Leone Blu Suites (Florence, Tuscany) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Florence is rich with treasures, many of them shared with the public: Ricasoli Palace, a part of the city’s history since the 15th century, is now a boutique-style luxury hotel, doing business as Leone Blu Suites, under the UNA Esperienze banner. With a mere nine suites it’s still more palazzo than hotel, and each one is stylistically entirely distinct from the others, combining modern luxuries with antique furnishings, objects, and artworks. The riverside location, on the Piazza Carlo Goldoni, is a prominent one, convenient to both the old city center and the south bank of the Arno." - Tablet Hotels

Wow! What a place, so unique and steeped in history. It is part of a palace that dates back to 1474 (if I recall correctly) that has been converted into a very special boutique hotel. Each room is unique with a name of a significant person. Our room was on two levels with the bedroom upstairs and balcony looking below. We had a stunning view over the Arno, and a small window like in Room with a view, but stunning double height from the salon part. ||I cannot fault the staff, absolutely wonderful. Andrea gave us lots of recommendations and Anastasia has so much history knowledge of the building. Take time to talk to them you will be missing out if not. They must give the same advice all the time, but it does not feel that way. It feels like they truly care about you personally. ||The lounge and breakfast rooms are beautiful too. We were shown a couple of the other rooms which looked amazing too. The whole place is full of character. ||As an old building there will be a few compromises eg the lift is at a snail’s pace and apparently the aircon is not as efficient perhaps but we were toasty warm for Nov. ||I liked the separate dressing/wardrobe area and coffee nook in our room||Cannot recommend this place more highly. I don’t agree with any of the negative reviews I’ve seen. I would return here for sure. Definitely recommend for couples.

Beautiful Hotel of 9 rooms! We were welcomed with Sparkling wine, a private tour and introduction to the hotel along with it's history. The rooms were comfortable, very spacious, and had a great view over the river. Modern conveniences, clean room, and breakfast each day topped off our stay for a few nights. Conveniently located, we couldn't have chosen a better spot!

My husband and I were very excited to stay in this accommodation - given its history, we thought it would be a very special stay. The place is indeed very unique and we enjoyed the spacious and artistic room. However, our experience was tainted on our last day of the stay. In the morning, as we were headed out for our last stroll of Florence, we were followed by one of the cleaners to the entrance of the accommodation to ask for tips. We know that there isn't a tipping culture in Italy (and we're from a country where tipping is not part of our culture). Feeling quite uncomfortable that we were being followed out of the accommodation for tips, when we were asked how our stay was when we were checking out, we noted the incident to the receptionist. The receptionist was quick to suggest that it was a misunderstanding and that the cleaner had wanted to check whether we were checking out. We reiterated that this wasn't the case - that she had in fact followed us out and asked for tips. The receptionist reluctantly noted our complaint and apologised. As we left the accommodation after checking out, the same cleaner followed us out yet AGAIN pressuring/harassing/insisting on tips - to which we told her again that we don't tip. Thank goodness it was our final day of the stay. Otherwise, we would have felt incredibly uncomfortable continuing to stay at the accommodation given these incidents. I don't enjoy writing poor reviews but felt it was important to note for anyone considering this accommodation. We don't want anything from the hotel either but think that the hotel should be aware of how this kind of behaviour is unprofessional/inappropriate and cause discomfort for future guests. For this reason, we give it 2 stars as we didn't feel comfortable being followed and harassed out of the accommodation for tips - and will not be returning to this accommodation if we were back in Florence.

Choosing this hotel was the BEST decision we made for our visit to Florence. The location and comfort of the rooms were perfection, and what made our experience extra special was the staff. I am talking WORLD CLASS customer service. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff of this hotel. They were kind and friendly and went above and beyond to help us have a wonderful stay. I will never stay anywhere else and will recommend this hotel to anyone I know planning to visit Florence. 10/10

From the initial welcome to our departure, the stay at Leone Blu was a truly special one. Our split room with a view was just incredible and truly romantic. Breakfast was the best we have ever eaten in a hotel and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. Everywhere was easy to walk to and the hotel was superbly located. We just wished we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely be back!!

What a unique hotel in Florence. A historic private residence, centuries old, the second floor renovated into 9 different hotel rooms. Large rooms and comfortable beds. Centrally located in the city on the river and easy to find. The lounge and rooms are full of beautiful art work and staff was incredible. Best place we stayed in Italy. We stayed at three different UNA hotel group locations.

Wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. Beautiful rooms (our had a perfect view over the arno) and common areas, including a great honor bar, good breakfasts, and especially lovely staff, who are super helpful. Can't wait to stay again!

We stayed one night here on our way through to Umbria and absolutely loved it. We were upgraded to one of the suites, which was very generous — beautifully appointed, spacious, and full of character. The location couldn’t be better: right by the Arno, just across the bridge from the heart of the old town. We walked straight into the historic centre and spent the evening exploring local restaurants, bars, and a market that had a great atmosphere.||The suite was a renovated room in a 15th-century palazzo, with a really unique feel — a mix of art deco touches, historic paintings, and classical statues. A little dated in parts, but that just added to the charm and authenticity of the place. You really feel the history of the building.||The staff were polite, attentive, and clearly take pride in the place. Breakfast was excellent — fresh, high quality, and served in the Hall of Mirrors, which is a beautiful space (see photos). There’s also an honesty bar in the dining room, with wine and spirits available any time, and the prices were very reasonable.||Would absolutely recommend if you’re after something more special and character-filled than a standard hotel.
