Leon’s Bagels

A perfect lil “hole-in-the-wall” type of bagel shop! Lots of ppl will mention other shops as “NYCs Best Bagel” but as someone who literally only comes to the city to walk and eat bagels, I can promise you this is an easy top 5. The bagel itself is quite perfect, but then they LOAD IT UP with all the fixings to make a boarder-line Katz Deli sized sandwich. I’m always getting the classic Lox on everything and I got BANGGGGG for my buck. Flavor was 5/5. Crunch was 5/5. Ingredients were 5/5. You get the point. I love the branding too. Lots of cool merch, nice employees, simple streamlined menu with enough options to make everyone happy. Truly you cannot go wrong stopping by their shops. 10 out 10 would recommend. No notes, keep on Le-on’s!

Leon Bagels in Brooklyn is a great spot for a casual breakfast or coffee break. The coffee is excellent, rich and well-prepared, and the bagels are delicious, perfectly chewy and fresh. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a nice place to relax or catch up with friends. Definitely a spot I’d come back to whenever I’m in the neighborhood.

First time trying Leon’s this weekend!!! I’m from Chicago. 10/10 lovely people and bagel was perfect. I got an egg & cheese on sesame with scallion cc. Best bagels in the city.

Let’s talk bagels for a second. I will not say that I am a master of knowing what might be considered a “traditional” New York bagel or New York bagel experience. But what I can say about Leon’s is that the quality of ingredients and service really shined through. I ended up getting a bacon, egg, and cheese on plain egg bagel. The sandwich was great! But what I really appreciated and observed was the quality of service I experienced and saw coming from whoever was running the register this day! Food quality is always important but so is service, and Leon’s is crushing it at both!

Recently spent a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon experiencing Leon’s. I heard it was highly recommended and they definitely delivered! Accessible by ordering via their window on Bedford street which is really cool, I had their staple Lox, 🥯 cream cheese, onions and capers on a toasted pumpernickel bagel. It was amazing!

Very good bagels but a bit overpriced like every bagel place in nyc. I ordered everything bagel and lox cream cheese for $7 because adding lox would have been way too expensive so the cream cheese is a good alternative and the taste is quite strong. Service was very good. There are a few sits in front of the shop but no interior sitting available.

This bagel is insanely good. I love the texture of the bagel and the chew. They roll the bottom in cornmeal or something crunchy so it texture is extra superb

If Apollo Bagels is a rocket ship, Leon’s Bagels is a three year old on a tricycle. Now while both modes of transport provides a means to getting from A to B. They do so in radically different styles. Leon’s bagels has smart branding, and merch that any transplant would be itching to get their hands on. Hell they almost convinced me at the register to get a hat without me even had tried the bagel! Now that’s good design imo. But for me, that is kinda where the excitement ends. I had read hundreds of reviews about their BEC and seen dozens of pictures of the infamous cheese pull. So I owed it to Leon’s to try it. My first qualm with the BEC is that it is with Cheddar Cheese and that’s the only option. The bagel comes with an almost excessive amount of egg and cheese to bacon ratio. I love cheese, but when melted, cheddar has a tendency to release all of its oils and creates a gritty texture. Making it a greasy mess to eat and leaving you feeling like you just ate something fried. I knew I made a mistake not just trying their cream cheese bagel, but gluttony got the better of me. Overall, if I’m going to Williamsburg and waiting in line to get a bagel, I’m going to Apollo until it gets dethroned. But that hasn’t seemed to happen yet.

Came here on a Saturday morning, and there were about ten people in line but it moved quickly! The storefront is so cute and I liked how they decorated it for fall. I ordered the classic Lox bagel which came out to $17 with some change. I think I waited 5-10 minutes for the bagel to be prepared, and then I walked a couple blocks north to sit at a bench in the park and eat it since there's not really a place to sit in front of Leon's Bagels. Looooved my bagel! I got a plain which was nicely toasted and paired well with the filling. Good amount of capers and salmon and cream cheese.

This is a cute hole in the wall bagel shop. The bagels are honestly pretty huge and very filling! I got the chicken sausage, egg and cheese sandwich and there were tonsss of eggs on it. Keep in mind they toast all sandwiches by default. They don't have their prices listed on the menu at the register, however you can take a look online ahead of time. There really isn't anywhere to sit outside of a few benches across from the shop. However there are a few different parks nearby that you could take your bagels and enjoy! I'm sure it depends on the time of day but from our experience there was never really a line of more than 4 people so it doesn't really take too long to get your food. The employees are cool and they honestly have pretty cute merchandise if you like that kind of stuff!

Nice cozy spot. Clean and modern. They were playing one of my favorite bands on the speaker (Prep) and I had to try! Very friendly staff. Fast service. I was lucky to avoid a line. I had a wheat sausage egg and cheese. Quite hearty and just what I needed for my hangover! Great texture, soft and crunchy in the right places. Quite generous with the egg portion. Packaging was clean and not too drippy-oily.

