15 Best Breweries in Charlotte

"Lenny Boy Brewing, which celebrates its seventh anniversary this year, blossomed from just one 200-gallon kombucha tank in a 2,000-square-foot space into a 31,000-square-foot facility with a booming kombucha business and, now, a highly regarded beer business as well. In that time, the South End neighborhood that Lenny Boy calls home has evolved into a dense area filled with bars, breweries, and trendy restaurants that attract locals and tourists alike." - Lauren Levine

Google
Nice brewery! I really loved the atmosphere here. Cozy and comfortable. Beer was good, and so was the sandwich and pretzel!

Google
Nice selection of craft beers. Had a sour and hazy ipa, both great. Just a few things to eat but both sandwiches I tried were tasty. It was too hot outside to sit but the inside area had a nice family friendly vibe

Google
Beautiful spot to grab a drink with plenty of parking even on busy event nights. The atmosphere is superb. The plants are beautiful and I love the copper tones and warm lighting. Steven and Becca are very helpful and friendly, with lots of knowledge on the beverages with great recommendations. As someone who isn’t jazzed about sours, and prefers pale ales, the sours they have available are enjoyable which speaks volumes about their craft. I enjoy the events they have as well, especially wrestling. Highly recommend this spot for drinks, gatherings or relaxing. I enjoyed working on a small project here. I was not rushed by the associates while working on my drawings while enjoying my beers, either. I think this location elevates the environment with its intentional displays of tasteful plants, and art, and you don’t get that with a lot of breweries these days. Some breweries are very rugged and bare bones, and more production focused than presentation focused. Lenny blends their production side / equipment into the building which is subtly visible from the tap room and it adds an industrial touch to the already beautifully balanced interior of the building. They support local art as well, which is admirable.

Google
Friendly staff, sweet indoor space with hanging plants and plenty of outdoor space as well. A top notch brewery experience! The beer experience was great as well, I had a belgian trippel, as well as a sour, and both were crisp, satisfying and enjoyable to consume. They are also somewhat dog friendly (dogs allowed outside, with a gate kind of like a dog park).

Google
Great beers with friends here. Staff is phenomenal. Lenny boy is the next big brewery to come out of Charlotte. Darts and corn hole and boardgames. If you don't like beer they have a variety of non alcoholic kombucha. The food truck that serves here changes from time to time. Pretty big location. They used to allow dogs inside but unfortunately it's outside only now.

Google
Fantastic. Lenny Boy may just be the best Kombucha in the world. The experience is wonderful because the staff is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The art work all over the walls is really intriguing. Oh and they have a plant show and a artist marketplace... the food is simple but really good.

Google
I like their beer and their kombucha. Today they had a strawberry inspired selection and live music. They have a variety of beers and kombucha flavors for everyone. There’s plenty of inside and outside seating. There are 2 bars and 2 large rooms. They have a good food menu as well! Great place to go with friends or even on a day date.

Google
NC's only organic beer and great kombucha! Can't beat the kombucha! I really like the way they experiment with beer. Recently i have gotten into sours and wild ales and this is one of the few breweries that has them. Should be moving into their new facility by labor day! Update on 4/23/21...Chevalier Stout, possibly the best bourbon barreled aged stout I've had!

Yelp
We finally made it here. Love it. Great sandwiches and pretzels. The brews are even better. IPAs for hubby. Stouts and kombucha for me. They even have your choice of kombucha as a mimosa. Delicious!

Yelp
I actually came here for an event and like the space. It's great for large groups of you want to get a good beer and relax outside and get lost in conversation. The prices are fantastic! I almost regret saying this here because I'm sure it will make this "hidden gem" even more popular. Their cider is SO good and they also make their own spiked iced tea and I enjoyed it as a better lower sugar alternative. Spent $16 bucks and had a very mellow buzz. Will be back. Service is super fast and super nice and friendly.

Yelp
Came here for improv night with my wife for an impromptu date night. Parking is very limited. Had to make several laps before a kind gentleman guided us to some unmarked parking. Very old school barn door bar kind of feel to the place. We didn't hang out in the main bar area as the improv was in the, I don't know what to call it area. Beer selection is good, bar food was excellent and came out quickly. We had a really nice time and I recommend visiting if you are in the area.

