"Florence's Most Famous Son Even with all the noted thinkers, artists, politicians, and powerful families who’ve called Florence home, Leonardo da Vinci is arguably the city’s most famous son. This homage focuses less on his artwork and more on Da Vinci’s forward-thinking inventions and theories. The exhibits are separated into five themes, with each including models based on Da Vinci's instructions. The Earth section includes pieces like printing machines and an oil press; Water has hydraulic saws and water floats; Fire boasts military artillery inspired by the Atlantic Codex; Air has Da Vinci’s parachute, flying machine, and "winged man" paragliding prototype; and Mechanisms includes items based on Da Vinci’s codexes, to demonstrate their principles. Most items are hands-off, but kids will have fun learning how to operate the rotating crane and other models. Most of the pieces are made of wood, so you really get a feel for their bones—and for Da Vinci’s genius."
SO fun, and utterly amazing. I was in awe of Da Vinci's genius before, but I had no idea they scope of his creative inventiveness. Nor did I know that most of his designs were never created, because the technology to do so hadn't yet been invented.
Great for kids and adults!

So interactive, visual and educational. I love that it shows more of his engineering and academic side rather than just his art (Which is amazing to). Great activity to do with children also. The fee is reasonable and the staff are friendly. We just turned up without prior booking and there was no problem.

This was the only interactive museum I've ever seen. It was fantastic getting to see the machines created by Leonardo DaVinci and actually getting to play with them! I had no idea just how many modern machines are based on his original designs. Very affordable entry tickets with no line to speak of. A great educational experience for kids as well!

If you kids loves hands on, it’s a great place to occupy their time as they are allowed to touch all the stations and have a place to build things. Takes about an hour. You will need your own phone and headphones to listen to the stations.

So much fun, highly recommend! For kids and adults alike, it's worth visiting. The machines are so interesting and help one to understand the laws of statics and dynamics in a fun and kinesthetic way. There were more than enough things to interact with that although the museum was busy, we were never waiting in line for anything. We read everything and interacted with all exhibits (including getting way too into building things) and took about 1.5 hours. My husband and I both had a great time, I recommend this to anyone.

It's very interesting, discovering that Leonardo was so much more than an artist. So many things he invented, a lot of it was quite unexpected for us.
We liked the hands on displays.
There were lots of families there with children who ask sensed to be loving the experience.

The museum was amazing. I loved learning about Leonardo da Vinci's inventions. He was a true genius. It is inspiring to see what one man was able to imagine and then develop. He was a mechanical engineer in addition to his artistic talents. We learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I didn’t quite know what to expect before visiting the this interactive museum. Yes, there were the usual biographical details for Leonardo, as well as examples of his scientific and artistic work. But what I really loved were the many examples of his designs and inventions brought to life. Not all of them were practical but many were. My pick for the most useful was the ball bearing assembly because it is ubiquitous now.
I heartily recommend this museum for all ages from intelligent primary school kids to old codgers like me.