Good bagel with great chew. Loads of options and loved that they had a multigrain everything bagel. We got those as well as sesame, plain, and cinnamon raisin. Delish lox smear.

A little less than 4 stars, but rounding up. Leon's bagels is a cute little hole in the wall that just opened up in the area. I went on a Saturday late afternoon and there was basically no line. I got the classic lox on a wheat everything bagel. The bagel was super fresh, along with the cucumber and tomatoes. I do wish there was just a bit more lox on there for the price of $15-17. There was also a LOT of raw onion, for better or for worse. Not much seating, only one bench across the sidewalk.

New popular place in the hood. I did not plan for this today, but since there was no line I just jumped in and ordered an Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese and a coffee. The bagel was very fresh and tasty with loads of cream cheese, but the coffee was meh. All for $10. Here's the question, is it worth $10? The answer is borderline no especially if you have to stay in line for this.

Leons has a cool vibe and draws you in with their green and white decor. You order the bagel off a menu with no pricing, so that bothered me. But then it turned out to have reasonable prices. A toasted poppyseed bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese was great. But ORDER a side of spicy honey to drizzle on top! It is out if this world! It is rhetorical best dollar you will spend! Trust me!

I haven't left a review in years, but this place was so bad food-wise. 100% absolutely using thawed, leftover bagels that are soggy/wet on the outside, zero crispiness, and no fluffiness on the inside. Service was great, but not enough to make up for the food quality. Food: Went on a Tuesday morning and ordered an everything bagel with lox spread, scallion cream cheese, and onions. The sandwich comes out and is toasted, despite not asking for it toasted. No respectable bagel place is going to toast your bagel unless you ask for it, and nearly all of them ask if you want it toasted or not these days. I ask for a not-toasted bagel and they are kind enough to replace it, and the bagel is among the worst I've had in NY, comparable to the bagels a food cart serves in the morning. Soggy, wet on the outside (you can feel the dampness) and no crispiness or fluffiness. If you've ever left bagels in your fridge for a few days and taken them out, it was exactly that. Northern Williamsburg close to the park is lacking in a great quality bagel spot, but there are much, much better options nearby. They are toasting their bagels by default because they are using leftover and/or thawed bagels, and charging $15 for it anyway. Not worth it. Service: The lady taking orders was very kind, didn't hesitate to replace my bagel, and my replaced order came out lightning quick. Great service.

Terrible service. First time I went, there was no line. From the time I placed the order until I received it, it took 9 minutes just for a toasted bagel. When I got it, I realized I had been given the wrong order and had to ask them to exchange it. Just went back again today to give it another chance. The cashier was texting on his phone, and I said "hello" several times to try to get his attention despite standing right in front of him. After finally yelling at him, he looked up and his eyes were glazed over. I ended up just leaving. Not sure if they take a long time to build up a line to attract attention, but the food is nowhere good enough to justify the atrocious wait and service. I will never be coming back here.

Delicious bagel, great texture, creamy cream cheese. My friend says it's the best veggie cream cheese she's ever had! Personally, had the jalapeño, and it hit the spot -- very fresh and flavorful.

Service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The bagel itself has a great flavor and good ingredients, but the bagel is missing that satisfying crunch in every good bagel. The inside is fluffy, but missing one key component for me.

Great new bagel shop in the neighborhood. The secret is out because there are lines daily already but the orders are prepared quickly. Perfect stop on the way to McCarren.

The bagel just wasn't very bagel-y. Tasty enough if you are looking for bagel-shaped bread, otherwise go to Bagelsmith on Bedford for an actual bagel. (Dubious that the people giving it five stars have eaten real bagels before.)

Actually disgusting. Like what the actual F I spit it out. Soggy, beaten and battered looking bagel. How do you screw up a BEC?? Apparently it's very doable. Someone help her she's a mess. I swear ppl go here bc it's trendy looking and they have merch. WHERE are my classic crunchy outside fluffy inside, *Bagels For You* New Jersey type BEATTTTT??? This is Brooklyn it's supposed to be better than Jersey I thought. WHERE do I get a good bagel?!

Waiting 45 mins for a bagel outside in the heat is a bit ridiculous. Bagel was good which is why I added 1 star. Do not order online from this place, make sure you order in person. I saw about 20 people get their orders before mine and I had ordered online before them.

People are so nice! And bagel sandwich tastes fresh and happy. Cute spot that makes this corner of the neighborhood feeling cozy.

The bagels are mostly good, but the service is terrible. The first month or so that they opened, the bagels were great and the people working were friendly. As of late, the service is incredibly off-putting. You could be as nice and friendly as possible and still be met with curt responses. It's really strange.

The best bagels in North Williamsburg. Brian and Ess are great and extremely friendly each morning. Bagels are delicious and always maintain the same quality. The music playing and the neighborhood vibes can't be beat. I wished they bought the space next door for a sit down experience to work remotely there.

Not worth the hype. A good bagel doesn't need to get toasted, this one for sure did. Tasted one day old, very dry