Yelp
Bartender knowledgeable. Huge variety! Peaceful surroundings. Fun outdoor area for being in the city. Check out the murals.

Yelp
This place was cool it was clearly a local hangout for the younger crowd but the people there let us try samples and were very nice the kombucha was wonderful and we bought two of our favorites. Will definitely come back

Yelp
Good fun, friends and solid beers. Saw a wrestling show here and service was impeccable and there was good vibes throughout. Good weather so hung out back on patio

Yelp
Lenny Boy is my favorite brewery in Charlotte. They have classic beers like IPAs and pilsners, fun sours, batched cocktails, wine, and kombucha. I'm a big fan of sours, and they have the most options of any brewery I've seen. My favorite drink is a kombuchamosa, craft kombucha with prosecco. Their food is classic bar fare. The nachos and pretzels are always good. It's a large space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also often have events and things to get involved in, such as $5 yoga, free comedy nights, disc golf, and indoor wrestling.

Yelp
My first visit here and I was meeting a large group for a holiday party. Staff was great and had an area toward the back *roped * off for us. It was a rainy Sunday evening, so they were not busy, and there was plenty of space to mingle. They obviously have beer but also kombucha ( they are well known for this), wine, and a few specialty cocktails you can choose from as well. I had the hot chocolate with Baileys, and it was fabulous. They do offer some food options as well. Will definitely go back another time as they have a spacious outdoor area I would like to try on a sunny day. Did not get a photo of that as it was pouring rain all night!!

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday night and it was pretty dead. I liked all the plants everywhere. Surprised our beer was served in plastic cups when we were sitting indoors. Beer was ok. Good vibe though and they have lots of choices for beer and kombucha.

Yelp
I love coming here, there's always a good atmosphere and good beer. My favorite drink of this summer is the Purple Butterfly.
google avatar

Yelp
Great location that is well marked, and has a parking lot. They offer kombucha, year round beers, and limited releases. Dogs are welcomed outside. Service is friendly. Food is just alright, but is very reasonably priced. Beer is decent.

Yelp
So I fell IN LOVE with Lenny Boy on Sunday. It's a freakin plant oasis in there and I just wanna move in with all my plant babies! I got to chat it up with Phillip at the bar about the plants and their plant history and also beer history. He was great, so helpful, informative and welcoming! Really made us feel like friends :) Of course I tried the "booty call" beer first! Loved it! Also tried the Citraphilia and really enjoyed that one too. We topped our beers off with a pretzel and beer cheese and great convo. Going back to Lenny Boy often!

Yelp
Stopped by after a dinner date for some kombucha and discovered it was $10 flight night. Staff was super nice and helped me pick out my pours. They gave the option to taste samples so you could figure out what you liked. I ended up adding one I really didn't care for and they allowed me to swap it out with no hassle. Parking lot is pretty big, inside is spacious and the bathrooms are clean. I wish I had room for a pretzel but I was stuffed from dinner. I'd love to come back and try yoga night. An attendee told me it was $5 to participate and you get a free drink ticket to redeem after class.

Yelp
I've always wanted to try kombucha beer and had to stop here! I ended up getting the lavendera mosa and it was delicious!!! Such a calming drink! I also got the diet beer to sample! The staff was so friendly and I got a jug of Elation kombucha which is their hard kombucha!

Yelp
Met some friends here for a few beers after work. It is conveniently located right off of South Tryon, and has ample parking. There is a large open seating area with high ceilings and a bar area. The brewing area is visible through a window. This is a nice space. We did not order food on this visit. They had quite a few beers and kombucha on tap, I had the Raspberry Mustache, and the Creature of Habit Helles. Both beers were good. The other guys had the Czech Pilsner and the Farmhouse Ale, both enjoyed their beers were good as well. The bartender was attentive and friendly Overall, I really enjoyed this place and look forward to trying it again soon

Yelp
Probably one of my favorite breweries in Charlotte! Their taproom is so inviting and cozy - absolutely loved all the plants. Their staff was super nice and I had to try their Festbier since it was just tapped fresh. Absolutely delicious and refreshing. we sat outside under the covered awning since my friends brought their dog. Loved that they're such a dog friendly brewery. We didn't try any food but everything on their menu looked great. Looooooved their huge mural out friend - we even took some photos in front of it. I adore trash pandas! My friends tried and loved their kombucha and their sours. Overall, this was a really awesome brewery to gather with friends/dogs and hang out. Their beer variety was really great and I would absolutely come back again when visiting the Charlotte area.

