"Contemporary design is now so common in hotels as to have become almost standard. But there are still some places where a bit of modernity goes a long way, places where there’s a striking contrast between the clean and contemporary interiors and the ancient character of the weathered streets outside. Rome is one of these places — and Leon’s Place is a fine example of the way one’s perspective on an ancient city can be changed by the view from a modern hotel." - Tablet Hotels

Leon’s Place in Rome exceeded all expectations. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The breakfast spread was outstanding, with a wide variety of hot and cold options that made each morning feel special. The complimentary wellness spa — complete with a sauna, steam shower, and jacuzzi — was a fantastic bonus and perfect for unwinding after exploring the city. Our room was comfortable and quiet, and the lobby had a fun, stylish vibe that made the hotel feel lively yet relaxed. Highly recommend staying here!

I’m giving this place three stars — which honestly feels a bit generous — for several reasons. The hotel itself isn’t awful, but it looks nothing like the photos and overall feels quite neglected. To be fair, the staff was very friendly. When we arrived, the first room we were given had a strong, nauseating smell. We asked to be moved and they switched us immediately, which we appreciated. The second room didn’t smell, but it had visible water damage throughout. I really regret not taking photos. The bathroom was also extremely small, and the shower didn’t drain at all — it clogged so quickly that it turned into a bath within minutes. We specifically booked this hotel for the “spa” access and paid extra for it, but that ended up being a big disappointment. The wellness area is absolutely not worth it. The steam room felt unclean and stinky. The sauna felt unstable, the hot tub was barely warmer than bath water, and overall the entire area just felt poorly maintained. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again, and I can’t recommend it.

Review from a client that stayed in September 2025: All of the staff were helpful and pleasant - they helped us book taxis, find restaurants, and obtain items we needed! Loved the atmosphere of the lobby bar as well. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom/tub. The location was great - blocks away from the train station and easy to explore the city! Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a high recommend! The staff is stellar, the accommodations were the the best of my three city trip, and the hotel was walkable to some great sights, as well as being on a street where an uber drop off or pick up is comfortable. ||Housekeeping was respectful and thorough, even circling back after I left late one day and they’d already gone by my room. ||The artistic flair and breakfast arrangements make this hotel a wonderful retreat for a trip to Rome and even a retreat from the hustle and bustle of Rome itself.

Very pleasant and comfortable hotel with helpful and friendly staff, particularly the receptionists and the barman. The room was very clean, with a comfortable bed, and super bathroom, with a great shower. The hotel is also in a good location, not too far from the main sights and attractions but nice and quiet at night. Breakfast was good, with a fine choice of food and in a pleasant cellar restaurant. Would certainly be happy to stay there again if visiting Rome, and pleased to recommend it to others.

I had a lovely stay at Leon’s Place! The room was beautiful with high ceilings and very comfortable overall. It could get a bit noisy at times (thin walls, I think), but it wasn’t a huge issue. The real highlight of this hotel is the staff — so friendly and welcoming. They really made the stay feel special. The location was decent. It’s about a 15-minute walk to Termini station and a bit further from the main sights like Trevi Fountain, but there’s a bus stop just 2 minutes away that makes it super easy to get around. The area is quiet and feels very safe, with lots of embassies nearby.Breakfast was okay — not a lot of hot food options, but the pastries were nice. At €22, I felt it was a bit overpriced for what you get. If it was closer to €10–15, I would’ve had it more often. On the other hand, the dinner was delicious and had a great variety. The hotel also offers a free spa area (jacuzzi, sauna, steam room), which is a great extra. Sadly, I didn’t get to try it this time as it was fully booked — but I’d love to next time!Overall, I’d definitely consider staying here again.

We have just come back from what can only be described as a wonderful stay at Leon's Place in Rome. We visited Italy for the first time for my wife's birthday and the hotel left us a lovely personal note and delivered a bottle of fizz on our arrival. ||What a great little find this hotel is. About 10 - 15 min walk from the main tourist attractions, taxi's from the airport are 55Eu (fixed). ||We were greeted by Matilde who i had been conversing with over e - mail the last few weeks. Have to say exceptional e - mail response times. I wrote a few times and she'd literally responded within minutes... ||The hotel has a private wellness centre which can be booked FOC for the guests, this has a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room. All available FOC which we used for an hour during our stay. ||Our room was lovely. Probably the comfiest bed i have slept in. As others have noted the rooms can be a bit noisy from neighboring rooms but this didn't bother us. Room had a mini bar, Sky TV which showed the football. ||We didn't have breakfast there but i did pop my head in and this looked great with plenty of variety and guests there. We ate at a place about 5 mins down the road "Vero" which did amazing pancakes, breakfasts and pastries on our way out each day. ||There's also an amazing Gelato shop 'Gelataria De Roma' which gets amazingly busy all the time, nearly queuing out the door, it's chaotic in there... but it's well worth it!||Overall we would go back in a heartbeat. The hotel is beautiful inside and has a lovely little courtyard and restaurant area which weren't really used but they are really nice.

We stayed at Leon's Place for 3 nights before our Mediterranean cruise out of Rome. It's a beautiful little boutique hotel within walking distance to some nice restaurants and cafes. The lobby was beautiful with a cute little bar and they have a restaurant but we did not eat at it. Service was top notch and rooms were good size, clean and nicely decorated. Would definitely stay here again if I return to Rome.

Yelp
The staff is amazing. So helpful and friendly. We came with A TOUR and breakfast was included. The food at the breakfast buffet was delicious. Fresh farm eggs bright yellow. The croissants were lite and flakey. The fruit was so colorful and tasted wonderful. I ate 2 bowls of cantaloupe and strawberries. The rooms and shower are small. The elevator is very small and not wide. It is not Ada compliant but they have rooms on the first floor but the elevator maybe tight it you wish to go for breakfast downstairs. I don't know if they have special rooms for disabled. The shower is not wide, there is a step down to get in. The shower door is very heavy. Also our room did not have safety bars . I really did love the small room and it was a very nice place to stay.

Yelp
The hotel itself is beautiful, modern with an Art Deco vibe. The staff are charming and helpful. But the beds and pillows are rock-hard, and the bathtub is unsafe. The handheld shower is at knee-level, with no way to raise it for a standing shower. And there is no handrail to assist in getting out of the tub. All I could do was to sit on the edge. Uncomfortable to use!

Yelp
Very nice boutique hotel, visually appealing, much more spacious than others of similar service and breakfast had the best variety to choose from.

Yelp
Awesome hotel. Well located close to everything and across the street from the best gelato/ice cream shop in all of Rome. 15 min walking distance to Trevi fountain and the famous Spanish steps. This place should have way more reviews. Surprised it doesn't. Free bfast and very clean comfortable beds. I'll be staying here again when I come back.

Yelp
Such a great hotel. Location is central, and the hotel is very modern. On a quiet street - great airflow in rooms. Great service. We would stay again, really enjoyed our stay here!

Yelp
Amazing stay. Staff was attentive and kind. Room was amazing and well designed. The lobby was filled of candy and splendor. Central location and 10 min walk to the termine train station. I can't say enough about how nice it was!
