I’ve stayed here a number of times before, but always in a superior/ executive room. This time I was in a standard double and there is a marked difference in the experience.||Positives- check in, done online, was extremely swift and friendly. Lifts were readily available. The location of the hotel is so convenient if you are travelling by train. Wi-Fi was free and did not drop out.||Areas to work on: I was assigned room 203, which was an accessible room though this was not needed or requested. The bathroom had definitely seen better days. The shower gel and shampoo were in fixed containers beside the bath, and were, quite frankly, disgusting. They had black gunk around the dispensers and looked as if they had not been serviced for a long time. The room was also an interconnecting one, again not requested. Usually this is not a problem, but I found that the noise travelled a lot from next door, meaning I could clearly hear conversations very late into the night. In fact the corridor was noisy until after midnight. The TV was small considering the size of the room, and many channels were not available due to weak signal.||I would stay here again based on the positives, however I would definitely pay to upgrade to a better quality room.

Staff often make the difference and they certainly did on this visit. The very efficient, friendly and immaculately turned out receptionist started things off. Union square was exceptionaly busy so unusually for us we decided to eat in the hotel bar. So glad we did! my wife ordered a spiced dish on the special menu, after asking if it was really spicy the barman suggested he add a note to the order. Within a few minutes the chef came through to speak with us and dicsussed the dish. After which my wife changed her order. I ordered a fully loaded pizza, to be honest not expecting too much. Well, I was wrong, this was one of the best pizzas I have eaten! Samuel, the barman has to be mentioned as someone who I could see spoke wonderfully with all guests and looked like he went that little extra than you normally get. Our breakfast the next day was also really very good with again friendly, smiling staff. Great visit, made by staff, thank you!

We stayed here after an evening out in Aberdeen. Good location as so central and next to bus and train stations. I opted for an executive room and asked for a high floor to avoid traffic noise - this request was granted as we were on floor5. |Lovely clean room with safe , coffee maker , kettle , biscuits, Flat screen TV and fridge with complimentary water and 2 cans Pepsi max .Comfy bed .Free WiFi.|Breakfast buffet adequate , but could be improved as there was no yogurt nor fruit purée to put in it .|Pleasant staff and easy check in and out on line .|Would def stay here again.

Good location, next to mall and both bus and train station. As we are staying during the winter, a warm room is important for comfy stay. However, we are not able to control the heat function from the room as it is managed by the hotel reception (which is fine, just a call away). However, the heating system is disappointing due to heater kept turning off automatically frequently during daytime, making it impossible to keep the room warm. Reception is helpful but making numerous calls daily is annoying.

This hotel scores highly for being at the heart of the city within the Union Square development. Arriving by bus, coach or train and you don't even have to go outdoors to check-in at this large hotel. The bar/dining area off Reception is also popular with shoppers as well as residents. The only meal not served there is breakfast - this happens at the back of the hotel in a large well laid out section. Bedroom corridors are bright and have smart carpets, while the actual bedrooms are poorly lit with functional carpets. The central location of the hotel does mean some bedrooms will suffer from a bit of external noise. The biggest issue and it's been mentioned by other reviewers, is the bedroom air con/heating. In theory guests should be able to set the controls to their own personal preference, but in practice the hotel has isolated this function and set the units to automatic. I'd to visit Reception a few times during my stay and I can't fault the very helpful young man who fought the system from his PC and got me heat on my 1st night. On the 2nd night I'd to rely on the portable fan heater he gave me as a Plan B. The bed was super comfy, as were the pillows and cosy duvet. The bedside lights though were very dim.

We had a very enjoyable three day stay in the Leanardo. ||It's location is close to both the Railway and Bus station, and the main entrance is on the upper level of the Union Square Shopping Centre. The Tivoli Theatre is just across the road from the hotel and the Trinity Shopping Centre and Union Street is within easy walking distance.||Our room was comfortable and perfectly adequate. The bar/dining area was light and airey with views of Guildry Street and nearby buildings.||We had one meal that was most enjoyable, and the menu had varied dining options. Prices for both our meal and our accommodation were not cheap but not unreasonable.||My main praise is for the staff. Great friendly service from everyone we met with special thanks to the housekeeping staff who tended to our room and the very helpful 'Oggie' on reception.|| |

Stayed 2 nights with my daughter while exploring Aberdeen for University place. Fantastically situated right next to Rail Station and Bus Station. Situated within Shopping Mall with good shops nearby open late and bars/eateries open even later. Staff were friendly and welcoming and informative. Room was clean, beds were comfy with ample pillows! Good shower pressure. Some light noise but you are in the middle of the city. Breakfasts were really good - fresh hot items and a huge selection of cold/bakery items. Ate in the restaurant 1 of the nights and the pizza was probably one of the nicest I've had. Drink choice at Bar was OK- would have loved a few cocktail options though! Would recommend and definitely stay again.