Yelp
Good beer selection. Nice open space. Food was ok too. Would go back. Lots of other bars at walking distance.

Yelp
The first Saturday of the month, they have a pop up market of local vendors. There's also music playing and it's good time to spend a Saturday. As for the brewery itself, the inside if clean and aesthetic is nice. Lots of seating inside and outside. There's TVs and plants on the walls and ceilings. They have a pretty good selection of beers and kombucha for a range of palettes. We've tried their pizza pretzel and everything pretzel. They do not disappoint. If you're a plant lover like me, to check our their plant room!

Yelp
Nice brewery with indoor and outdoor seating options. This bar has one of the biggest sour beer menus I have seen. I ultimately chose to indulge in an apricot sour for around $8. I enjoyed the drink outside on a picnic table. I noticed a lot of people being their dogs here. Also, what was neat was that this place is connected to a flower/plant shop. Who would have thought.. beer and plants? But it seemed like a good idea. Massive parking lot which makes coming here easy!

Yelp
Beer is 10/10 Food was a -2/10 The beer that was offered was absolutely delicious, the jam sour on the menu is perfect. They offer 6 beer choice flights and also have hard kombucha. Food...lenny boy...seems like someone gave you a microwave and an allowance to the nearest gas station. Cheap chips with an Italian sandwich is just not it. I was expecting a big fluffy sandwich. Chicken nachos made me sick. Anyway...go for beer and not food. The service is outstanding, you walk up to the little bar and the nice gentleman will help you out. They have hanging plants everywhere as well as some weird art that doesn't quite go with the place but whatever.

Yelp
If you're looking for a place where you can bring your alcoholic (or better said, drinking) and non-alcoholic 'frieeendz' plus your furry four-legged friend (outside) and get some pretty decent food, then Lenny Boy Brewing (LBB) is the place for you & your trusty companions. LBB is conveniently located in South End right off of Tryon Street. It can be easy to miss but if you see the LBB sign on the building and the gates, then you're in the correct location. Lenny Boy has a nice assortment of beer, kombucha, sours, and munchies. From IPAS to Pilsners to to Lagers to sours, they cover almost any of your beer needs; and for my sober friends, they have an array of kombucha flavors such as Good ol' Ginger to Lavenderade to Strawberry Limeade, LBB has it signed, sealed, and delivered. As far as the food is concerned, they have menu items such as Italian Grilled Cheese, Garlic Parmesan Pretzel, Charcuterie Board, and many other handheld and delectable bites to satisfy any taste-buds. Their customer service is ON POINT, the taproom stays nice and tidy, and the atmosphere is very relaxed but fun. I usually go to Lenny Boy for TRIVIA NIGHTS which are incredibly fun and competitive. I also love when LBB host events at their venue that incorporates the small and/or local businesses in and around Charlotte, NC. It really opens up the reality that we are a city of strong entrepreneurs and we, as a city, are here to support them. All in all, Lenny Boy Brewing is a place I would definitely recommend to my family and friends AND NOW, I am recommending it to you that is reading this review. If you need more insight, just look at the pictures I provided or read the other amazing reviews about LBB; as you can see, they do not have a 1-star AT ALL because it's an phenomenal establishment. Cheers MATE$! ...::: TrizzyO_o :::...

Yelp
This was my first ever visit to Lenny Boy and I was pleasantly surprised by both the atmosphere and prices! They have a great variety of beers, sours, and kombuchas (& hard kombuchas) to choose from, and I loved all the live plants everywhere! Notable features: - Awesome daily deals (the one we did was $10 pitcher) - They serve food, we tried the pizza pretzel - Plant game is fire (seriously, like can I have some tips?) - Indoor and outdoor seating - Dog-friendly - They'll let you keep your car there until 10:30 pm (when they shut the parking lot gate) as you hop to other south end spots - Variety of seating options: normal tables, high tables, couches We really enjoyed our girls night here and definitely will be back!

