathaniel still kept in touch to make sure we got in ok. Ample parking, our room had a view of the train in the distance, nice fireplace. We will be back.

Yelp
This was my very first trip to Durango beginning 12/30 and planned to stay a week at the Leland House. As my week was coming an end, I had the opportunity to extend my stay for the entire month! I was so happy they were allowing extended stays. I absolutely enjoyed this cozy queen suite! It was great to have a quiet space so I can work from "home" (I am a school counselor and privacy is what I need). You access the suite by a key code and the room was separated in three parts, living room with tv, kitchen with table, and a queen bed with a bathroom. The kitchen was equipped with a refrigerator and oven. I had plates, cups, pots, pans, utensils and a coffee maker ready to use. The bathroom had everything I needed, stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. I appreciated the large container of lotion (dry winter air). The kitchen made it nice to cook small meals and get through a busy work week. I had ample amount of closet space, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. I was able to fit two large suitcases and hang everything I needed. I also had space to store my snowboard. The room also had a dresser for my clothes which was perfect as I extended my stay. The location is right in downtown next to many great spots to eat and shop. I couldn't have asked for a better stay and amazing hospitality from Kirk, Laura and Nat. They made me feel like I was at home and fully respected all covid guidelines during this unforeseen time. I had the best recommendations for food and as many site seeing adventures that you can fit into one weekend. I also want to mention, I was offered the option to reserve an office space across the street in RSpace to work, but I chose to stay cozy in my room next to my fireplace. I really appreciated my stay in Colorado as I pulled away from my day to day life in California. I will 100% will come back and stay again. January was beautiful, but I can't wait to come back during summer and fall. Don't pass up this beautiful gem. This was a perfect space to recharge during the time when most people are working from home.

Yelp
This place is fanatical about the little details, and I love that! It's welcoming, clean, fun, and best of all -- customer-focused. We'd booked our room to celebrate birthdays, but the 2019 winter snowstorms didn't cooperate. They allowed us to change the reservation without any hassle even though it was one day away. When we did stay, we had a lovely time until about midnight when the city snowplows and other machinery started clearing the street right outside our room (202). Loud scraping and continuous beeping! When we realized it wouldn't be stopping any time soon, we called the front desk number. That person wasn't onsite but took our info. Within minutes, we received a call from Kirk, who had opened another room for us: adjoining but with windows facing a side street. We didn't have to move all of our stuff and the noise was significantly less. Problem solved! Snow removal in CO is unavoidable, but we so appreciated how quickly the issue was taken care of for us. Breakfast here is a treat! Can't believe it's free. They have a bar with homemade granola and yogurt plus pastries, but they also have a featured breakfast they prepare fresh such as scrambled eggs with cheese, potatoes, and toast. Great coffee and orange juice. The staff is attentive and welcoming. We'll stay here again and happily recommend this place!

Yelp
I came to this hotel on a recommendation of Fort Lewis College. I was there for three nights in a very large suite on the second floor at the very end of the hallway. I had booked with Rochester Hotel, and was bummed to be put in the Leland House as all the staff I traveled with were in the Rochester Hotel. It would have been nice to know which building I would be in. Not that having to cross the street to obtain breakfast, meet up with my coworkers, or anything else was a big deal. I know I had a much larger room due to being across the street and it was much quieter due to being away from the bar area and having my windows not face the main street. The hot breakfast was delicious and the small assortment of other pastries and breakfast goodies was always different and delicious. The ginger snaps served after breakfast were the best ginger snaps I've ever had. I am sure the other options of cookies were just as delicious, but I stuck with my ginger snaps. My one slight issue was that I asked to change rooms due to my guilty pleasure of watching TV from my bed when staying at a hotel. As my room was a suite, the TV was in the living room. I usually wouldn't have bothered to ask, but everyone was so friendly at the hotel that I figured it would not hurt to ask. The staff looked at the computer for about 2 minutes and told me the change was not possible. Given the care put into everything else (i.e. free bikes to use and umbrellas when the rain hit), it was a little annoying to hear 'no' with no real explanation as to why and what appeared to be very little work toward accommodating the request. (However, I am probably the crazy one for wanting to move from a small apartment, bigger than my apartment, to a smaller room.)

