I have visited Leopold cafe multiple times before, but at this point the price that they charge and the quality of food that you get for it, just seems off. The vibe, ambience and staff is incredible. The staff goes out of their way to recommend dishes and make you comfortable, etc. but the food doesn't do justice. We had a sizzler and a Baby corn and mushroom starter. On this visit, I truly felt that the food quality has degraded. They charge 400-600 average for these items which is sad. Hopefully this will get better. On the contrary, the desserts were very tasty. They did give have a mass-produced, commercial bakery products taste to them, especially for the cheese in the blueberry cheesecake. The chocolate cake was good. Overall the experience was average and I'd think twice henceforth before going there for a heavy meal. I think it's only okay for light bites.

Visiting this café was an absolute delight, and every aspect of the experience truly lived up to its reputation. Though on the pricier side, it is evident from the very first step inside that this is no ordinary café—it is an indulgence worth savoring. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegance and warmth. Thoughtfully designed interiors, cozy lighting, and tasteful décor create an inviting space where you immediately feel at ease. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet coffee alone or sharing a meal with friends, the setting enhances the experience in every way. Soft background music and attentive staff further elevate the atmosphere without being intrusive. As for the food, the quality speaks for itself. Each dish is beautifully presented and crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The flavors are refined yet comforting, showing the chef’s dedication to detail and creativity. From their rich, aromatic coffee to the decadent desserts and hearty mains, every bite feels intentional and memorable. The café doesn’t just serve food—it offers a culinary experience that lingers with you long after your visit. Service is equally commendable. Staff members are professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations tailored to your preferences. Overall, this café is not simply a place to eat but a destination for those who appreciate fine dining in a relaxed yet sophisticated environment. While it may be on the expensive side, the impeccable food, exceptional service, and luxurious ambiance make it worth every penny.

I visited again, a week later. This time I had grilled lamb chops in rosemary sauce - with some Tabasco sauce too, hehe - and a can of diet Coke. It was very nice indeed. The one great characteristic of a properly made dish is that it should not be heavy on the tummy. The lamb chops were perfect. Wonderful. We had a vegetable burger, a Coke float, a mutton curry & rice, and a can of Diet Coke (there was no Coke Zero; and no teas and coffees at dinner time). The burger was good and filling, the Coke float refreshing, the mutton curry was good, but would have preferred more portions - for one not so voracious diner(!), the rice was a lot. The cafe was fairly full and we were given a place upstairs, which is cramped for space. I was informed that the upstairs used to be a sort of night club once (with a band and a crooner probably)- could not imagine that in that confined, low space. Overall, a good experience. Didn’t seem very upmarket though. Which might not be a bad thing.

We had heard a lot about the place and visited there for the heritage vibes. And we were really disappointed. The place now runs purely on the name. The food is so so... so very great at taste. Superly overpriced. The taste and quantity both does not justify the price. Not very far from here Cafe Mondegar has way better tasting food and lesser priced from here. All the staff are not very well behaved. Some just a blatant rude.. some are good and treat you well. We went there as visiting tourists just for the vibe and history of the place. Would never visit again if its just for its food.

Heard a lot about this place and finally decided to check it out — wish I hadn’t bought into the hype. The ambience is decent, but nothing groundbreaking. It feels like a place that relies more on its Instagram appeal than actual experience. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table, only to be seated next to a speaker blasting music loud enough to drown conversation and the taste of the food. Speaking of food — and honestly, I’ve had better versions at smaller, lesser-known cafes. Prices are premium, but quality? Not so much. Coffee was lukewarm and watery, and the presentation couldn’t make up for the lack of flavor. Service was polite but painfully slow. Maybe they were short-staffed, or maybe just used to people being too busy taking selfies to notice. In short: great for pictures, not for palate. If you’re going for the ‘gram, sure. If you’re going for good food and value — better places around

A place of history that we still shudder to think, the night of Taj attack. They have still preserved the bullet marks of that night. Their pista almond biscotti is one I carried back with me to Kolkata and it is a must buy..... The chai and coffee were both wonderful and a good hub to hang out with friends

Visited the iconic Leopold Cafe during my recent trip to Mumbai, and it truly lived up to its legendary status. I ordered the White Sauce Alfredo Pasta, and it was rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked. The flavors were well-balanced, and the portion size was generous — definitely satisfying for a pasta lover. To go with it, I had a Fresh Lime Soda, which was refreshing and well-made, striking the right balance between tangy and sweet — ideal for Mumbai’s humid weather. Ended the meal with a Regular Chocolate Pastry, which was moist, soft, and had just the right amount of sweetness to finish things off on a delightful note. The ambiance of the place adds to the overall experience — nostalgic, lively, and full of character. Service was quick and polite, even during the busy hours. Overall a great place for both tourists and locals. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy good food with a dose of Mumbai’s cafe culture.
