We were visiting our son and he suggested this restaurant as it's one of his favorites. We loved the ambience as soon as we walked in. The food was fantastic. The drinks were spot on! Service was fantastic. Don't miss your opportunity to go here if you're in town.

Lenore’s is yet another great restaurant put out by the Swan family. Their food is fantastic and the restaurant vibe is great. My only complaint with this place is that we had a table of 4 people and they sat us at the table right in front where the door is, which is not only not big enough for 4 people to sit, but for a Saturday night was very crowded because of the bar crowd that stands in front of your table, and it was 12 degrees out so every time someone opened the door we were frozen. I’d go back, but hate that table setup and would prefer they get rid of both tables in front.

Google
This was our third time to Leonore's, the food is always amazing and their rotating seasonal menu keeps everything fresh and new every visit! The cocktails are amazing and the staff took great care of us.

The service here is amazing. I been there a few time on different occasions. The crew here is friendly and well informed on the menu and what to offer. The bartender are world class with homie vibe. The food: I was not a fan of the entrée. The infusions were a bit much for me. But it’s an fusion restaurant you get what you ask for. Even though I sent my food back to chef. They didn’t charge the food for both of us. The server even offered a shot on the house. After that i found a few appetizers I like and eat those with my drinks. I’m not a fan of pork but the pork belly is soooo amazing! 9/10 The bartenders are so well directed with flavors. They really find the aesthetics in blends. The selections from Japanese whiskey to Jamaican rums is dope. They are mavens of their craft. Flow is crafts pairs I wouldn’t think would work, however I become a fan of the flavor.

Just a door on the outside and it may not look like much, but this place is absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was intimate and great. My favorite item was the papaya salad, although the lamb shank was also tender and delicious. Our drinks had very interesting flavors and were quite tasty. The plates here are meant for sharing, but the food is plentiful. We will definitely be back.

Google
Awesome Thai-inspired cozy little restaurant on Park that compliments the Swan family of restaurants perfectly. Although small, it packs a powerful menu and even more potent cocktail bar. The service was wonderful and the food was great. Highly recommend you make reservations.

Google
We had a reservation celebrating a special occasion. We were seated, but didn't have anyone serve us for 20-25 minutes, until my partner flagged down wait staff. They were super apologetic and immediately took our whole order, and comped our drinks! Clearly it was a fluke in what was otherwise a phenomenal meal with very hospitable and professional staff. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious and it was especially neat to sit at the kitchen bar and watch everything be prepared.

Google
Went here over the summer and forgot to leave a review! This place is awesome - from the ambiance to the food to the service! We each had a cocktail - these were good, but nothing mind-blowing. The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The creamy coconut rice was 10/10 - so delicious! I could eat multiple bowls. It is recommended that you order multiple plates to share - in total, we had three dishes and one dessert which was plenty for two people. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
TLDR; Loved it. Will be back. I recommend aligning your expectations before going (budget, eating style, being open to the experience) Context: I just moved to Rochester and have been itching to explore the food scene once my budget allowed. Leonore's was the first place I picked on a whim; it was after Thanksgiving, and I wanted something NOT similar to all the holiday food I was having. I knew nothing about this place other than it was a Thai restaurant and my friend was down to try it with me. Vibe: Walking in, I could tell the night was going to be wonderful, but expensive! The vibe immediately gives it away -- unique architecture, thoughtfully dimmed lighting, and the staff clearly well trained and happy to be there. The host greeted us immediately and was wonderful, explaining how things run (family style is encouraged bc food comes out as it's ready); this was a win bc I love splitting and planned on it anyway! This place is perfect for a date, or an evening with friends. Our waitress was also a joy to have. Food + drink: The eggrolls, glass noodle dish, and cocktail w/ coconut water and rum (forgot the exact names) all induced the "this is yummy happy dance." (IYKYK) Rating rationale: I'm a foodie who has learned a certain flexibility/openness when trying new places. Leading with this: Leonore's was a cozy place to hang with a friend while we consumed delicious food + drink. Everything seemed high quality. There's a service charge on the bill -- I didn't see an explanation anywhere for this and it was only $1-2, so I didn't ask about it--this lack of transparency/communication docked the score. I also wish the portion sizes were a tiiiiiny bit bigger for what you're paying.