Yelp
Oh Lenny! I'm so in love with the vibe and plants! I can't wait till you start serving spiked kombucha again, which is initially drew me in to visit you in the first place!(I'm a kombucha fiend) Regardless, I still really enjoyed the drinks and food you had to offer. Parking is ample and spacious, plus plenty of outdoor space if you wanted in enjoy the weather with a furry friend(I hear they are pet friendly) Service was also friendly and efficient. I started with the peach hard cider, which was so delicious, I had 3 The bf had two different beers, the Czech please(Pilsner) & creature of habit(lager) Both, he claims are good but preferred the lager instead due to more of a citrus tone to it. For food, we enjoyed the classic and garlic parm pretzels. Pretzels came out fresh and soft, we also loved the sauces that came with both. I think I found my spiked kombucha and plant heaven! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I came specifically for garlic Parmesan pretzel and watermelon kombucha after tasting someone else's during a comedy show. They both did not disappoint. A great place to meet up with friends or get away by yourself.

Yelp
Big fan of Lenny Boy Brewing--they are one of the best 'event-oriented' breweries (super accessible parking as well). I feel like they have an extremely full events calendar with fun ways of incorporating their Kombucha and Beers into sociable, unique outings. My favorite event of theirs is the Friday night standup comedy (for free!)--it's such a fun evening out, and the space makes it feel like a really intimate, personalized experience. Their bartenders are always super friendly as well--looking forward to spending more time here in the future.

Yelp
I visited on a Sunday during a long weekend and got to enjoy the $3 kombucha-mosas with a side of football. The kombucha flight was excellent as well, surreal to be able to taste such a wild array of fermented drinks. Also a great deal considering kombucha ain't cheap and normally have a "love it or hate it" flavor. The interior decorations in the taproom were very pretty. From the colorful and eclectic art to the contrasting white walls, black pipes and lively green flora. This spot commanded an equally eclectic crowd from young kids to older folks - always of note as this can stir controversy amongst some (young kids at breweries). The bartenders were helpful and laid back. We'll be back soon to try some of the various ongoings that look like a blast!

Yelp
Who loves Kombucha but had the hardest time getting to Lenny Boys to try theirs fresh from the tap??? Me I heard great things about Lenny Boys and that the Kombucha was amazing in the taproom. I saw an IG post from Lenny Boys that said they had a Turmeric Sunrise Kombucha on tap and had to try it. On my visit I had a 3oz pour of that and my friend got a 3oz pour of the Apricot Jam sour ale. I quickly finished my pour and could have drank more but thought about it and we should have gotten a flight. I guess that give me a reason to come back. The Turmeric Sunrise is a mix of turmeric, pineapple, lemon and milk thistle seed. My friends sour ale was a little too much of a beer taste for the both of us. We never finished it. I love that they have posted that "Culture Matters" throughout the taproom. This is very true and very very important in the brewery atmosphere. During our visit they had a painting classes going on , several small groups and even a book club. Everyone had their own space. It wasn't loud and the place was super chill. I absolutely loved it. Yelp
I can't tell you how many ladies night get togethers I've been to at Lenny Boy! Always an awesome experience. Love the space- those beautiful hanging plants!!! And they have ample outdoor seating too. Friendly staff, decent amount of parking space...checks all the boxes for me. Thanks Lenny Boy!

Yelp
Lenny Boy has Saturday morning yoga for $5! I've only been a few times and haven't been disappointed thus far! The class starts at 10am and is roughly 50 minutes long. The class is "beginner" with more difficult moves thrown in. I would recommend taking it easy and not pushing yourself if you are new to yoga. After class is over, you get a free 6oz pour of kombucha! The market lights and atmosphere in the brew area where you do yoga is magical! Be sure to get there early if you have a few friends joining you, otherwise you can typically find a solo spot a few minutes before class. Okay, yoga aside, Lenny Boy offers kombucha, beers, and wild ales. I have been a few times to grab a booch or beer. They have a bunch of different flavors and styles of brews. The kombucha that I have been crushing on currently is the strawberry, vanilla, and lavendar mix. The workers are friendly and there is a local neighborhood brewery vibe here. The parking lot is a good size and there is an overflow lot nearby. The bathrooms are plenty and clean!!! There is a lot of sitting and standing room and typically you don't have to wait more than a few minutes to get helped. Pro tip: follow Lenny Boy on social media, specifically facebook to get information on events and yoga classes.
google avatar

Raquel S.

