L'Entrecôte et les Dames

They have a very simple menu formula, bread with butter, salad, and steak/fish with fries. I love the simplicity of it, the steak is delicious especially with their sauce. And you’re able to get seconds on their steak and fries! We tried a few of their desserts as well. I didn’t take a picture but my favorite is their chocolate mousse, since it’s not too sweet!

Great space and amazing restaurant! We tried their menu recommendation which came with salad, steak and fries and also got a wine which was delicious! The salad and the dressing was lovely, the steak was cooked perfectly and went very well with their sauce and crispy fries. We also got a free refill which was pretty amazing. Lastly we got their creme brulee which tasted perfect!!!! Must try

Nice place, great food and service was also quite attentive. Was left waiting for a spot outside even though I was assured the next one. Overall enjoyable experience and kind/attentive staff. Price to quality ratio is also a no-brainer.

The entrecôte was very well prepared and came with a delicious sauce on the side, though the portions were quite small. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to make a reservation for two people and we had to wait an hour to be seated. The service could also be improved our wine glasses were left empty for quite a while, and no one asked if we wanted another drink.

Really delicious food! Went with the salad & entrecote I wanted a medium meat and it was cooked to perfection - really tender & juicy As dessert I went for the Grand Manier Crêpe which was also really really good!

Great venue. Staff were lovely and food was good. Steak was cooked perfectly. Wanted to check it out in London and this venue had no queue and much more chill vibe. Wine pairings were excellent. Only thing less than a 5/5 - Salad course is a bit bland and the 2nd round of steak and chips was smaller.

I had an amazing dinner for my birthday and I couldn’t ask for more: the food is amazing and the atmosfere is lovely! I will come back for sure when I crave a perfectly made piece of meat and crunchy fries. Recomend:)

I love it here. The quality is excellent, the staff are very friendly well trained, and the menu is very simple and easy (for people like me who can never decide). All the desserts I have tried are very good. I wish they could take reservations because sometimes it can be very busy. Their salad is not anything crazy but it makes up for the main dish ;).

I had heard about this place online, and was so stoked when I stumbled across it in Amsterdam. Basically they have a very simple menu of either steak and fries or fish and fries, which comes with salad and bread. The fries are endless and they do give a second helping of the steak! Also the chimichuri sauce is absolutely delicious. I left so full and satisfied.

Amsterdam's take on the classic "Le Relais de l'entrecotte". We walked in around 5:30 on a weekend and were sat straight away. The salad is very similar to le relais but less "mustardy", the fries are crispy, and the steak is flavourful and cooked as ordered. The sauce is much creamier and is more of a mix of a chimichurri and the traditional sauce but I loved it all the same but if you are an aficionado of the traditional just know it will be different. We shared the ile flottante for dessert and it blew us away, so yummy! Service is friendly and attentive, very clean location with great decor.

Love this restaurant! Every time I am back in Amsterdam, I continue to come back here with my friends and coworkers (who knew my favorite French restaurant would be in Amsterdam) It has a great vibe - menu and excellent service! Great menu! My favorite is to pick a fish or steak with frites (french fries), comes with a salad, I always chose the steak -- and waiters offer extra bites of steak at the end if you'd like a bit extra. (They have added additional menu items since my original review 4 years ago and I have not tried as I still believe and hear that these are their original and best!)! They also have great wine here!

Nice place! The only 2 entrees are the steak and a fish filet. Both come with fries and a chimichurri sauce. The steak was cooked well with good flavor. My only complaint would be that I wish there was more of a sear on the steak. We were delightfully surprised though when they came around with seconds of both the steak and the fries!! It was expected but we saw every table was getting offered seconds. The wine was delicious and only $4.50 a glass for the Cote du Rhone. The profiteroles for dessert were 4 star as well.

They do entrecôte or sole with frittes, and they do both well. You start with a butter lettuce salad and then your entree. They refill your entree as many times as needed They do a good job, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable wines were reasonably priced nice job.

What a lovely place! Tried only the sandwich which is simply delicious and comes with a generous and non less delicious green salad. The service was lovely too. Should return to update my review to a 5 stars?