Yelp
I am currently in the middle of an extended stay at the Leland House Suites of Durango and cannot imagine a more perfect place to stay. I had called to book a reservation and was helped by a very friendly and informative employee. During my stay, the staff has been extremely helpful with recommendations for restaurants, activities, and hikes. I have really enjoyed getting to know Kirk, Laura, Susan and Nat! Upon arrival, I parked on the street in front of the hotel to unload my car. There is secure parking in the back of the hotel but since my room was closer to the front, I figured it would save me some time to unload and then move my car later. The property is set up with a contactless/remote check in process which worked just fine and is a great idea given the pandemic. I have been working remote during my stay and was pleased with the internet speed at the hotel (which was also very reliable - haven't had any issues). I had the option to work at the co-working space (R Space) right across the street, which was great if I wanted to get out of my room. The location of the hotel is ideal, right in downtown Durango, a block North of Main Ave. Within walking distance from the hotel, there are restaurants, hiking, grocery stores and the Animas River Trail. I was in a queen suite which had a bedroom, living room and kitchen. The kitchen was perfect to make a quick breakfast before hitting the slopes which is a huge time saver when you are trying to get an early start at the slopes. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay and can't wait to come back again in the future.

Yelp
This place is an absolute delight. Nice one bedroom accommodations with everything we need for a few weeks in Durango. Great sitting room with couch and desk; kitchen area with seating and small kitchen for basics; comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Bed is comfy. Plenty of storage. If you're looking for luxury, this is probably not your place. The furniture, etc is not super fancy. But if you're looking for cozy, convenient accommodations, definitely book. Right next to everything you need downtown. Offstreet parking, too. Lovely restaurant next door called the Dandelion Cafe. Dog friendly and all the dogs we met were super well behaved. Laura is amazing to work with to set up your stay.

Yelp
I love the Leland House and Rochester. My husband and I visit Durango at least 3 times a year because our son lives here. We've tried the Strater, and the General Palmer and while they provide perfectly fine lodging, the Leland House and Rochester goes well beyond perfectly fine lodging. Apart from the lodging, I feel like I'm staying with friends when I stay here. The location cannot be beat. It's a little quieter and the train isn't noticeable. We've never had an issue finding a place to park in their lot. It's a fun and easy walk to all the restaurants we like to frequent. The breakfast that is included is out of this world. This isn't your run-of-the-mill "continental breakfast." They always have something hot in addition to homemade bread and scones. Yummy homemade granola. The staff is always gracious about allowing our son to have breakfast with us even though he doesn't stay with us. I complimented the lemon bread and they gave me the recipe (I wish I could say that I made some at home, but I need a reason to return.) I also think it speaks well of them that they have had some of the same staff for as long as we've been coming here, (since 2012) and they all appear to take ownership and pride in the place. The rooms are comfortable and cozy (and that's not code for cramped - the space is well-used). I like the Aveda (I think?) products in the bathroom (especially the fact that you don't have to fuss with those annoying little bottles, the products are dispensed from a large refillable container in the shower) and the wonderful glycerine soap that bears their name. I like having a kitchen when I stay for a couple of nights. I'm a sucker for neon lights and their signage is stupendous. The movie decor in the main building is fun and entertaining. The secret garden is peaceful and shady in the summertime. I like the bicycles that you can rent, and I especially like the bicycle that is dressed up on the fence (so very Durango). Their wine is fab and they have a great selection of tea, coffee and cookies available in the afternoon. Anyway, sometimes I pay less attention to five-star reviews, but giving this place any less than five stars would do it an injustice. The Leland House has earned every one of the five stars.

B L.

Yelp
These guys have been great! New ownership and a seamless transition. Five stars all around for their hospitality.

Yelp
Service: Excellent Stay Experience: Could not be better, honestly. It was perfect. The room was wonderful and very, very clean. Have you ever been to a hotel or whatever, where the rooms are not as clean as you had hoped? Its a terrible feeling haha. This establishment was completely tidy and lovely! Suggestions: When guests check in, make a bigger deal about breakfast being served. Drive your guests to attend breakfast! I had no idea it was even offered - there was no communication in the room, nor at the front desk upon check-in. Upon check-out, every employee greeted us warmly, but every single one of them mentioned that we were the only room that did not come out of our room to join other guests for breakfast. Well, frankly, I didn't know they served breakfast nor did they market it at all. I felt terrible because I would have loved to have dined there in the morning! Thoughts: The room heater (early October visit) was a bit blustery. When it turned on, all the curtains blew wildly in the room due to the great air force, but I guess that is way better than the opposite alternative. ha! There did not appear to be a phone in the room, which is just fine because it IS the 21st century. However, there did not appear to be any printed history about the establishment nor was there any printed communication in the room (yep, you guessed it)... about breakfast. Feedback: The bathroom door did not seem to shut all the way nor did it close enough to lock. It was no bother, but if I was not staying with someone who I was close with, I think a door that locks would be pretty important.