Yelp
I came here for yoga on Saturday morning ($5 for a 10am vinyasa flow class and you get a 6 oz glass of kombucha afterwards!) There's lots of parking, indoor and outdoor seating, TVs for watching sports, food, beer, wine, and kombucha. Something for everyone! I read in a different review that it was beginner yoga, but I didn't find that to be the case. It was pretty fast paced and more intermediate. The concrete floor was really hard and I have bony knees and a thin mat--bad combination! Next time I will bring a towel to put under my knees! The kombucha was really good. I tried the turmeric one. It's a probiotic drink that's good for gut health and they brew it onsite! I think they have $10 growler refills a couple days a week which is a really great deal.

Yelp
I am definitely a new fan of Lenny Boy. I happened to visit for the first time on a VERY BUSY day for them (ShakeShack pop-up day) yet the staff handled everything very smoothly. The bar area was slammed but the bartenders made sure to greet and take care of everyone. By the time I got there, around 3:00/3:30ish, they stopped serving kombucha flights - BUMMER. However, the bartender gave me samples of every one I wanted. My favorites were/are the ginger and the lavender flavors. After getting my fill of some 'bucha, I ordered the passionfruit gose which was very smooth and tasty. I then went outside and ordered a Buddha bowl from their on-site resident food truck, The Hunter's Wife. Everything was good on all points! They have a patio but it did not appear that big. The day I visited, it was cold and rainy but I can imagine that on a nice day with people and their pets, that space gets tight very quickly. I was struck by how spacious their interior is and it can definitely hold quite the crowd as they did that Saturday. They do have a designated parking lot but it's not that big and fills up quickly. Best bet is to uber/lyft because you'll more than likely be hitting up a nearby spot. Lenny Boy is a place I could definitely hole up in for a few hours and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I have nothing but great things to say about this brewery - they have a wide assortment of different styles, they were super friendly, they had no complaint when I asked for a splash of several I wasn't sure about, and their tasters were all reasonably priced. I got a flight of 6, and everything I tried was at least decent, with the particular standout being the strawberry sour, which was seriously like drinking a really high quality strawberry lemonade, but alcoholic (but everything was pretty good). They also have a crazy number of kombucha variations, which I think is neat, but didn't try any of. I've never heard of any other place having so many kombuchas that you can make your own kombucha taster flight, but you can do that here.
google avatar

Theresa J.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times and really like it. Plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, decent food options, and kombucha! As someone who's not so keen on beer, it's nice to have so many non-beer options. I've done their weekend kombucha+champagne combo but honestly I'm just as happy drinking the kombucha on it's own. I've never been here when they're packed, but the service is always great. Servers are really patient and happy to pour samples as you make a decision. I come back regularly to refill a few growlers. I've eaten here once, and they were able to accommodate a modification to my food which I appreciated. I'm really keen to try the grilled cheese and tomato soup next time I'm there.

Yelp
My husband and I along with 2 friends enjoyed a hot Charlotte Saturday afternoon at Lenny Boy. We sat outside at a table with an umbrella and there was an event for dogs going on so many dogs were present. I really enjoyed the tangerine wit and my husband favored the Tropicalus white IPA. I loved that Lenny Boy has a water spout with glasses for humans and bowls for the pups. What a great atmosphere and excellent prices at $5 a pint.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
We stopped in here specifically to check out the new strawberry sour and we were NOT disappointed. Great venue for groups large or small. We sat at the bar next to someone who ended up having a lot in common with us (we all work for large insurance companies and two of us went to the same university in Maryland 20 years apart). I ended up sampling both the strawberry and blueberry sours and would love to get back to try the other offerings, as well. Plus -- any bar that has on a Harry Potter movie and changes it to Gilmore Girls when it's over wins in my mind.

