Leo's at the Castle

Sorry to say but very underwhelming! Firstly dining area in the restaurant was very hot and unpleasant. The starters ordered were enjoyed. The mains, very disappointing! 3 ordered Springbuck and under seasoned, chewy (even though medium rare) and the risotto undercooked. The beef fillet was also under seasoned but worse was the Dauphinoise potato which was stone cold and chilled and runny. To be fair I had to spit it out. A replacement was offered after we had to search for any serving staff and then my wife waited 30 minutes for the replacement. Another 15 minute wait for the bill and 2 and a half hours later the nightmare was over. The highlight was the stunning sunset views over Windhoek, pity about the food and service. Would find another local restaurant and skip the overpriced food and disappointing service.

Overwhelmed by this stunning view we ordered the springbok and beef fillet. Both dishes were tender and flavorful! Presentation was excellent as well as the service staff. The beer was excellent as well 😉

Amazing place for a top class meal. Great views for sundowners. Menu with limited but excellent quality dishes. The wine list is the main attraction with many rare wines on offer. A definite treat for any wine lover.

We have been out for Dinner at Heinitzburg on Jan 31. This was our second time there and it was terrific. No need to loose a word about the spectacular sunset - especially in rain season. The service is one of the best ones in Windhoek and the food complies to that. We had oysters that came with a home made red radish cream (never had this before and very, very nice), followed by a very well cooked steak. A wonderful evening to remember and definitely not the last time there!

we had lunch and got really disappointed about how the meals were served and about the bad quality. Because of the nice location, the prices and good menu we expected something better. Hopefully we don’t get food poisoning:/ staff was friendly until they recognized we hadn’t enjoyed our lunch.

We arrived at the restaurant for lunch and were surprised to find there were two different menus. Apparently, there was a “light lunch” menu with cheaper options, which we were not informed about. When the waiter asked about the tip, we explained that we were disappointed because our neighbors had received a different menu than we had. Unfortunately, instead of addressing our concerns professionally, his response was rather immature and unhelpful. It left us feeling quite uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the service.

Nice menu with an extraordinary view over Windhoek. Had for anlight lunch Springbok Carpaccio. Under a blue sky and that impressive panorama: just marvellous.

Easy 5 stars. Fantastic quirky atmosphere. Very European. Stellar service. Had some good vegetarian options. The risotto was a bit odd though. Too much risotto and not enough blue cheese.