Yelp
LOVE this place. So glad we found it in our guidebook as we were seconds away from booking another hotel in Durango. One street removed from Main St and extremely walkable to restaurants, hotels, etc. We were staying at Leland but checked in across the street at The Rochester House. With our room keys, we were also given a remote for accessing the private parking lot behind Leland. We parked in a gravel lot and made our way to our room. It's a bit difficult to figure out how to enter from the back especially late at night but we managed. Our room door to my surprise was open with the fireplace on. It was a really nice touch, similar to us feeling like we were returning home. They had called earlier and upgraded us (for free) from a queen room to a queen suite. The living room area had a couch, fireplace, TV. There was a full kitchen followed by the bedroom and bath. I definitely could've stayed here for a week or more! :) For breakfast the next morning, we walked across the street and were warmly greeted. In addition to coffee, tea, juice, scones and other pastries, we were asked whether we wanted the breakfast special of the day which rotates daily. Everything was delicious. The room was bathed in sunlight and warmth. The couple next to us had already booked their room for next year around this time. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
This review is a little bit out of date, because my stay at the Leland House was in October of 2007. However, it took me until today to notice that I'd neglected to write a Yelp review of it. Our impression of Leland House was definitely helped by the fact that it's in such a cute setting. My husband and I were on our honeymoon, which was a driving trip around the American Southwest. Before arriving in Durango, we'd spent a night in Mexican Hat, Utah, a town known for a big rock with a population of about thirty people. It was a fun night, but after that, Durango seemed cosmopolitan in comparison. Parking was very easy to deal with (we just parked on one of the main streets in front of the bed and breakfast - in fact, I think it was even CALLED Main Street). I was afraid that keys and check-in would be confusing because I'd been told when I made my reservation via the website that I would need to check in at the Rochester Hotel rather than at the bed and breakfast. However, the Rochester was easy to find and check-in was quick and polite. We had booked the cheapest room in the place, but because I noted in my reservation that we were on our honeymoon, we were upgraded to a much larger suite. It was fantastic. Adorable decor, huge king bed, sitting room, large jacuzzi bathtub, and a small box of chocolates with a little card wishing us a happy honeymoon. All of the staff was super-friendly, and the breakfast served at our B&B the next morning was so delicious! There were homemade pastries, Belgian waffles with cranberry coulis and real maple syrup, and homemade granola with yogurt. Even if we had been in our original smaller, cheaper room, I feel that the price we paid would have been worth the experience. It really didn't cost much more than the hotels we stayed on our trip. If we ever go back to Durango, I would not hesitate to book a room or suite at the Leland House. They really did make us feel at home.

Yelp
Wow, we loved this place. We stay in Durango a lot and have stayed all over the town. We were there just a few days ago for the winter festival "Snowdown" we usually stay at the Strater, but we stayed at the Leland house this year and loved it. The location is wonderful, and so is the feel and decor. Our room, as I think most in the Leland House, had a kitchenette in it. This was very helpful for us, as they had breakfast there, but that would have need us to get up at a reasonable time, which we had no interest in doing. The staff was incredibly friendly, and very responsive to any issue that came up, which were minor. My biggest complaint about the whole place was that our room was so comfortable, large, and contained so many things that we needed, that we didn't go out and do as many things as we could have or should have. We loved it, and will DEFINITELY stay here in the future. Also, their private label house red is delicious.

Lea-Ann E.

Yelp
The Leland House is such a warm sweet place with a fabulous owner! We were booked in a one bedroom suite for 4 nights but needed a couple extra nights. Our room was already booked after our 4 nights and could not accommodate us. So the wonderful owner Kirk gave us an upgrade to the Pittman Suite with a nice discount. This is service. I highly recommend the Pittman Suite if you have a family. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms with the cutest touches here and there. You also have a balcony to enjoy. Its perfect. More bests about this place........ Parking, downtown location so you can walk everywhere, clean and cozy, great service, live music, fantastic breakfast and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. Simply delightful! :)

Yelp
If you need a hotel in Durango go to this great little place. Leland House B&B and Rochester Hotel are sort of the same entity and I was helped across the street at the Rochester. Super friendly and helpful staff that gave us 10 dollars off for no apparent reason. One of the college aged employees helped us find the parking spots designated for the B&B and helped us with our extra stuff as well as being very personable. As for the rooms, they are not what I would call modern but they are very comfortable, clean, and had a kitchenette, which we found very useful. For breakfast they had a coat cheese and spinach scramble with potatoes and fresh fruit. I've never such a good breakfast at a hotel. This place is quaint and friendly, and definitely deserves five stars!