Yelp
Growing up in Portland has made me fairly picky with what I call good food, but Leonore's was able to deliver on that front. While a bit on the pricier side, it was worth it for the flavor that the food provided. I had their twist on pad Thai with prawns and it was delicious - the glass noodles were an interesting choice, but with the additional flavors in the meal it worked well together. The space is very small, so grab a reservation if you're wanting to eat in - otherwise takeout and strolling park ave is always a nice option as well.

Yelp
Ambiance is awesome. Drinks were ok. Food was aiight. The drink menu around opening a year or so ago was better!

Yelp
We showed up a few minutes before business hours but they graciously sat us. Our waiter was on the new side and he was a real pleasure to banter with. The food was well portioned for shareable items. One of us ordered a drink and it was super flavorful. I'd go again. The leftovers were great!

Yelp
Great presentation of cocktails super unique and balanced drinks! My cocktail was so good next time I come back I'm going to order the same same. The atmosphere is so warm and cozy, almost like a catacomb. Pork belly is like no other I've had. Friendly and attentive servers P.S. forks are available, don't panic

Yelp
This place has a very weird vibe. When we walked in it seemed pretty cool! They used Nalgene bottles on the tables as refills and the staff was causally dressed and it has a very neat interior design. I assumed the prices would be modest and I was very wrong! This place is crazy expensive! Like ridiculously expensive. When I saw $20+ for an hour entree I assumed they would be big enough to share. They are not. The food was good but they are charging an absurd price for what you get. I posted a picture of my hand next to a plate to show the size of food you get for $25. The dish in the picture came with maybe 5 or 6 pieces of tofu. You can buy a block of tofu which is about 10 times the amount than what they serve for $2-$3. This would be a very cool place if they figure out the vibe. Do you want to be fancy and charge high prices? Change out the nalgenes and plastic chop sticks! You want to be a casual place with fun cocktail? Lower the prices or increase the portions! Their kitchen is small so the plates come out when they are ready. So you either have to share everything that comes out I would fine with that if the portions were shareable, or you have to wait for your food to get cold so the rest of the table gets their food, or eat before everyone gets their food. It doesn't make sense.

Yelp
We tried Leonore's on Park Ave. tonight! It's a Thai restaurant from the same people that do Vern's, ROUX, and Dorado. It did not disappoint. In fact, it might be our new favorite! For those that travel, it's definitely got PDX gourmet street cart mixed with Pok Pok Thai vibes. Everything is shareable and outrageously good. Cozy and fun atmosphere. The food is next level. The service was also outstanding. Our server was so helpful and she was fun to chat with. The experience ticked all the requisite boxes: tasty, interesting, cozy, friendly, fun, and comforting. We will be back!!! We are so glad this is here in Rochester!

Yelp
Leonore's is quite good. The space is tiny and tight, but it's outfitted pleasantly, with wrap-around seating at the bar and a small dining room behind. The staff is quite pleasant and attentive, and it's fun to watch food prep take place in the open kitchen. Cocktails are good, strong, and Asian-inspired, and the Thai fusion dishes on the menu are made well with excellent flavors. In particular I enjoyed the panang short rib. The kabob a basque cheesecake is a pleasant dessert for two to share. Leonore's takes reservations and it's advisable to make one if you plan to go. Because things are tight it can be hard to hear one's dining companion(s) as the flow becomes more bustling, so I wouldn't consider this an ideal spot for a group. Whether parking on or around Park Ave is a pain is in the eye of the driver. Pay parking is available a half block away, should that feel more convenient.

