I absolutely love this place. I'm definitely not a sushi connoisseur, but it is some of the best sushi I have had. What makes it so good also is the creativity put into it.
The place is located in a tiny strip mall in the south end of New Milford by the post office. Be careful driving in that lot though because it's loaded with potholes. The place is small also with about 4 seats at the sushi bar and maybe 10 tables in the restaurant. It's super clean the beautiful inside though.
I always go for lunch so I never spend more than $10, but what I've had has been outstanding!
Kimchi Tofu Soup ($2): simple yet so tasty! I order this almost every time I go. Not spicy though. I don't think they add any spice besides the already seasoned kimchi. It literally just has broth, kimchi, and little cubes of tofu in it.
Miso Soup ($1.50): traditional and delicious as expected. No complaints.
Wonton Soup ($2): this is the best Wonton Soup I've ever had! The wonton wrappers are super thin and the broth is amazing. Garlicky goodness!
Sweet Potato Roll (seaweed outside) ($2): another thing I have to get almost every single time. I love these because you get the sweet from the potato, the salty from the soy sauce and seaweed, then the spice from the wasabi. Divine!
California Roll ($4): standard California roll. Delicious.
Shrimp Tempura Crunchy Roll ($7): had this my last visit and it's amazing! Shrimp Tempura and cucumbers wrapped in seaweed with the rice on the outside, drizzled with spicy mayo, then topped with fizzled crunchy onions and tempura cruchies! I can't wait to try the other crunchy rolls! Amazing!
Bamboo Roll with Tuna ($7): tuna (can get eel or salmon) with cucumber, wrapped in seaweed, rice outside, topped with avocado. So fresh and yummy!
Japanese Rice bowl with Vegetable Tempura, Egg, and onions ($7): delicious as well! Personally I needed more so I ordered the Kimchi Tofu Soup with it, but I'm a pig. Everything was cooked perfectly though. Ask for the spicy dumpling sauce to drizzle on it. Makes it even better!
As you can see, the prices are outstanding! You can get a lot for $10 at lunch.
Please check this place out and support them. Family owned. Nin, the wife is SUPER sweet too.
The only real negative is that they don't deliver. Maybe they'll start with Uber Eats though.
Also, even though not a huge negative, they get busy. Really busy weekend nights. Always call in your orders (even at lunch). Great food takes time to make! They will call you when it's ready. Usually I order from my office in Hackensack and she quotes 10-15 minutes. I always get the call as I'm parking.