Craig R.

Yelp
Walking into the 'apartment' I rented, my first thoughts were "holy shit, this place is haunted" ... so I turned on all the lights and sank into my comfortable bed. I awoke a few hours later and realized this place isn't creepy at all - it's just not the sanitized neon of the usual hotels I stay at. The rooms are old and decorated tastefully, with REALLY nice bathroom soaps (these things are important to me as I usually don't travel with any). The appliance's are modern though - with flat screen televisions and high speed wireless internet. Most rooms that I saw also have porches which are great for the smokers. The breakfast was exceptional. They even kept it open for me when I forgot about daylight savings time and strolled in five minutes AFTER it should have been closed up. Their coffee was locally roasted and very good. The staff is pleasant and helpful, and the rates are reasonable. I'd stay in this town AND this B&B again in a heartbeat.

R J.

Yelp
This place was ok, but wouldn't go again...for the money, it just didn't measure up. It's an old hotel or boarding house, across the street from the main "hotel", the parking is on a graveled lot below the place and not well-lit. The main hotel, where breakfast is provided, was nicer, but again...for the money, I'd try somewhere else...not a fan.

Karen S.

Yelp
My dad and I stayed here for 2 nights on a trip through Southwest Colorado and couldn't have been happier! We wanted accommodations that would allow us both privacy (a bedroom with door and a sofa bed separated by a kitchen) which this did. Was great to brew good local coffee in the AM while we got around - a nice touch in this world of thin watery packaged coffee. The bathroom is off the bedroom so be aware if you're the one on the sofa and you can't make it through the night - you need some agreement with the bedroom resident! The breakfast was really good and the staff very hospitable. Easy walk to restaurants and the train station.

Kira B.

Yelp
Lovely place and even lovelier staff! We stayed one night at the Leland House while traveling through Durango. We didn't arrive until close to 10pm yet the gal who checked us in was super friendly and showed us around. Definitely made us feel at home! Our room was huge, like an apartment. Very cool place and clean and comfy. Breakfast the next morning was great but since I eat vegan, I couldn't eat the egg scramble they were offering. I had fruit and baked goodies instead. The young man who helped us at breakfast was doing a fantastic job! It was probably his first job and he was doing great. Overall very happy with our experience here and we would definitely return!

Richard L.

Yelp
We stayed in a Queen Suite at the Leland House B&B. Yes it was a little more expensive but worth it. We had a full living room with couch, chair, desk and flat screen. In addition we had a quaint kitchen and nice bedroom with comfortable queen bed. On top of that a nice breakfast with friendly staff. We had to leave early the last day and the Lady at the front desk insisted she fix us a sack breakfast as we were leaving before breakfast. As for location it is downtown so you can leave your car and easily walk to dinner, train and shops...great place and will return!

Neven J.

Yelp
This place is a gem. The breakfast was amazing plus they have cruisers and helmets! All guests can use them for free. It's located on a quiet street downtown so it's close enough to Main St. without all the foot traffic.

Alix T.

Yelp
This place is centrally located right in town and really (really!) great. I was greeted at the door by Cairo, who was incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. Thank you, Cairo for the great welcome and for going above and beyond. The room was clean, nice, decorated in the very nice way way with nice small touches. The garden was heaven. I'll stay here again. Nice place, nice people.

Yelp
Leland House is hands down the most magical accommodation I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The staff is all friendly and personable, checking in with guests to ensure their comfort while investing a genuine interest in how their guest is doing. (I had an interview one day, and the next day at breakfast I was asked how it went!) the breakfast is hot off the stove and if you don't have the time for a full breakfast, there is a wide variety of continental breakfast options. Oh, and don't forget to stop back around 2pm during your Durango adventure, because Leland House puts out freshly baked cookies!