Yelp
Well after reading reviews and thoughts of others I was slightly apprehensive to go visit. Now this is part of what I will call "The Swan Family Empire of Restaurants" in the Park Avenue area. I've been to there other places and I like them. I think people are not sure about this place, is it this or that. To be frank it's an Asian/East Asian Fusion place. It's not authentic it's a fusion as I said. The inside is not very large they do take reservations now and I would seriously suggest you do this as it does get busy. The inside is painted shades of gray and the long winding countertop or chef's table is of light wood. When we came in it had just opened at 4pm yes my friends don't mind going early. So we were greeted by the person who would be our server. I gave my name and we sat at the chef's area and were cozy. Neither me nor my friend had never been here and thought we would give it a try. We both agreed we would come back. We got things to share this is how it's set up, but if you are not feeling it and want stuff for yourself go for it. Now an FYI when you are ready to order, you will order everything at once. It will come out as one or two items at a time depending. We ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice w/ Spam (last time I ever had spam was in Hawaii and it was in a roll) the kimchi was lightly fermented so it was not too harsh and the spam seemed to be slightly cooked on the flat top and it gave it a buttery flavor. This was actually quite tasty and you can easily share it with two people. We also got the Brussel Sprouts now this seemed intriguing and nowadays people like da sprouts but... they were wayyyyy tooooo hard to eat. I mean it was a workout. Granted you don't want them to be like mush but it was a bit too toothsome for my liking. The sauce/seasoning was nice and slightly briny/salty. Than the Short Ribs in a Penang Sauce this was absolutely delicious and we asked what else we should order and our server said the Coconut Rice would complement this dish and it sure did. The short ribs were so fall off the bone and well seasoned. We got a few of the special cocktails it had Mezcal and I believe Matcha, it was smoky, tart and slightly sweet and they were served in what looked like stoneware cups. To end we got one of the seasonal deserts it was a Basque Cheesecake with whipped cream, and I believe some sort of salt & etc it was excellent. This is one of those things you should share it's rich on its own. Now where we were seated if others arrived at the counter it could have been a tight squeeze to get out. It's worth a visit I'll be back. Parking it's Park Avenue kids.. you will have to look around for a space. Feel free to ride share or if you live close enough walk on over.

Yelp
Leonore's is a dining experience you don't wanna miss. The menu is simple, items they serve year round and seasonal dishes. They will have specials to offer and plenty of drinks to choose from. Everything is meant to be shared. We recently went with a party of 4 and all the dishes we ordered were able to be shared reasonably. I would say for a larger party you might want multiples of the same dish if it's highly popular. My group got to sit in a "private" back room which was a cool add on to a wonderful meal. Most seating is open and there are some tables outside as well. We got in early so it wasn't busy, but it was completely filled by the time we left. Service was fast, food came out as it was ready and the staff was wonderful and able to answer all our questions and make adjustments to our orders within reason for personal preference. We got about 6 different dishes and your mileage may vary based on your palette and hunger. What I will say is everything was made to perfection. The cook and the flavors are absolutely nailed and for me personally offered me tastes I've never had and now love. Everything did come with some heat on it, so if spice is not your thing at all, this may be a challenge. We were warned about the Kimchi and we got it anyways and yeah that sucker is really hot, so if you want a challenge, go for it, if not stay far away. Tldr: Amazing food, Amazing experience, if you fancy fun flavors and enjoy a mild kick, you might as well get to Leonore's right now. Enjoy!

