The famous hustling and bustling cafe in a famous locality, is a trip back in time, from the simplistic sitting arrangement to the throwback ambience & different memories of some unfortunate events. The spot is jam packed on weekends & holiday with friends and family along with major tourist flocking the place. Veg & non veg menu along with alcoholic beverage to choose from. Breakfast lunch & dinner, all meals served. Our gastronomic experience was subpar & we couldn't come up with any dish worth recommending or coming back for seconds. A good spot to visit once for the nostalgia.

Visiting this café was an absolute delight, and every aspect of the experience truly lived up to its reputation. Though on the pricier side, it is evident from the very first step inside that this is no ordinary café—it is an indulgence worth savoring. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegance and warmth. Thoughtfully designed interiors, cozy lighting, and tasteful décor create an inviting space where you immediately feel at ease. Whether you’re enjoying a quiet coffee alone or sharing a meal with friends, the setting enhances the experience in every way. Soft background music and attentive staff further elevate the atmosphere without being intrusive. As for the food, the quality speaks for itself. Each dish is beautifully presented and crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The flavors are refined yet comforting, showing the chef’s dedication to detail and creativity. From their rich, aromatic coffee to the decadent desserts and hearty mains, every bite feels intentional and memorable. The café doesn’t just serve food—it offers a culinary experience that lingers with you long after your visit. Service is equally commendable. Staff members are professional, courteous, and knowledgeable about the menu, making excellent recommendations tailored to your preferences. Overall, this café is not simply a place to eat but a destination for those who appreciate fine dining in a relaxed yet sophisticated environment. While it may be on the expensive side, the impeccable food, exceptional service, and luxurious ambiance make it worth every penny.

Unfortunately overrated. Apart from one lady staff who stopped to make a joke and greet us upstairs, the place is super busy and noisy. The most unfortunate was the pomegranate juice I ordered. I was convinced it was watermelon and not pomegranate. It was extremely sugary and lighter and tasted like watermelon. The server banged the galas on the table as said 200%pomegranate and no added sugar. All the other food including the cake i tried was mediocre. Shepherds pie, paneer pizza, chocolate ecstasy. Over priced, overrated and mediocre. The only saddening and chilling things it see were the bullet marks.

Leopold cafe. Is there any introduction needed. The famous cafe cum bar of Mumbai causeway. Location amazing, atmosphere outstanding, food lip smacking so on and so forth. Will have to wait at times but not always. Good to visit with family or friends. Service too is good but not excellent.

****Leopold Cafe***** The ambience has an old-world charm, filled with history and character, making it a unique experience in Mumbai. It truly lives up to its legendary reputation. The place is always lively and energetic. At the entry point, someone would be there for security check and you may need to wait for sometime to get a table assigned. The wall and decor reflect the cafe's rich history. Sitting there feels like being part of Mumbai's culture. Its a great place to relax, enjoy good food, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere near Colaba. The staffs were attentive and service is prompt despite how busy the cafe usually is. Menu has great variety. We tried *Chicken Leo's special soup- It was nothing but normal chicken soup. Quantity was good for 2. *Chicken tikka biriyani- Had a slightly sweetish flovour, which may appeal to some. Still it was aromatic and well- cooked. *Singapore Chicken Noodles- tasted very good but had more mushrooms than chicken. *Mutton keema pav- it was great. *Blueberry cheese cake- not overly sweet and very refreshing, with perfectly balanced topping of blueberry compote. Overall all were great and delicious, the portions were generous. Highly recommended to anyone visiting South Bombay- an iconic spot that shouldn't be missed!

The most famous and iconic cafe in Colaba, Mumbai. I have been to Mumbai 100 times but never happened to stay longer. In my recent trip i happened to explore South Bombay and leopold is one of them. They have a good quick bite option with combo with beers ,if you are someone wants to with friends and hangout this is the place. Isn't very expensive too with combo offer so don't worry about your pocket too much. Post 26/11 attck the popularity might have increased and I still see people coming and inquiring about it. Those bullet marks still left there.

Leopold Café in Colaba has an undeniable charm that draws you in with its old-school vibes and nostalgic atmosphere. It's the kind of place that feels like a step back in time, perfect for soaking in the history while enjoying a pint of beer. If you're looking for a spot to unwind with a drink and reminisce, this café delivers on that front. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The food was a major disappointment. My steak sandwich was utterly tasteless, lacking any flavor or seasoning. The burger patty arrived raw in the middle, which was not only unappetizing but also concerning. The pepper steak was chewy and tough, and the so-called pepper sauce tasted more like a sour concoction with absolutely no hint of pepper whatsoever. To top it off, the service was painfully slow—the food took forever to arrive, leaving us waiting far longer than expected. Overall, if nostalgia and a casual beer are what you're after, Leopold Café is worth a visit. But for a satisfying meal, I'd recommend heading somewhere else. There are plenty of better options in Colaba for food that actually lives up to the hype.

Iconic Café with Great Vibe, Mixed Opinions on Food & Service. An iconic Mumbai café with a lively vibe and historic charm. Great place to relax after Colaba Causeway shopping—food is decent, drinks are good, and the atmosphere is the real highlight. Leopold Cafe is worth visiting for its history and energetic ambience. The food is average for the price, but the experience, crowd, and location make it a must-visit spot in South Mumbai. Very vibrant and famous place with lots of character. Can be crowded and slightly overpriced, but still worth a visit at least once for the iconic Mumbai café experience. 📍 About the Place Leopold Cafe is one of Mumbai’s oldest and most famous cafés, founded in 1871 and located on Colaba Causeway — right across from the Colaba Police Station. It’s a cultural landmark as well as a popular hangout for tourists, locals, and fans of the novel Shantaram. The café also carries historical significance because it was one of the spots attacked during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, and some bullet marks remain preserved as a memorial. 🍽️ Ambience & Atmosphere Vibe: Lively, bustling, and full of character — a bit of an old-school vibe with a mix of retro and bohemian decor. Great people-watching spot after a shopping stroll along Colaba Causeway. Often packed, especially in evenings and weekends — queues are common 🍔 Food & Drinks — What People Say Positives: Wide, varied menu with continental, Indian, Chinese & bar food options. Popular items include beer towers, shepherd’s pie, walnut pie, chocolate desserts, chicken wings, burgers and more. Some reviewers have enjoyed refreshing drinks like Coke floats and milkshakes. Cost: Expect mid-range pricing — around ₹2500 for two people including drinks (approx.) with alcohol. 🧑‍🍳 Service & Crowd What reviewers note: ✔ Friendly, helpful staff when it’s not crowded. ⚠ Can be slow or inattentive during peak hours. ⚠ Busy weekends and evenings often have lines and waiting times. 📌 Pro Tips Before You Go This cafe is worth visiting for the experience and atmosphere, even if the food opinions vary. Best to visit earlier in the day or on weekdays to avoid long waits. Ideal spot if you enjoy beer, relaxed seating, and a lively crowd.