Yelp
Adorable. We stayed on the old inn side--Rochester Inn. Was well reviewed in TripAdvisor etc. Got a good rate, nice room--not big, but well appointed. Parking was a bit slim, but they said they had passes to park in municipal lot next door. Good breakfast with delicious home made items and great help. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at this hotel. The rooms are nice, clean, and well decorated. Sometimes the historic hotels smell historic, and this one did not. The service was really exceptional. We were late for the train, and the receptionist helped us secure our things, and even prepared a bag with some pastries and fruit from the breakfast buffet. We were only going to stay one night, so we were keeping our tbjngs at reception. At the last minute we called to add a second night. When we arrived the second night our luggage had been moved to our room, and they gave us a free upgrade to a king sized suite. I have never given a review before, but felt compelled to do it just on behalf of The Leland House.

Yelp
Comfortable, very convenient to town, friendly for our dog and private. Good breakfast.

Yelp
We stayed for just one night at Leland House B&B but would love to come back. I describe it as a quaint place and friendly experience. Downtown Durango is not that large, but this is at the heart with all the shops and restaurants nearby and in the morning we walked to the train station, maybe 5 minutes by foot. When we arrived, the staff had already opened our room, the lights were on and music playing softly, very welcoming. As others mention, the included breakfast was very nice. You'll want to ensure at least 30 minutes because the special dish is made fresh once you're seated. The bathroom was on the small side (not a complaint, it's an historic building), but very nice, as was the bed and bedding. My only disappointment came at check-out time. The person who mans the registration desk had left to tend to some breakfast diners outside. After asking nearby staff twice when she might return, someone jumped in to help me check out. Nothing major, I've just grown accustomed to turning in a key and leaving and it took maybe 5-10 minutes to do so this visit. Overall a wonderful place and very nice staff, would recommend a stay here when you are in Durango.

Yelp
The location is killer. Right down town. Locally owned and operated. I stay here often and the staff is always nice, they have a great breakfast and killer late night cookie snacks and it's very charming. This is the same business at the Hotel Rochester but across the street.

Yelp
I am rating this 3 stars because of the large Jacuzzi tub. Our room was just off the lobby and I could hear all the doors creak and the floors squeaked with every step. They serve a sit down hot breakfast but you don't have options. They serve one hot meal otherwise you get cereal and the usual Continental breakfast options. Not a selling point to me. The room was overpriced even at the discount we were given and the bed was definitely not a queen size but was actually a full. We had been driving all day and had reservations elsewhere but the room pictured on their website looked nothing like the 60's room we walked into so we opted for this place just to be done with it. I would stay at a chain in this town just for consistency.

Yelp
Love this place. The staff was so welcoming, quick to introduce me to other staff members and it was great to see how much they all enjoyed their jobs. Bed and breakfast type hotel with 2 buildings directly across from each other. They will provide you with a parking pass to park in the back if one of the buildings. Breakfast is included in your stay and certainly the best part. They make breakfast for you. today was scrambled eggs with feta & basil & hash browns. Located right off main street, perfect for whatever brings you to Durango.

Yelp
Loved our stay at Leland House. The staff is super nice. The rooms are charming in decor, comfortable and roomy. The downtown location was great for us. We did not have a car but everything we needed was within walking distance. If you wanted to book an excursion, the booths were right there. Plenty of shopping and good restaurants near by. Their cruiser bikes were very convenient for us to get to further places. Need to try Seriously Texas BBQ. The river trail is near by for a nice walk, run, or bike ride. The breakfast was different everyday and really good. Best decison I made on this trip!

Yelp
After staying previously at this B & B, we decided in June to stay again and were hoping for another wonderful experience. Unfortunately, the reservation was switched and the room requested was occupied by someone else. The room we were given was an alley room with chipped paint, a broken bathroom latch, beds that were so inaccessible that we had to crawl over each other to get in or out, the a/c ventilated hamburger odors the entire time one of the neighbor's businesses were cooking, the shared patio was definitely an after thought because the dirt and weeds were incongruent with the lovely patio across the street at it's sister hotel the Rochester. Considering the five stars given by others I expected the bedside lamp to work (it flickered every time the nightstand shook) and the floor dirt to have been picked up by housekeeping. My list goes on to include built up filth on the bathroom window sill. It is too bad that even my lengthy complaint two weeks ago didn't warrant a follow-up call by anyone at the hotel. The two stars given are because of the delicious breakfast and several of the persons who work there. Think twice about your stay at this hotel.