Wonderful experience with Leonardo Hotel, Aberdeen. The staff were most helpful and friendly. Accommodation was excellent, room was clean and well equipped with a lovely view overlooking the city and docks. Breakfast was excellent also. Check in and out was ready and quick, both were fine online. We look forward to our next stay.

Yelp
Given the hotel is part of the Union Square complex that is attached to the train station, Jury's Inn are very accommodating of Cally Sleeper customers - they let me check in at 8am for no additional charge. Very pleased with that service and I would stay there again purely on that point alone. My room was of a big size. It was set up as a double and single but booked for single occupancy so tons of space. The bathroom was very noisy (plumbing?) which might bother some. Given I had checked in early, I was grateful for any room and as the noise didn't bother me, I didn't say anything. Similarly, the main light didn't work, however there were four other lights so I wasn't fussed. Room came with an iron and ironing board - the ironing board cover was far too thin (pretty common with hotels) but there were enough towels that I could pop one under the cover to plump it up. TV was adequate, tea and coffee making facilities available (and an ice machine outside the room down the corridor) but no biscuits. Shower gel, soap and shampoo all provided, but the shampoo was very harsh and I would recommend bringing your usual brand. The breakfast is glorious and this is where the hotel picks up more brownie points. For £10 you have your choice of fry up (all the usual including some excellent pork sausages), cold cuts (continental), cereal, French pastries, fruit segments/chopped watermelon, bread, tea, coffee and fruit juice. I didn't need lunch on any day. On the whole, this is a pretty average hotel, however it has a great location, great breakfast, friendly staff and really comfy beds (I had the best night's sleep in a long time). Whilst it may "only" be a three, this is where I will look to stay first next time I'm in the city.

Yelp
The good: A quite good 7 story affair in the middle of town. Nice bar and restaurant. Its located in an upscale mall with lots and lots of food choices, including - seriously, a gourmet food shop - quite incredible really. Remind me to tell you sometime about Scottish oatmeal wafers topped with a sliver of 72% dark chocolate and dipped in organic cherry yogurt. Plus...its connected with the rail in Aberdeen, so getting to and from destinations near and far is as simple as a train and a bus - incredible really. Plus plus...service is ultra friendly and accommodating: gotta love those Scottish accents! The bad: Why, you might be wondering is this not a 4 or a more likely (according to my off balance grading scale) 5 star. Well, I'll tell you why: The shower curtain stinks. Yeah - its musty. Surely the staff and management of the hotel have noses? I'll stay here again, but cmon' people, get this fixed please.

Yelp
Hotel looks nice enough but staff isn't very friendly and they only have really stiff pillows with no softer ones. Was tempted to rip half the stuffing out of one of them so I could get a decent nights sleep. Worst hotel I've ever been to in terms of sleeping comfortably. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this hotel while lost in Scotland (driving tour with Google Maps didn't go so well - Aberdeen is one confusing place to roam!) The shopping mall that's connected is great, everything to choose from. I'm told this is very much a college-town, lots of universities and people in their 20s. A few bars nearby as well. Hotel served its purpose (we needed a very last-minute place to sleep), but otherwise, it was nothing special. No WIFI in our room, I think we had to use it in the lobby. Room was fine, again, nothing special. And the hotel bar didn't really "match" the hotel. And breakfast was expensive, I recommend going to a cafe in the mall instead of eating at the hotel. Glad we had somewhere to sleep, but I probably wouldn't go back.

Yelp
'Generic' sums up this six year old hotel in central Aberdeen. It's perfectly functional, but don't expect many frills or anything fabulous. The best thing about this place is its location, right on top of the Union Square shopping mall, where there's a Cineworld, 20+ restaurants open until 10pm-ish, and 40ish shops open till 8pm during the week. As with all hotels in Aberdeen it's expensive, you'd pay 30% less for the same standard of hotel in Glasgow, Manchester or Birmingham. The rooms are a good size, modern, spotlessly clean. The beds are comfy, there's extra pillows n blankets in the wardrobe, along with the obligatory ironing board. You'll also find a flat screen with 20ish free channels, there's free basic wi-fi (book online for complimentary upgrade to super fast wi-fi, perfect for Netflix!). You'll find some basic toiletries and plenty of towels in the bathroom, and the shower's great. There are no mini bars, but there are ice machines in the hallways, I'd stock up on bottled water (or booze) across the street at the Sainsbury's Local. The buffet breakfast offers a good selection (inc. haggis!), but expect to serve yourself, there's no waitress service not even for drinks. Room service is odd too, order from your room, but collect form the restaurant on the ground floor (so not really room service). This place is also handy if you're travelling by train, the stations right next door to Union Square. So all in all its ok, nothing wrong with it, a generic business mans hotel. Oh, no gym either.
