The only reason I'm giving two stars and not one is Joe, Mike, and Melody. Those staff members are quite literally the ONLY GOOD THING about my stay at this catfish of a hotel.
The front desk staff are deplorable. They're rude, apathetic, and honestly quite snide. First of all, my card was charged incorrectly twice. We tried to settle it so many times and I've even still checking my card constantly to make sure there aren't anymore fraudulent charges. I get $46 food & beverage credit with Hotels.com that they "don't count" towards the minibar for some reason and they'll only let you know that at check out.
Half of my stay was with a friend and the second half was by myself. During the first half, small things happened. Examples include housekeeping banging on the door at 9am (where do they do that so early??), coffee and toiletries not being replaced, what sounds like a full on nightclub blasting bass music till 4am and VERY thin walls, and no robes. Fine. But when she checked out and left me on my own, it went downhill quickly.
The first room I was moved to had a poorly functioning A/C which seems like a common theme among the other reviews. I couldn't sleep in it so they moved me. They moved me to another room (same queen bed single) but the bed was broken. It felt like a 20 year old mattress. As someone with back problems, I woke up in the morning and my back was completely out. I honestly just wanted to leave but I had one more night. They finally moved me to ANOTHER room that was also the same set up but functional. There was NEVER a time where they offered to upgrade me or anything for the inconvenience which I know I'm not entitled to, but, CUSTOMER SERVICE AM I RIGHT. At $300+ a night, you expect small courtesies when you're inconvenienced.
I expressed to reception how terrible of an experience I had from the fraudulent charges, to the low quality rooms, etc and told them I realllly don't want to write a bad review but I feel like I have to because they never even tried to ameliorate the situation and the woman just says "sorry to hear that". You can tell they don't care about the integrity of the hotel. They could have waived the $29/night resort fee for my Motel 6-esque stay or, hell, just let me use my $46 food and beverage credit, but no.
Joe, Melody, and Mike are the only redeeming qualities of this place. It's pretty, but I had such a hellish experience that I was EXCITED to leave. I have never felt that way on vacation. I would avoid this place and go to the Fountanbleau, Loews, Ritz, Marriott, Marlin, or ANYWHERE else. It's really not worth it.