Yelp
Moody atmosphere with A LOT of gluten free options!! All in all, a nice experience. Food: most things were delicious! You order a few things to share all at once and they come out when they are ready. We got a few skewers (chicken thigh and beef satay). I was expecting more than 1 skewer. The chicken was over seasoned (salty) but the beef satay was DELICIOUS! In general I felt like the portioning was off on most of the dishes (too little or too much). Really fresh papaya salad, probably the best I've had in Rochester so far. Service: slow and little communication. When we arrived no one greeted us for several minutes (5+) and we were left guessing where to wait or what to do, which I don't like when going to a new place. Once someone saw us they explained it would be a few more minutes, which I'm fine with. It was the lack of communication when we got there. On the other hand, there was too much explanation of the menu. Despite it being my first time two people explained everything which was a lot of information. In general, ask me if I have questions after the first explanation and then move on. Also, asking if we were drinking or not would have saved time and effort about going into the drink menu for two people not ordering drinks. I will say, everyone was very friendly so that was great! Atmosphere: moody but fun. It's a really cool space!! Loved the water bottles at the tables and easy access to chopsticks and napkins. You'll have to ask for a fork and knife if you need those. If you sit at the bar, you'll have a fun view of the kitchen and the chefs, which I love! We were supposed to be seated at a booth in the front but were placed in the back at a table. For date night, I was looking forward to a more intimate bench seating with my partner, but the table was nice too. Parking: street. The restaurant is on Park Ave, so street parking it is! I usually have success on a side street, just double check the signs to know which side since it switches each evening.

Yelp
I will begin with the positives. The service was great as were the cocktails. We got the "milk punch" and the "got any grapes" . I could drink those all day everyday. The atmosphere is very nice but nothing to brag about. We got a bunch of things to share and the unanimous winner of the night was the steak. The only issue was the price of the steak and it didn't come with anything. Now for the negatives, while the food was good the price wasn't justified. We ordered a handful of small and large plates to try a variety of items. Charging $5/6 for a side of rice is crazy. The food was good but overall way too salty. I don't know if that is intentional as a way to order more drinks but by the end of our meal we had gone through 4 bottles of water. No utensils other than chopsticks were provided. That's fine but when trying to eat rice, lentils, or scoop sauce it's nearly impossible. Out of our group, none of us said we would be back as the price was over the top. On top of that, a service fee is added. I don't know about you, but I prefer to know what I'm going to pay when going out.

Yelp
Amazing! So many choices and not the same old Same old. We tried the whole menu and it was all good!

Yelp
I haven't been back home to Rochester in quite some time and heard that there was a Thai place I've yet to try. I didn't do much research before coming here. Once I tasted the food, I realized maybe I should look into this place.. To my disappointment, I realized this was not an Asian owned establishment and rather just one that was profiting off of Asian style cuisine. Go figure. I suddenly understood why this place was pricing their food these insane prices. If I were to describe the taste of the food... I would say it's not particularly bad? But nor was it good. Specific flavor profiles were missing and I would honestly say there's a lack of certain qualities and techniques that make Thai food so delicious. There are many many other actual Asian owned businesses within Rochester that will bring you the authentic flavors along with sensible pricing. Why in the world is their beef panang $32 dollars? I've been to amazing Thai restaurants in Chicago, NYC, LA, Vancouver, Toronto, even some random hole in the wall in North Carolina that was so much better than this at a fraction of the cost. I'm so insulted as a Thai person to be honest. My 12 year old niece can make you better Thai curry for $5. Please, please, go and support your actual local Asian owned restaurants. Not the ones playing pretend off of other people's cultures. This place? This is offensive and not it.

Yelp
This was the meal we have been searching for since moving here from a larger city. The restaurant itself is beautiful--the walls, the art, the plates, the bar--perfect. The service--all so friendly and welcoming, our server guided us on what to order--small plates to share, Thai flavors. We had the pork belly, crispy rice, roasted carrot side, chewy noodles with mushrooms and broccoli, and my husband's favorite--oxtail. We would go back for it all. The drink menu was interesting, and we will probably also try those next time. This is a must go restaurant in Rochester.

Yelp
I never leave bad reviews but this place was highway robbery. $18 for an ozempic size chicken skewer. Ordered 6 dishes for 5 people and it still wasn't enough, ended up cooking after. Go to Thai Yada or Mamasans, 10x better and half the price. Quite possible the worst restaurant in Rochester. Ambiance was terrible, took the waittress 30+ mins to serve us.