Stopped in for lunch after a busy morning at the museum. We didn't want a long leisurely lunch as we had other exploring to do, but we also wanted a nice relaxing environment. Enter this adorable steakhouse. The restaurant is super cute and cozy on the inside with comfy seating and a light, airy feel. They offer a fixed or a la carte option. Both of us ordered the steak sandwich from the a la carte side. It came on a toasty roll with a side of frites and a side salad. The steak itself was served quite rare (I've noticed that's pretty standard in Europe, but something to note if you aren't used to it) but was tender and juicy. The fries, which were served with mayo (I know...so healthy) were tasty but needed a little more seasoning. The dish also came with a green sauce, the use for which was a little ambiguous. The side salad was a nice surprise with nuts and a zesty citrus dressing. Quite tasty. Service was friendly and attentive.

Very simple menu: you basically pick steak or fish and you get a salad to start out with and then French fries with the meat of your choice. We got steak and it was delicious! Very juicy and tender. And the best part is, it's all you can eat! We finished our plates and then our waitress came by and refilled them with more steak and frites! Excellent meal and for €25 it's a steal. Loved the green sauce that came with it as well. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Amsterdam.

I am a chef and I used to be a butcher. In my professional opinion, if you're going to have the name Entrecôte in the name of your restaurant you damned well better know what it is. This section of the cow has a heavy fat cap on it. This cap should be trimmed to just shy of 2cm for cooking and serving. This fat is what gives such tremendous flavor to the entrecôte. Here, they remove the cap completely, tie it back on for roasting and then serve the steak without any of the fat. Technically, not entrecôte and not a correct use of ingredients.

By Amsterdam standards (no offense), this place is 5 stars. We sat down inside in the front room before hitting up the Van Gogh on a Friday night, it was really beautiful- high ceilings. Got delicious perfect mojitos, loved the salad/dressing too. Steak was amazing, and the creme brulee actually did live up to the hype. 2 meals, a few cocktails and dessert for just over 100 euro, yes please.

Eat here. It's GREAT! I came here with two other people on a Wednesday night. The place was fairly full, but we were able to get a table without having to wait. The menu is very small: basically you choose between steak, and fish. You get a salad before your main course, and then the whichever meat you ordered comes with a side of fries. The salad is tasty, but the main course is the real highlight. I ordered the steak medium-rare, and it was perfectly cooked, tender, and all around delicious. My mouth is watering as I type this. The fries are also crispy, yet soft inside, plus the sauce they come with is a perfect compliment to both the meat, and the fries. And each time you get towards the end of your chunk of meat the server offers to being you more, and the fries are also seemingly bottomless. It's like a very upscale, classy all-you-can-eat buffet. This place isn't inexpensive, and you should wear a nice dress/button-up and slacks/something fancier than jeans and a t-shirt here: it's definitely a date night spot, and well worth getting snazzy for.

A really cool place on the inside - two levels - typical of Amsterdam. They only serve a couple of dishes for lunch and dinner. I got a lunch portion of steak with French fries and it was pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but it was very satisfying on an afternoon we had spent sightseeing. Right around the corner from the Van Gogh Musuem and Rijksmuseum.

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and have always had an enjoyable experience. However, tonight was not pleasant. Myself and three others arrived around 18:20. We were told that we could not be accommodated for dinner until 19:20. We were told to go to a bar and to come back around 19:15. Which we did. At 19:20 we arrived and was then informed by Rameil, our party could be accommodated until 20:20. " It is a first come first service restaurant." We were then asked if we would like to be placed onto a waiting list. How insulting! Where was the waiting list @ 18:20? Why was this not offered as an option 18:20? I am very sadden that I will not be going back to this restaurant due to the poor customer service from the front door staff. Like stated great restaurant...poor service from the front door staff.

Love this place. The prix fixe setup allows for a no-pressure ordering situation, and once you realize that the Creme Brûlée is the only dessert way to go, all you need to decide on is the wine! Enjoy!!

I might not eat meat out, but the fact that my family has come back to l'Entrecote et les Dames on a second trip to Amsterdam must be a testament to something. This place is fun because the system is so simple. great salad, steak or fish.... and then be best part. SECONDS. or thirds even. A great dinner in Amsterdam, if off the beaten path a bit.

Really nice and cozy restaurant. Two options as menu: steak or fish with salad and fries. I ordered steak and it was delicious and the fries too! The steak comes with a creamy butter+herbs sauce that tastes like heaven!! Good service and really good in terms of price-quality!

Excellent experience, the menu was set; only needed to decide fish or meat. (Steak) the service was great. I like the idea of ordering wine and only paying for what you drink! Salad was superb, which made expectations for the main very high. The main was ok. But when you serve French fries, everything is awesome. :) I would definitely come back again. Great value.