Yelp
I love this place. I love that it has legitimate non-alcoholic options when you go there. (I'm moderately obsessed with the Good Ol' Ginger kombucha.) I love that it has a parking lot for those of us who are not from the area, as well as both indoor and outdoor seating area. (Indoors you can definitely smell the fermenting kombucha. So, if that smell is too much for you, it's nice to have the outside options.) And, during the Covid-19 pandemic, they gave me a new reason to love them. As all breweries and restaurants were limited to take-away only, they did a phenomenal job setting up their curbside drive through to-go ordering and pick up area in a way that truly meets the needs of social distancing. When you pull into the parking lot, there are arrows and signs directing you to stay to the left and make a u-turn so that you pull up driver-side to their ordering area/tent. Then an employee takes your order on their iPad (while standing at least 6 feet away). The payment process is also zero-touch as you swipe your own credit card into the top of the iPad (without transferring the card to them) and they can select the tip amount (that you choose) on the screen. They also wore gloves just in case they have to touch your credit card (and I imagine they change those if they have touched someone). Then, once the payment is done, they go into the building and assemble your order and offer to put it into the back of your car for you. It was truly a perfect set up and did not spike my anxiety at all (which is the true test). Thank you, Lenny Boy, for taking this pandemic seriously. We will be sure to be back to hand in our growler and obtain a new one (fully sanitized) shortly! (If you bring in one of their growlers, they give you a new growler which they have sanitized instead of filling yours up, but you still get the $3 discount!) In fact, you can bring it back for the discount even if you're placing an order that does not include another growler. :)

Yelp
One of my favorite breweries in Charlotte! Plant vibes indoors give an outdoor feel. Flights are the best way to try all the beers they have. If you're not a drinker but into Kombucha this is the place for you too be a socialite with your buds. I recommend the lavenderade kombucha! Also, you can't get kombucha on a flight unfortunately. They often have events such as the Watermelon Festival event they had on 8/21/21 where they offered watermelon themed drinks and hosted local vendors to shop with! I hadn't been in a while but noticed they added a beautiful new pergola/covering upon arrival. Luckily I got the chance to sit under it because it provided much needed shade on a hot summer day! The watermelon slush was delicious & refreshing! I added some of the watermelon slush to the Not another Seltzer Watermelon to create a watermelon mint seltzer (they should add it to the menu lol). I'm kicking myself for forgetting to stop in the plant room. I was distracted by all the great vendors they had.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Lenny Boy! It's got a lot going for it: Pros: 1) Lot's of parking- just be sure not to miss the parking lot as you're driving. It can be easy to miss off the main road if you're not looking for it. 2) Fun events- They have yoga, comedy nights, trivia, and more! 3) Lot's of seating and nice ambiance. There's a lot of pretty plants hanging from the ceiling and a number of long wooden tables and high barrel tables. 4) They have both kombucha and beer! It's a great place to take a group of people given the selection

Yelp
Got a 6 flight. CitrAphilia- most popular. Light and good. Burn down brown- reminds me of a summer day drinking ice tea. Nice, good, smooth and easy to drink a lot when you are eating BBQ. Booty call- not sure why I got double IPA, when I don't like IPA. Ground up- the one I wanted to get and I was not disappointed!! Taste like a great cold pint of coffee. Smoked stout-still tasing the coffee. Prefer the ground up. Perhaps we should have switched them in our order. Breakfast in heaven- Bourbon barrel and you can smell it. It's sure a nice supper! We should have gotten 6 of these! Dame good!

Yelp
Had my first kombucha here, Lavenderade Kombucha, to be exact. It tasted like massage essential oils and flowers in a drink. Sounds absolutely disgusting, but it was actually refreshing and interesting enough to make me consume the entire glass. Staff was friendly. The outdoor seating allowed us to bring our dog, and they had umbrellas attached to the tables that protected us when it started to rain lightly. They have their own parking lot, so parking was not an issue.

