It's an amazing space and retail concept - congrats to the Lemaire team for putting this together. I feel very conflicted as I write this review, but I also want to provide honest information for potential shoppers.
I went on a weekday afternoon, and even then, it was a mad house. There were 3 international families who brought their elementary school-aged kids along. They were screaming, running through the shop, kicking mirrors, and climbing furnitures. Kids were screaming that "it's boring!!!" and destroyed the entire ambience. At one point, a kid went into the changing room and tried to open my changing room's curtain as I was changing! I never knew shopping could be so nerve-wrecking.
Many tourists were simply there to take photos of the interiors of a Japanese residence, and did not even look at the products once, so they ended up just standing in the way of customers.
It was so chaotic that I could not actually discover and try on the clothes in peace, so I left.
I do have to say though, despite all the chaos, all the staff members were incredibly gracious about it and were very helpful. I think everyone made the best out of the chaos. The staffs were clearly well-trained, knew the products well, and provided helpful recommendations.
It's a shame, because Lemaire fit and sizing can be tricky, and it is really best if you can try them on in person to find the best fit.
I hope it was really just an opening hype issue, and not a long term issue. Maybe I will come back once the hype is over.