Yelp
Food is delicious and unique! Love the ambiance too. Perfect for date night with significant other or friends :)

Yelp
Food was not good. Servers were working hard but the service at this restaurant is poorly designed. Avoid. And extremely expensive. Somehow a dinner for two people with not huge appetites and no alcoholic drinks ended up being 100$. Whattttttt. The milk bread was terrible. I can't believe they serve that with a serious face. The papaya salad is good for two bites. The pork belly was one of the worst things I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Very fatty and under seasoned with a mustard that adds little. We got the special cabbage rolls- those sucked. Flavorless. The chewy noodles- awful. Made me feel physically I'll to eat. Not to mention they give you a Nalgene to refill your water with, plastic chopsticks but no forks (cute guys. Get real. We aren't in Japan. It's park ave in Rochester NY). Go across the street to Vern's. This place will be closed in a couple years. It's another failed swan family experiment

Yelp
Leonore's is probably my favorite restaurant in Rochester! The atmosphere is the best, the food is so flavorful and so so unique, they are great with allergies, and the service is amazing. I also love that they change their menu seasonally so you never get bored. Go to Leonore's!!!
google avatar

Tessa O.

Yelp
Leonore's has very quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in Rochester. They have some of the most interesting and delicious food in the city and their cocktails are equally as interesting. They have seasonal menus that rotate with some classics that stay no matter what time of year. In particular, they really shine with their skewers and small plates. Plates are generally shareable and come out as they are ready. The food is Asian fusion, although definitely leans more Thai in its flavor choices. The service is always top notch, and if you sit at the bar, you can watch the cooks making the delicious food. The actual restaurant is on the smaller size, so I would definitely recommend making reservations, but the ambience overall is very cool and intimate. Pricier but worth it. Everything I have eaten here has been excellent and every time I come I have to get a side of the coconut sticky rice! Of all the Swan's Family restaurants in Rochester, Leonore's has easily taken my top spot.

Yelp
We had excellent service at Leonore's. The place was crowded, but our small table felt very private and we could have a conversation. Our server provided suggestion about how much to order for our party of two. He was attentive and helpful. The food was excellent, served quickly and really just delicious. They do not take reservations which was not a problem for us going later in the evening on a busy Friday night. The usual parking situation on Park Ave stands true.

Jerry ..

Yelp
Excellent and unusual menu choices, good service fun to watch kitchen at work and great cocktails too. Real Brooklyn vibe.

Yelp
One of our friends suggested this spot for a food adventure and boy am I glad we said yes! Leonore's is right across from vern's (one of our fave restaurants) and it's like a hole in the wall. But well decorated with interesting architecture. The space probably has 4 tables in there with a bar. They do utilize the outside space for some additional seating. The service was great and attentive and the food was amazing! Between the four of us, we shared a few dishes. For the smaller dishes we got the pork belly with hot miso mustard, and the larb style sausage. The pork belly came on a skewer. It was so perfectly cooked and so tender and flavorful. The miso mustard dip did not overwhelm the meaty flavor, I highly recommend! The larb style sausage was probably the weakest of the dishes we got but what made it interesting is the dip. The sauce was fatty and kind of sour due to the rhubarb which cut through the richness well. Not sure what the profit margin on these dishes are but they were expensive for the portion size. Flavors are totally worth it for me though. We also shared the bigger dishes. We got the confit rabbit laap, short rib panang, and the beet mochi. The rabbit laap was a hit amongst the table! It's definitely got the asian flavors, I think there's probably fish sauce in there. But it was a mix between sweet, a little sour and savory and just so interesting in every bite. The rabbit was also not gamy and cooked so well. The short rib panang was so good. The panang was so savory and rich. The rib was cooked well so it was super tender! You do get a lot of meat. The beet mochi was a very interesting dish in terms of texture. You will get the chewy mochi texture, but you do lose the beet flavor because of the very strong peanut sauce. We loved the dish overall. In addition to all of this we got the coconut sticky rice. I definitely recommend doing this to cut through all of the strong sauces and it's just nice and glutinous to eat. All of our entrees were a flavor-packed punch to your palette and I was really excited to go back to each dish multiple times! I think this is nice restaurant to have a variation of asian flavors. We loved how cute it was but for parties bigger than four I'm not sure if there's a lot of space. And also it's on the pricier side for the portions. I still recommend Leonore's though, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Great service and atmosphere. Good fun and delicious. Lots of choices for food. All shareable... recommend 3-4 choices for 2 people.

