By the waterfront of the Customs House, sits L’Entrecôte in view of MBS. Al fresco sitting was available but my wife and I sat by the windows inside.
Very friendly, funny and knowledgeable staff. We started off with the escargots and we were told to dip the bread (I believe it was sourdough) with the sauce and my it tastes awesome.
Ordered the trimmed steak (medium is quite medium-rare and medium rare will be pretty red as we were informed). We were told that the steak was around 190g, but it feels like at least 220g. My wife and I were pretty full by now and did not request for the extra fries and sauce. The steak was done to our liking; midway between medium and medium rare. Tender and a little fatty, and this is when the legendary sauce comes in (vinegar based I would presume) that helped to balance the very wholesome beefy sensation. The steak was smooth, the fries were crunchy and the fresh greens with walnut and balsamic dressing was flavorful.
Yes we were very full, but didn’t stop there. Went on with the butter caramel lava cake and a slice of apple pie. The caramel was some good stuff there, with a slight tinge of bitterness. This is how we like our caramel rather than some rubbish sugary crap. The apple pie (slice) was huge and the sweet and sour notes were on point. We will be back for sure.
