"Florence's Most Famous Son Even with all the noted thinkers, artists, politicians, and powerful families who’ve called Florence home, Leonardo da Vinci is arguably the city’s most famous son. This homage focuses less on his artwork and more on Da Vinci’s forward-thinking inventions and theories. The exhibits are separated into five themes, with each including models based on Da Vinci's instructions. The Earth section includes pieces like printing machines and an oil press; Water has hydraulic saws and water floats; Fire boasts military artillery inspired by the Atlantic Codex; Air has Da Vinci’s parachute, flying machine, and "winged man" paragliding prototype; and Mechanisms includes items based on Da Vinci’s codexes, to demonstrate their principles. Most items are hands-off, but kids will have fun learning how to operate the rotating crane and other models. Most of the pieces are made of wood, so you really get a feel for their bones—and for Da Vinci’s genius."
So much fun, highly recommend! For kids and adults alike, it's worth visiting. The machines are so interesting and help one to understand the laws of statics and dynamics in a fun and kinesthetic way. There were more than enough things to interact with that although the museum was busy, we were never waiting in line for anything. We read everything and interacted with all exhibits (including getting way too into building things) and took about 1.5 hours. My husband and I both had a great time, I recommend this to anyone.

This is a super fun interactive museum! It’s not only great for kids, but for the whole family! We really enjoyed checking out all of the cool inventions around the museum, and learning about the life of Leonardo Da Vinci. If you’re looking for something to do in Florence, this is the perfect activity.

Visiting the Leonardo Interactive Museum was one of the highlights of our trip! The museum offers a perfect blend of education and entertainment, bringing Leonardo da Vinci’s genius to life in the most engaging way. The interactive models of his inventions were not only fascinating but also hands-on, making it a memorable experience for both adults and children.
It was amazing to see how far ahead of his time Leonardo was – from flying machines to war devices, everything was so thoughtfully explained and displayed. The museum staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the layout made it easy to explore at our own pace.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Florence – whether you're a history buff, a tech enthusiast, or just curious, this museum truly makes learning fun!

I found this place by chance on my way to see the statue of David but I'm so glad I got to see this place. I love Leonardo da Vinci, his ingenuity, curiosity and thirst for knowledge so I spent hours here learning as much as I can about this great man.
It's an interactive museum so it's more than a traditional art gallery or museum. This place isn't as famous as the other art galleries or museums in Florence but it has its charm.
If you love Leonardo da Vinci or the renaissance period then come to the interactive museum.

Great place for kids to blow off some steam and learn a few things about Leonardo Da Vinci'd inventions - I did too myself. Would recommend for at least 7 years and up. Small place but interesting. Spent a little over an hour here. Recommend to get advanced tickets online for timed entry.

This was a last minute decision to visit the museum and we weren’t disappointed. The exhibition was fun even for adults.
Whilst we were there, there was a school educational outing so it did became rather cramped, but it was great to see the kids having so much fun and learning at the same time.

It's interesting and fun to see how some of these inventions work. We spend a around 2 hours just looking around the machines reading the prompts, and overall having a great time. It's worth nothing that not every machine is something that Leonardo built in reality. Most of them come from his scketch books. We had a reservation for a given hour and did not had to wait at all.