Yelp
Amazing experience every time! Love the changing menu always something new to try out each season, great place to bring friend, the more friends the more things you can test out!

Gaelen M.

Yelp
First time here and enjoyed every single thing about the experience. We sat at the counter/chef's table, which I loved. watching the team prepare plates and bowls in an organized but friendly fashion was great. Seeing the ingredients transform into dishes never gets old for me. Waitstaff and kitchen staff were all friendly. We ordered 5 items for the 2 of us to share - - pork belly from the binchotan menu - incredible depth of flavor from the binchotan (Japanese grill/charcoal) with a miso mustard that was a rounder flavor than your usual mustard - fried shrimp balls w ponzu - I admit that I waited a bit to eat those so I didn't get the crispy effect they would have had straight out of the fryer. Bu their taste and texture were still good at room temp. - chewy noodles from yan, O.M.G. Whatever magic they put in the sauce, please keep that coming! The broad noodle and crunchy veg bits were the perfect combo of textures. - smashed green papaya salad - for my friend this was very hot, and she tolerates heat, but i suspect the heat was in the topping and she may have taken the brunt of it when she scooped some onto her plate. For me it had a moderate heat, and the crunch of the papaya and the veg was great along with the juicy dressing (not oily, btw, clean and bright flavors) - turnip cake special with pork belly jam (think bacon bits but elevated.. a lot) that was incredible. The turnip was sweet from roasting and the seasoning and the jam made a great combination of sweet/salty/umami. The wine, beer, craft cocktail selection is just as good as Vern's across the street (their "husband" restaurant, they called it). The vibe inside is cozy and this will be a great retreat in the dark winters here. I found it a little difficult to hear, but I often find places difficult to hear.

Alexis D.

Yelp
This place was very interesting experience. First, when we got here the staff ignored us for a good 15 minutes before getting water and even menus. Second, we were served water from a Nalgene bottle which I thought was very odd for a restaurant looking to be on the nicer side. Third, the portions are terribly small, we got multiple plates to share and left hungry. Tried the bread and it was horrible, it lacked so much flavor. We had the pork belly and was disappointed, it was very over done and there wasn't anything special about it. The noodle dish we had was subpar at best. Then the sausage was okay but also was not anything special. Most of the other food we had did not give a spark of "I want more". Giving this place 2 stars for location and how nice/clean it was inside. Will not be returning and definitely do not recommend, very disappointed for a place that has potential.

Annie S.

Yelp
I get the hype now. cute rustic space inside, trendy young wait staff, you can see the kitchena nd food being made from the bar. Tasty cocktails! menu hit nice with tuna tartar, green curry, and lamb kabob

Yelp
Just amazing. Why can't others duplicate. Cozy space with fresh simple food that keeps you guessing. Tastebuds will be blown away. Sit at the bar to see all the action.

Terri E.

Yelp
The food!!!! Incredible night enjoying at least 8 different plates. Our server Amanda was great, suggesting drinks and next plates to try. The atmosphere was cozy, love a good window seat! Definitely have to come back to try more.

Janet D.

Yelp
Meant to share but portions are insanely small. Left hungry. Overpriced and got sick from the food. Wouldn't recommend going here.

Iris S.

Yelp
Genuinely one of the best new restaurants in town. I love the decor of the place and the food is genuinely a nice addition into the park ave restaurant scene.