Yelp
I came here on a Friday night to join some friends for a free comedy show. The show was great and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The interior is beautifully decorated with a lot of hanging plants that add to the ambience. I had a fantastic evening, so why don't I give this place a higher score? Well really for two reasons. 1.) The location is tough. It isn't really a close walk to any other nearby breweries or nightlife destinations so if you come here you have to be either committed to staying or be prepared to arrange for a ride to your next location. For some this isn't a big deal but I usually prefer walkability and unfortunately the isolated location on the other side of busy Tryon St. sort of has this place on an island. 2.) I have found it hard to find beers on their menu that I enjoy. I am not a big IPA guy and these seemed to dominate their offerings. They seemed to be kicking a lot of taps so it may have just been an off night but I found my options limited. I tried their Lenny Boy Light thinking at least this is a lighter option than an IPA or double IPA but it wasn't very good. I finally settled in on an American Pale Ale which was quite good. Next time hopefully they will have more available so I can have some options. I should come here more to give this place a chance but because of the location mentioned earlier it isn't often on my radar. I'm glad my friend brought me out here Friday or I wouldn't have thought to come on my own. I will keep them in mind in the future as I try to give love to as many breweries as I can!

Yelp
Lenny Boy is a cool brewery that serves beer and kombucha! What I love is that they are organic! And that you can mix and match any kombucha with any beer and create yo own drink! If you don't know what kombucha is, you should. Basically a fermented tea that is good for you, as in a probiotic that helps keep your stomach gut clean. They also serve food and have weekly specials. The best one, in my opinion, is filling growlers for $10 on Wednesday & Sunday. Things to know: They have their own parking lot. Kid friendly. Dog friendly - only outside now though. They have card games. They do pop up events. They sell their kombucha in most grocery stores. I always return eventually

Yelp
The Magellan is my 2nd favorite beer in the world. (Rivaled only by Burial's Bolo.) And, I've had a lot of beer, people! On top of this delicious spiced brown ale, Lenny Boy is cranking out an impressive rotation of great beers and kombucha. Their new space firmly plants Lenny Boy on my list of favorite breweries in Charlotte. Their old space always felt cramped and dated. No more, party people! The new tap room manages to be huge and warm/inviting all at the same time. If you haven't been by for a beer, or two, or three... Get out there and get yourself a Magellan, stat!

Yelp
Holy crap, what a cute place! We stopped by on a super hot day and are really glad we did. There are plenty of outdoor seating options as well as indoor. We launched inside, noshed on a Parmesan pretzel and sampled the beers. It's a very laid-back vibe with comfortable surroundings and they even have a live plant store. If you're in the area, definitely check it out. If you're not, get in the area.

Yelp
What can I say, I love this brewery. Sure I loved the quaint, mismashed style of the OG (their original brewery) but I also love all the space they have at their new spot. Beer wise, you cannot go wrong sampling a sour ale or two, and my favorite might be the Kentucky creeper or Holy Moly, both with a great sour/tart finish, but smooth drinkability. Their burn down brown is also a favorite of mine, and the sour version is just as delicious (burn down for what) They also have kombucha on tap, which is great for non-beer drinkers, health nuts and those just trying to kill a hangover. It's a fermented tea with tons of probiotics and health benefits. Also, their bartenders (especially Josh, Molly and Ian) are all super wonderful!

Yelp
TLDR: The drinks are sour, wild, and fermented. The food is provided by various food trucks. The space is large and open. If you're a fan of kombucha--this is the place for you. I recommend the good ol ginger.

Yelp
Disclaimer: experience comes Pre-covid I love Lenny Boy because it has numerous options beyond beer (especially non-alcoholic) and it isn't as insanely packed with nowhere to even walk. I love their kombucha (especially the lavenderade) and buy a few extras to bring home. I feel like I'm drinking a beer (oppose to water/soda like other places) when I have the kombucha so it's a good option for people who don't drink or are doing dry January. Part of why I love this place so much is just hanging with friends and playing games. They have a few options there but I've brought card and board games with friends and hung out for hours hanging and drinking without feeling like I was being forced out by either other patrons or the staff. Finally, I've attended a few of their comedy shows they've held over the years and it's always a great different thing they do.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place, and now I'm jealous that I don't have a local kombucha brewery that offers growlers and hosts yoga classes. They also have plenty of real alcoholic beverages available, as well as kombucha-alcohol cocktails in various combinations, such as Prosecco and kombucha. I tried the rose and lavender kombuchas, as well as a blueberry sour ale, and enjoyed them all, especially the rose flavored one. They also have a kombucha with CBD oil, which seems pretty popular. I thought the space was great- a large, spacious tap room with lots of tables and plenty of TVs- would be a great place to watch a game. With so many various brewery choices in Charlotte, this was one of the winners.
